Vibrational analysis of slab tracks for HSR(High Speed Rail) is performed in order to find dynamic characteristics and to control noise and vibration for the tracks. Wheel-rail interactive force is included in the analysis by modelling the vehicle and track as an unsprung mass and elastically-supported-double-beam respectively, and both are assumed to be connected by the Hertzian spring. From this study, it has been found that vibration in the track and the force transmitted to the infrastructure could be reduced by controlling elasticity, mass and stiffness of the track supporting system appropriately.

The principal of a Maglev train is that floats on a magnetic field and is propelled by a linear induction motor. One of advantages is that it generates less noise compared to the wheel-on-rail train, because there are no wheels running along the rail. However, noises due to aero-dynamic disturbance and electrical system such as VVVF inverter and SLIM still occur. In this study, the Maglev cabin noises are measured during running and zero speed conditions. Pass-by noise measurements are performed to obtain outside noise during the operation of the train on the test tract. Data include a single microphone measurement as well as microphone array measurements. The array data are useful for sound source localization and more detailed noise reduction planning.

When a train moves on rails, wheel and rail vibrate to produce contact noise and contact force. The former results in airborne noise and the latter transmits through bogie and excites carbody to generate structure borne noise. In this paper, wheel vibration is studied by theoretical and experimental approaches. Theoretical analysis is performed by finite element method and experimental analysis is performed by impact test. Using modal analysis and model tunning, we could have good agreement between the two approaches.

An analysis model has been developed to assess running safety of railway vehicle passing curves. By using ADAMS/Rail, a computer analysis has been conducted by changing various parameters according to the track conditions. Analysis results show as follows: A derailment coefficient of left wheel was increased according to increase of cant at low speed, while it was decreased as increase of cant at high speed. A unload rate of left wheel was also increased according to increase of cant at low speed, while it was decreased as increase of cant at high speed. A wear number of left wheel was increased according to increase of cant at all speed, but only at 35 m/s, it was decreased as increase of cant. A friction coefficient of left wheel was Increased according to increase of cant at all speed, but only at 35 m/s. it was decreased as increase of cant.

In this paper, the results of an analysis of the dynamic behavior of the eddy current brake(ECB) system are presented. The measured irregularity of the track in Korean high speed line and the track irregularity given by ERRI(high level) were used for simulation. The wheel-rail profile combination were analyzed with different rail gauges. A model of the bogie with an substitute body for the carbody was implemented in the Multi-body-Simulation Program SIMPACK. The ECB frame was modelled both as flexible body and as rigid body. Four different driving conditions were analyzed. In this study dynamic behavior in general were performed to evaluate the design of eddy current brake system and specially the effect of damper was also studied. A comparison of simulations with and without damper shows that the damper have most effect for lower speed. The simulation results will be verified by comparison with measured data from on line test and also used for improving design.

Corrugation of railway track can be caused by the various dynamic behavior of travelling wheels and track. In this paper, the coupled vibrations of travelling wheel and railway track are analyzed as the cause of corrugations. To analyze the coupled vibrations, the track supported by the sleepers and the traveling wheel are identified to the elastically supported infinite beam and the spring-mass system which runs at constant speed. The Hertzian contact spring is considered betwen the infinite beam and spring-mass system. The dynamic responses of elastically supported infinite beam and spring-mass system are calculated. The cause and development of rail corrugation are discussed in the view point of contact force fluctuation affected by the elastic supports and the corrugated surface profile of the track. By the obtained results, the possibilities of resonance are checked between the excitation by the corrugated surface profile and the natural frequency of contact spring-moving mass system. It may be thought to a development of railway corrugation.

The more sophisticated patterns of propagation model is presented in this paper, which includes three different source characteristics. The spherical, cosine and dipole radiation characteristics compared and sound event level and the maximum sound level are calculated by experiment and calculation. It is shown that patterns of propagation has dipole characteristics for low speed range(below about 150km/h) at electric multiple system. We know that push-pull high speed system(maximum speed: 300km/h) has cosine characteristics of noise propagation. For this purpose, We conduct the experiment of noise and know the empirical formula of noise level and radiation coefficient K. This model of simulation is conducted through point source array model at wheel/rail contact point by using program and experimental formula. We can guess prediction of profile, flat and wear of wheel by above modeling in near field.
Railway noise and vibration has been recognized as major problems with the speed-up of rolling stock. As a kind of solution to these problems, the decrease of stiffness of track pad have been tried. However, in this case, overturning of rail due to lateral force should be considered because it can have effect on the safety of running train. Therefore, above two things - decrease of stiffness of track pad and overturning of rail due to lateral force - should be considered simultaneously for the appropriate determination of spring coefficient of track pad. With this viewpoint, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated through the comparison between the theoretical relationship about the overturning of rail and 3-dimensional FE analysis result. Two kinds of Lateral force and wheel load are used as input loads. Extracted values from the conventional estimation formula and the Shinkansen design loads are used. It is found that the overturning of rail changes corresponding to the change of the stiffness of track pad and the ratio of lateral force to wheel load. Moreover, it is found that the analysis model can have influence on the results. Through these procedure, minimum spring coefficient of track pad is estimated.

The noise of the subway has become a social issue and includes very complex reasons. The friction between rail and train wheel is the most important reason of the noise. In this study, we developed MFI(Multi Fluid Injection) System which sprays the mixed fluid(water, anticorrosive and lubricant) on the rail when the train is approaching to reduce the friction. To verify the system's effect, we measured the internal and external noise of the running train. The measured and analyzed results show that MFI system reduce the noise of the running subway.
With the rapid development of rail transit, rail transit noise needs to be paid more and more attention. In order to accurately and effectively analyze the characteristics of low-frequency noise, a prediction model of vibration of box girder was established based on the hybrid FE-SEA method. When the train speed is 140 km/h, 200 km/h and 250 km/h, the vibration and noise of the box girder induced by the vertical wheel-rail interaction in the frequency range of 20-500 Hz are analyzed. Detailed analysis of the energy level, sound pressure contribution, modal analysis and vibration loss power of each slab at the operating speed of 140 km /h. The results show that: (1) When the train runs at a speed of 140km/h, the roof contributes more to the sound pressure at the far sound field point. Analyzing the frequency range from 20 to 500 Hz: The top plate plays a very important role in controlling sound pressure, contributing up to 70% of the sound pressure at peak frequencies. (2) When the train is traveling at various speeds, the maximum amplitude of structural vibration and noise generated by the viaduct occurs at 50 Hz. The vibration acceleration of the box beam at the far field point and near field point is mainly concentrated in the frequency range of 31.5-100 Hz, which is consistent with the dominant frequency band of wheel-rail force. Therefore, the main frequency of reducing the vibration and noise of the box beam is 31.5-100 Hz. (3) The vibration energy level and sound pressure level of the box bridge at different speeds are basically the same. The laws of vibration energy and sound pressure follow the rules below: web
