  • The current study investigated the friction property of angle and width effect for micro-scale grooved crosshatch pattern on SKD11 steel surface against bearing steel using pin-on-disk type. The samples fabricated by photolithography process and then these are carry out the electrochemical etching process. We discuss the friction property due to the influence of a hatched-angle and a width of groove on contact surface. We could be explained the lubrication mechanism for a Stribeck curve. So It was found that the friction coefficient depend on an angle of the crosshatch on contact surface. It was thus verified that micro-scale crosshatch grooved pattern could affect the friction reduction. Also, it is play an important a width of groove to be improved the friction property. I was found that friction property has a relationship between a width and an angle for micro-grooved pattern.

  • This study was carried out to observe movement behavior of students about a change of physical condition in moving space of variation type using simulation technique. The moving pattern of students was checked by SIMULEX program. The width of corridor was adjusted to 2.4m, 3.0m and 3.9m and a flow coefficient of simulation was estimated with the change of width. The wider the width of corridor was, the lower a flow coefficient was, and the difference was large when the width of corridor was narrow. It was also observed that the flow coefficient was relatively high in all types of corridor setup individual locker. Unit occupation area with the change of width was additionally measured, as shown in the results, the occupation density was low when the width of corridor was wide and a stationary time was short.

  • Rigid-plastic finite element analyses on the deformation of slabs at various width reductions have been performed. By using commercial finite element code, dog-bone profile, crop profile and the longitudinal width profile after edging and Horizontal rolling have been analysed. The deformation behavior of slab for the heavy edger mill has also been compared with that for the sizing press. From the deformation analyses, it was found that the sizing press-horizontal rolling method is more efficient in width reduction than that of heavy edger mill-horizontal rolling. The results of finite element analyses fer the deformation of slab were well confirmed by the actual operational data. It was found that the amount of width variation after sizing and rolling is about 5∼10mm.

  • Composite resins has been widely used in dental clinics because of esthetic restoration. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of the cavity designs on the compressive stress of resin restoration. So, the author made the standardized specimen of four types (Type of speciemen are width 1.5mm, depth 2mm, width 1.5mm, depth 3mm, width 2mm, depth 2mm, width 2mm, depth 3mm). The compressive strength was measured by universal testing machine (Tong Kwang Co.) The results indicating following; 1. There was a statistic significance of compressive strength between four cavity forms. 2. There was no difference of significance of compressive strength between two resins. 3. There was a significance of compressive strength between depth 3mm width 1.5mm and depth 3mm width 2mm.

  • Rapid urbanization causes a variety of transportation problems, including traffic delay. Then transportation engineers would get involved in trying to solve traffic delay through road constructed and uncongested policy. But lately, traffic policy changed from vehicle-dominated to humandominated and green transportation. Road diet is one of green transportation. Road diets reduce the number of lanes, lane width because supplement space for green transportation including a bicycle road, side-walk, etc. A study on road diets not enough then this study performed a basic study for road diets. This study on lane width reduce for road diets through analyzes sway of moving vehicle. This study results shows lane width of a compacts-size car needs 2.34~2.70m and lane width of a full-size car needs 2.62~2.89m. According to this study lane width can reduce therefore lane width design criterion have to be relieved. This study will be used in a road width reduce including a road diets, road in process of construction and so on.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify which width of the base of support(BOS) is safer and more effective in lifting by comparing muscle activations and body sways when lifting objects under the width variation of the BOS. A total of fifteen healthy adults participated in this study. For the width variation of the BOS, the participants changed the width between their feet into three different types(10cm, 32cm, 45cm) and lifted a 10kg four times in each type after going up on a force plate. In order to measure body sways according to the width variation of the BOS, a motion analysis system was used. In addition, in order to measure the muscle activations of lower extremities, including the erector spinae, gluteus maximus, rectus femoris, and tibialis anterior, an electromyogram(EMG) analysis was employed. In addition, the Borg's scale was drawn by quantifying the subjective discomfort levels felt from each width of the BOS. In conclusion, no statistically significant differences according to the width variation of the BOS were observed(p=.295, .308)(p>.05). However, a statistically significant difference was exhibited between the Borg's scale, which indicates the discomfort levels from lifting performances, and the width variation of the BOS (p=$.000^*$).

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the image evaluation of chinese female college students according to coloration of dress shirt and necktie and necktie width. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 12 color pictures, in which the hue(red, blue), tone(lt-shirt/dk-tie, dk-shirt/lt-tie), and necktie width(narrow, medium, width) were manipulated. The 7-point scale was used for evaluation of image. The subjects of this research were 120 chinese female college students living in Shandong, China. The investigation was carried out at April-May 2009. The data were analyzed by using SPSS program. Analysis methods were ANOVA and Duncan-test. The results of this study were as follows.; The analyses of image according to coloration of dress shirt and necktie and necktie width revealed that the concerned factors are four characteristic dimensions of ability-elegance, youth-attractiveness, appeal, and warmness. Hue showed an independent effect on ability-elegance, appeal, and warmness. Tone showed an independent effect on appeal and warmness. Necktie width showed an independent effect on appeal. In addition, interaction effects of hue and tone on ability-elegance were found. Interaction effects of hue and necktie width on appeal were found. Interaction effects of tone and necktie width on youth-attractiveness were found.

  • The height of the steps was almost the same as the grain size of bed materials and increased with channel slope. The step widths and step wavelengths are almost the same size, and the step wavelength was decreased when the channel slope was increased. It was analyzed that there was a clear correlation between channel width and step width, and the step width increases with channel width. In addition, the step wavelength was scaled by channel width, and the step height is governed by the grain size of the rock forming the step, so that the profile structure of the step-pool was changed according to the channel slope. the scale of the pool was found to be highly correlated with the channel width, grain size, and slope gradient. Therefore, the characteristics of step-pool structure in mountain streams were influenced by various factors, but it can be explained as the grain size, channel width and channel slope.

  • This study was designed to development of stock tray for Korean. The subjects for this study were 374 persons(male : 204, female : 170) with age $19{\sim}28$. The study models were made with irreversible hydrocolloid impression material and conventional stock tray, Individual trays were made on the study model and the master models were made after impression with polysulfide rubber impression material. Each of the master models measured 12 measuring points on the maxillary model and 13 measuring points on the mandibular model with digital sliding caliper. The values were analyzed statistically by SAS analysis. The measuring points were analysed and were consulted for the development of new stock tray for Korean. Maxillary models were divided into four groups acceding to the width between buccal alveolar ridges below the contact point of first molar and second molar. The size of new tray of the upper first group was 82mm (width), 60mm(length). That of the upper second group was 77mm (width), 59mm (length). That of the upper third group was 72mm (width), 58mm (length). And that of the upper fourth group was 67mm (width), 57mm (length). Mandibular models were devided into three group according to the width between lingual alveolar ridges below the second molar. The size of new tray on lower first group was 40mm (width), 55mm (length). That of the lower second group was 36mm (width), 55mm (length). And that of the third group was 32mm (width), 55mm (length). The author tested the fitness of newly designed stock tray in 52 subjects with normal occlusion and obtained good results that the problems of conventional stock tray were worked out.
