정압 베어링을 적용한 수소 액화 공정용 터보 팽창기 개발 (Development of Turbo Expanders with Hydrostatic Bearings for Hydrogen Liquefaction Plants)

  • This paper presents a hydrostatic bearing design and rotordynamic analysis of a turbo expander for a hydrogen liquefaction plant. Th~e turbo expander includes the turbine and compressor wheel assembled to a shaft supported by two hydrostatic radial and thrust bearings. The rated speed is 75,000 rpm and the rated power is 6 kW. For the bearing operation, we use pressurized air at 8.5 bar as the lubricant that is supplied to the bearing through the orifice restrictor. We calculate the bearing stiffness and flow rate for various gauge pressure ratios and select the orifice diameter providing the maximum bearing stiffness. Additionally, we conduct a rotordynamic analysis based on the calculated bearing stiffness and damping considering design parameters of the turbo expander. The predicted Cambell diagram indicates that there are two critical speeds under the rated speed and there exists a sufficient separation margin for the rated speed. In addition, the predicted rotor vibration is under 1 ㎛ at the rated speed. We conduct the operating test of the turbo expander in the test rig. For the operation, we supply pressurized air to the turbine and monitor the shaft vibration during the test. The test results show that there are two critical speeds under the rated speed, and the shaft vibration is controlled under 2.5 ㎛.

  • To perform the finish grinding process of ferrules which are widely used as fiber optic connectors, a high-precision centerless grinding machine is necessary. The high-precision centerless grinding machine is consisted of the hydrostatic GW and RW spindle systems, hydrostatic RW feeding mechanism, RW swivel mechanism, on-machine GW and RW dressers, and concrete-filled steel bed. In this study, the thermal characteristics of the high-precision centerless grinding machine such as the temperature distribution, temperature rise and thermal deformation, are estimated based on the virtual prototype of the grinding machine and the heat generation rates of heat sources related to the machine operation conditions. The reliability of the predicted results is demonstrated by the temperature characteristics measured from the physical prototype. Especially, the predicted and measured results show the fact that the high-precision centerless grinding machine has very stable thermal characteristics.

  • In this study, It was designed and developed optimal rotary dressing system of centerless grinding using for ferrule machining. Dressing shaft's dropping is calculated by Finite Element Method, and bearing 7206ADB, 7005ADB is selected. Dressing wheel $GC\Box \;200\Box\; G\Box\; m\Box\; V-100^*25^*16$ is selected by pre-research. Also Motor, pulley, belt are selected, 0.4Kw-60Hz, 48.2 mm diameter, 2-5M-730 type, each.

스티어링 시스템의 모델링 및 진동 해석 (Modeling and Vibration Analysis of Steering System)

  • In this study, ti identify the dynamic characteristics of automobile steering system which consists of many components and joints, each component combined structure was analyzed using commercial structural package, ANSYS. And, the finite element method for each component and modeling method of several joints universal joint, bolt joint, bearing, etc. were studied. On the other hand, the experimental modal analysis was performed to compare with the results of the finite element analysis and joint modeling. The result shows very close agreement between two analysis. Also, it was found that the steeing column used in this experiment does not effect the low frequency mode of entire system. In addition, we found that constraint equations need to be considered in modeling universal joint. Since the stiffness effect of Urethane around wheel could be ignored, it can be modeled only with mass effect. In the end, it was found that dynamic characteristics of the entire steerintg system depends mainly upon the wheel characteristics.

Synthesis and Shuttling Behavior of Rotaxanes Consisting of Crown Ether Wheel and Disulfide Dumbbell with Two Ammonium Centers

  • Several [2]- and [3]rotaxanes bearing some functional groups on their wheel components and spacers with different lengths between two ammonium centers on their dumbbell components were prepared in good yields from dibenzo-24-crown-8-ether derivatives and dumbbell-shaped bis(sec-ammonium salt)s having a centrally located disulfide linkage, by utilizing the reversible thiol-disulfide interchange reaction. The shuttling behaviors of the [2]rotaxanes were investigated by $^1H$ NMR by use of the spin polarization transfer-selective inversion recovery technique. It was found that the change in spacer length in the axle resulted in a drastic change in shuttling rate of the [2]rotaxanes, although the introduction of the functional groups to the wheels did not affect the shuttling behavior at all.

차륜 및 차축베어링 고장진단을 위한 빅데이터 기반 머신러닝 기법 연구 (A Study of Big data-based Machine Learning Techniques for Wheel and Bearing Fault Diagnosis)

  • 본 철도 유지보수 산업의 효율화를 위해서는 핵심부품의 적시 관리를 통한 부품 가동률 향상 및 철도 운행의 안정성 향상이 필요하다. 또한 유지보수 시스템 고속화에 따른 신뢰성 향상과 핵심부품의 유지보수 비용 절감의 두 가지 측면을 모두 만족시키기 위해, 부품 이력관리와 대규모 빅데이터의 자동화된 분석 기술을 활용한 부품 상태 진단 기술 수요가 증가하고 있다. 이 논문에서는 철도차량의 차상 및 지상 장치로부터 발생되는 실시간 빅데이터 수집, 처리, 분석을 위해서 빅데이터 플랫폼 기반의 철도차량 부품의 상태 데이터 관리시스템을 개발하였으며, 이 시스템의 활용으로 철도차량의 부품 상태정보 및 시스템 리소스에 대한 실시간 모니터링이 가능하다. 또한 빅데이터 플랫폼으로부터 수집된 상태 데이터를 기반으로 분산/병렬처리 및 자동화된 부품 고장진단이 가능한 머신러닝 기법을 제안하였다. 실험결과, 분산/병렬처리 기술이 적용된 알고리즘의 실행시간 단축을 아마존 웹서비스의 가상 인스턴스 생성 시스템을 통해 증명하였으며, random forest 머신러닝 기법을 활용한 고장 진단 모델의 베어링 및 차륜 부품에 대한 상태 예측 정확도가 83%임을 확인하였다.

  • A cylindrical type of self-controlled restrictor is designed for hydrostatic bearing of crank shaft for a grinding wheel spindle. The effect of operation parameters, clearance between spindle and housing on bearing stiffness are analyzed to determine the optimum conditions of operation parameters. The lowest values of the supply pressure and the loads by the theoretical and experimental results assuming oil film thickness and shape of pocket are compared.

  • The use of small hemispherical high-speed precision bearing has increased drastically these days in the field of computer disk driver, highteech devices as well as communication and electronic device drivers. It was suggested that the new polishing process adopting the diamond grinding wheel and polishing tool instead of multi stage lapping processes, which enables the mass production of the bearing by reduction of polishing time. Polishing mechanism was analysed and the results were applied to the design and manufacturing of the polishing system. Experiments for selection of optimal polishing conditions were carried out using the polishing system.

인 라인 스케이트 프레임의 형상 설계 (Shape Design for a Inline-Skate Frame)

  • In-line skate generally consists of four major parts: boot, frame, bearing and wheel, and the most important part among those for necessary functionality is the frame. It is the most expensive, and it also makes a decisive role in practical race skating. The functional behavior of a frame is greatly affected by external dynamic forces as well as the static weight of a skater. We are proposing a new inline speed-skating frame design that has been improved in structural strength and weight for providing optimum speed in $20\sim40km$ marathon skating.

자동차 드라이브 샤프트와 액슬 시스템의 트라이볼로지적인 특성에 관한 고장사례 고찰 (Failure Examples Study for Tribological Characteristics of Drive Shaft and Axle System in Vehicles)

  • This study examined the tribological characteristics of the drive shaft and axle system in vehicles. The first drive shaft example contained end play for a CV joint that transferred part of the transmission power to the wheel. The joint part of the drive shaft was deformed because of reduced durability due to wear. Thus, vibrations caused the body to shake and become unbalanced when the drive shaft transferred the power. The second example was the cross-section of a shaft that connected the slip-connection of the propeller shaft on the input side to the yoke flange of the output side; the durability was reduced because of corrosion. End play caused by wear between the bearing and cross-section shaft appeared to cause shaking. In the third example, a grease leak reduced lubrication and thus caused damage to the hub bearing and inside the knuckle. The failure was produced by sticking. The fourth example had noise produced by the gear and gear transfer. This was due to the backlash of the pinion and few ring gears for the differential gear. Therefore, drive shaft and axle systems must be thoroughly checked and managed to minimize and reduce failure phenomena.
