The purpose of this study is to analyse the effect of spousal attachment on job attachment/commitment, job quality, and the support provided for wife in male early adulthood. The research method was survey research. Based on adult attachment approach, the hypothesis was established. The secure attachment with spouse was no significant effect on job attachment/commitment, The anxious-avoident attachment with spouse was no significant effect on job attachment/commitment, and The anxious-ambivalent attachment with spouse was significant negative effect on job attachment/commitment. The secure attachment with spouse was significant positive effect on job quality. The anxious-avoident attachment with spouse as no significant effect on job quality, and The anxious-ambivalent attachment with spouse was significant negative effect on job quality. The secure attachment with spouse was significant positive effect on ordinary support for wife, The anxious-avoident attachment with spouse was significant negative effect on ordinary support for wife, and The anxious-ambivalent attachment with spouse was no significant effect on ordinary support for wife. The secure attachment with spouse was significant positive effect on nonordinary for wife, The anxious-avoident attachment with spouse was significant negative effect on nonordinary support for wife, and The anxious-ambivalent attachment with spouse was no significant effect on nonordinary support for wife. The results was discussed on the importance of spousal attachment for healthy job life and family life.

This study discusses whether conflict-coping types of marital couples affect marital satisfaction. There are 5 conflict-coping types of husbands and wives which can be distinguished from each other by attitudes based on partners' answers. Women's conflict-coping types are : compromisors passives apathetics attackers and blamers. Men's conflict-coping types are : reasoners passives jubeniles attackers and volatiles. Each type of husband and wife affects their marital satisfaction. All married coulpes are categorized again by the index of withdraw/demand. As result there is a difference among 3 groups : resoner-husbadn/ any type of wife demand-husband/ withdraw-wife and demand-husband/ demand-wife. In other words when a husband is resoner-husband regardless of the type of wife their marital satisfaction is the highest. And the demand-husband / withdraw-wife type shows a more positive effect on marital satisfaction than the demand-husband/ demand-wife type.

In an effort to better understand the relationship between husband and wife in the family, this study investigated wife's emotional support and husband's marital satisfaction. Subjects were 232 husbands in Seoul. Results indicated that the level of wife's emotional support to their husbands and husband's marital satisfaction were generally high. And wife's emotional support to their husbands had the strongest positive effect on husband's marital satisfaction. In addition, husband's income and wife's employment were negatively related to husband's marital satisfaction. It was suggested the importance of the emotional support to their husbands had the strongest positive effect on husband's marital satisfaction. In addition, husband's income and wife's employment were negatively related to husband's marital satisfaction. It was suggested the importance of the emotional support in the spousal relationships.

Although there is a little concern about wife beating, the problem is in very serious level. Especially many community workers in urban poor areas reported that they often wittnessed wife abuse cases and most battered women have no place to ask help. However, there is not many systematic analysis on wife abuse in those areas. The purpose of this study are (1) to more accurately estimate the incidence of wife abuse in poor families; (2) to examine the interrelationships of socio economic status, stress and alcohol consumption of wife abuse. The results show that almost 1 out of 3 husbands in urban poor areas carried out 1 or more physical violence acts against their wives during the last year and that social stress has statistically significant relationship with wife abuse in the urban poor families.

Using questionnaire data from a sample of 144 mothers who have 6-36 months children in Seoul, this study examined the relationship among wife's parenting stress, social support, and wife's marital satisfaction. The main results of this study were summarized as follows; 1. Whereas the level of the employed wife's parenting participation was very low, the level of another person's support was very high. On the other hand, her husband participated less in the parenting than the unemployed wife's husband did. 2. Parenting stress was negatively related to marital satisfaction while the satisfaction of husband's support was positively related to marital satisfaction. 3. The satisfaction of husband's support mediated the relationship between parenting stress and wife's marital satisfaction. That is, wife's satisfaction of husband's support predicted higher marital satisfaction. 4.For both employed and unemployed wife, the most important indicator of marital satisfaction was not parenting stress but her husband's emotional support.

이 연구는 아내강간이란 단독주제로는 선구적 연구로 아내강간의 발생정도, 관련 사회계층적 배경, 성장시 가정폭력 배경, 그리고 아내강간에 대한 인식조사에 연구의 초점을 두었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. 우리나라 기혼남성들 중 약 42.4%가 아내강간을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 가계의 월수입이 적고, 어릴 때 부모로부터의 학대경험이 많은 남성이 아내강간 경향이 높고, 아내가 신앙생활에 열심일수록 남편의 아내강간 행동이 다소 감소되는 경향이 발견되었다. 한편 아내가 남편으로부터 강간을 당하는 중요한 변수가 경제생활 수준으로 확인되어, 아내강간 발생을 예측하는 데 현재 부부의 재정상황이 상당히 중요하게 관련되어 있음을 시사해 주고 있다. 남녀 성별간에는 아내강간에 대한 수용정도와 처벌의 필요성에 뚜렷한 차이를 보이고 있다. 아내강간의 행동에 대해 많은 기혼남성과 기혼여성이 부정적인 시각을 가지고 있으나, 여전히 상당수의 기혼남성과 여성이 아내강간에 대해 수용적이었다. 특히 아내강간을 상대적으로 많이 경험한 남성보다 남편으로부터 강간을 상대적으로 더 많이 경험한 여성이 아내강간에 대한 문제의식이 약해져 아내강간을 훨씬 더 수용하고 있는 현상은 심각한 문제로 제기되고 있으며, 사회사업실천을 위한 중요한 함의를 던져 주고 있다.

This study examined influences of work-family conflict on husband-to-wife battering and explored the mediating effects of stress between work-family conflict and wife battering. Subjects were 293 male violence offenders sampled from 65 domestic violence counseling centers nationally. Both directions of conflict between. work and family, work-to-family interference (WIF) and family-to-work interference (FIW), were proven to be significantly influential on wife battering and stress. Work-to-family interference did not have direct influence on wife battering but indicated a complete mediation effect of stress. On the other hand, family-to-work interference implied a partial mediation effect of stress, with both direct and indirect influences on wife battering. Based on these findings, the research discussion was extended to include the implication of an intervention that would decrease husband-to-wife battering.

본 연구는 2004~2007년 기간 중 혼인통계에 관한 통계청의 마이크로데이터서비스시스템 원자료를 사용해 지역, 교육수준, 직종, 결혼종류 등 각 항목별로 남녀 결혼연령차 및 여성연상혼 현황을 분석하고, 여성연상혼에 영향을 미친 결정요인을 로짓모형(logit model)과 다항로짓모형 (multinomial logit model)을 활용해 고찰한다. 본 연구의 분석결과에 따르면, 여성연상혼은 여성의 교육수준이나 직종 자체보다는 남녀의 교육수준 차이나 소득차이와 더 큰 관련성을 갖고있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 여성연상혼은 여성의 교육수준과 직종(소득)이 남성보다 우월할 때 더 많이 발생하였다. 보다 구체적으로, 남성의 소득이 여성보다 100만원 더 적을 경우에 여성연상혼 확률은 0.7% 가량 증가하였다. 동갑혼 선택확률의 결정요인은 여성연상혼과 비교해 약간 차이가 났다. 예를 들어, 여성이 재혼인 경우에는 남성연상혼과 비교해 여성연상혼 선택확률은 증가하였지만 동갑혼 선택확률은 감소하였다. 본 연구는 그간 일반 대중매체를 통해서 종종 논의되었던 사회적 관심문제를 과학적 분석방법을 통해 규명해본다는 점에 의의가 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations between marital status incompatibility and the ways of dealing with marital conflict. Research was conducted by interview using questionnaire on 177 employed wives. Statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, percentage, t-test, chi-square test. 1) In resolving marital conflict four types of method are appeared, namely constructive method, passive method, evasion and physical violence. 2) Only physical violence of husband-to-wife of the four methods is related to status in-compatibility. That is the incidence rate of physical violence of husband-to-wife in incompatible couples is higher than that of compatible couples in conflict situations. 3) In case the wife's occupational status is high relative to her husband the incidence rate of physical violence of husband-to-wife is extremely high, but is significantly low in couples which are compatible in this status. 4) In case wife's status advance ent is controlled, there is significant relationship between status incompatibility and the method of conflict resolution by husband whose wife is status striver.

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the relations among wife's job and family life structure of couples, and to compare them between Japan and Korea. The data for this study was obtained from a survey of 247 Japanese couples who were risiding in Osaka and 235 Korean couples in Deagu, 1992. The major findings of this study can be summarized as follow: 1. The contents of Household works is classified into three factors-daily routine houseworks, child-rearing, economic-management of household, in Korea, and into two factors-daily routine houseworks, child and economic management, in Japan. The contents of descision making is classified into four factors-husband's personal sphere, family life management, wife's personal sphere, and home economic sphere, in Korea, and three factors-husband's personal sphere, economic life management of family, and wife's personal sphere, in Japan. 2. In Korea and Japan, wife's job have not effect on couple's marital satisfaction, directly. However, wife's job contribute to husband's share of daily routine houseworks.
