이륜자동차 스탠드/번호판/튜닝금지 안전기준에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Safety Standards for Motorcycle Stand, Rear Registration Plate and Anti-tampering Measures)

  • Recently, many drivers of two-wheeled motorcycles in leisure and express delivery industries etc. brought increasing issues for the motorcycle safety. This paper has studied the structural safety of two-wheeled motorcycles considering the regulations for stand, rear registration plate and anti-tampering measures. The authors have investigated and compared a variety of international and domestic regulations and specifications for structural safety of those components. Detailed experimental procedures of stand, mounting for rear registration plate and anti-tampering measures are proposed to secure the two-wheeled motorcycle safety and the outcomes of this study can be used to confirm the Korean motor vehicle safety standards.

  • Outer rotor type in-wheel Blushless DC Motor(BLDCM) for three-wheeled electric vehicle is researched. In-wheel system is to drive the electric vehicle without mechanical transmission, shaft, differential gears or other mechanical system. The motor is designed considering the performance requirements and drive modes of the vehicle. The determined dimensions as well as the slot and rotor pole are simulated by magnetic and thermal finite element analysis and ansys workbench to analyze the performance and heating of the motor. In order to verify the performance characteristics of the proposed motor, the experiment tests are executed and satisfy well the requirements.

이륜차 전조등 검사기준 및 검사방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Inspection Standards and Methods of Two-Wheeled Motorcycle Headlight)

  • This paper has presented the headlight inspection standards and methods of two-wheeled motorcycles considering Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (KMVSS), Korean Motor Vehicle Inspection Standards (KMVI) and the inspection standards of the International Motor Vehicle Inspection Committee (CITA). As a result of analyzing the headlight luminous intensity test result with fixed inspection equipment, 21% does not meet the inspection standard proposed in this study, and 33.3% in mobile inspection equipment does not meet. The average luminous intensity of motorcycle less than 50 cc is 8,340 cd, so all the lightweight small sized motor cycles do not meet the proposed headlight inspection standard.

  • Two-wheeled motorcycles rarely use windscreen wipers in general. However, if two or more wheeled motorcycles with upper body employ windscreen wiper systems, clear visibility should be ensured regardless of weather conditions. The windscreen wiper systems include washers, defrosting, and demisting. As demands for the personal mobility are rapidly increased, the related global safety standards for motorcycles with upper body have been revised accordingly. Currently only EU regulations issue the provisions of windscreen wiper systems for L-category vehicles, which characterize two or more wheeled motorcycles. Therefore, in order to agree with international safety standards, it is necessary to revise KMVSS (Korea Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) for motorcycles. Here, KMVSS regarding windscreen wiper systems for motorcycles are studied considering the EU regulations. It is expected that the findings in this study are useful for future amendment of KMVSS.

  • The strength of the mounting bolt of a backing plate is investigated with field test to provide the basic data in the safety evaluation of the wheeled vehicle. As a result, during the braking performance test at a vehicle speed of 32km/h, the shearing stress of mounting bolt is 20.5kg/mm$^{2}$ because the translatory mass of the vehicle is increased 21.6 per cent to incorporate the rotating-mass effect of wheels and other permanently engaged rotating parts.

  • A realtime simulator using an explicit integration method is introduced to improve the solving performance for the dynamic analysis of a wheeled vehicle. Because a full vehicle system has many parts, the development of a numerical technique for multiple d.o.f. and ground contacts has been required to achieve a realtime dynamics analysis. This study proposes an efficient realtime solving technique that considers the wheeled vehicle dynamics behavior with full degrees of freedom and wheel contact with soft ground such as sand or undersea ground. A combat vehicle was developed to verify this method, and its dynamics results are compared with commercial programs using implicit integration methods. The combat vehicle consists of a chassis, double wishbone type front and rear suspension, and drive train. Some cases of vehicle dynamics analysis are carried out to verify the realtime ratio.

  • This paper describes a stationary position control of a wheeled blimp. The wheeled blimp is composed of a blimp filled with helium gas and a wheeled vehicle part. The wheeled blimp is designed to enable both flying in the air and standing on the floor. The wheeled blimp stands on the floor keeping its balance. However, it is difficult for the wheeled blimp to maintain a stationary position in standing phase since the stationary blimp system responds sensitively to air current even in indoor environments.   • The river crossing is a very challenging operational function for the ground wheeled vehicle. In this study, the typical hazardous elements were identified by analysing the functional flow of river crossing operation and the survey on the similar operational experiences in real fields. The identified hazardous elements were reviewed on the basis of ALARP concept and reduction approaches were recommended for limited cases.
