The purposes of this study were to analyze 'well-being' lifestyle pursuits depending on consumer types and to classify female consumer types according to their 'well-being' awareness. This study also intended to examine the levels of consumers' participation in pursuing a 'well-being' lifestyle, and to find female consumers' characteristics related to well-being lifestyle. The results of study were as follows: First, female consumers were classified in terms of their lifestyle by using their participation in, and awareness of well-being concerns. The results were divided into four groups: society/family-oriented group, 'well-being' oriented leading group, trend-oriented material wealth pursuit group, and selt~centered/fashionable appearance-oriented group. Second, the results of examining characteristics by female consumer type in terms of their pursuit of a well-being lifestyle show that the 'well-being' oriented leading group had the greatest number of innovators and followers. Also, the trend-oriented material wealth pursuit group consisted of mostly medium level participants, and the self-centered/fashionable appearance-oriented group had the greatest number of 'well-being' lifestyle bystanders. With regards to practical participation group, significant differences were found in the sections of 'health', 'leisure' and 'whole', except for 'appearance management'. With regards to purchase experience of 'well-being' products, the health-oriented leading group was the highest participation level in the sections of 'clothes' and 'food', except for 'residence', in which the society/family-oriented group was the highest. Third, demographical characteristics within female consumer types classified by 'well-being' lifestyle showed that the society/family-oriented group had a high percent of. dedicated housewives in their forties or fifties, and the trend-oriented material wealth pursuit group has a high percent of married people in their twenties or thirties. Also, the self-oriented/fashionable appearance-oriented group had a high percent of unmarried. people in their twenties.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify stress levels due to end-of-life care, coping strategies, and psychological well-being among nurses in neonatal intensive care unit, and to investigate the effect of stress levels and coping strategies on their well-being. Methods: A total of 128 nurses in the neonatal intensive care units of general hospitals in B city participated. The data were collected using a self-report questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, ANOVA, the Pearson correlation coefficient, and hierarchical regression with SPSS version 22.0. Results: The coping strategy that nurses most often used was seeking social support. The factors affecting the well-being of the participants were wishful thinking, problem-focused coping and seeking social support, in order. Those 3 variables explained 21 % of the total variance in psychological well-being. Problem-focused coping and seeking social support were positively associated with psychological well-being, while wishful thinking showed a negative association. Conclusion: In order to improve the psychological well-being of nurses in neonatal intensive care units, it is necessary to provide nurses with a program to build a social support system and to improve their problem-based coping skills.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a self-transcendence enhancement program and examine its effect on self-transcendence, spiritual well-being, and psychological well-being in elderly women who live alone. Methods: A self-transcendence enhancement program was developed through theory, literature review, and in-depth interviews. The theoretical framework came from the Psychoeducational Approach to Transcendence and Health intervention model based on Reed's middle-range theory of self-transcendence. The program consisted of multiple modalities in a structured, theory-based program lasting for eight weekly sessions. Using a single-group pretest-posttest design, the program was tested on a group of 40 elderly women aged 75 to 84 years living alone in Daejeon, Korea. Participants completed self-reported study questionnaires before and after the program at the elderly welfare center. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0, with significance level set at .05. Paired t-test was used to compare mean differences before and after the program. Results: The mean age of the study participants was 79.1 years. After completing the program, the participants showed higher levels of self-transcendence (t=8.78, p<.001), overall spiritual well-being (t=8.30, p=.002), religious spiritual well-being (t=1.79, p=.040), existential spiritual well-being (t=6.75, p=.002), and positive affect (t=3.77, p=.001) than they did before the program. They also reported lower levels of depression (t=-7.59, p<.001) and negative affect (t=-6.15, p<.001). Conclusion: The self-transcendence enhancement program developed in this study may be effective for improving the level of self-transcendence in elderly women living alone and helping them to attain spiritual and psychological well-being.
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the factors influencing the well-being of middle-aged non-shift female workers using health-determinant models. Methods: This study analyzed data from the fifth Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS), involving 5,449 participants. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis was employed to examine the relationships between various factors and well-being. Results: The analysis identified key factors affecting well-being in middle-aged female non-shift workers, including supervisor support, presenteeism, satisfaction with the working environment, autonomy in working hours, support from coworkers, workplace discrimination, occupation, work-life balance, sleep problems, workplace size, weekly work hours, and sickness absence. This study confirms that the well-being of middle-aged non-shift female workers is influenced by factors at the individual, social, and community levels as well as by conditions related to love. Conclusion: To enhance the well-being of middle-aged female non-shift workers, it is essential to reinforce positive factors such as support from coworkers and superiors. Additionally, addressing and mitigating negatively influencing factors such as workplace discrimination and sleep problems is crucial in promoting well-being. By implementing measures to improve these aspects, organizations and policymakers can contribute to a healthier and more supportive work environment for middle-aged, non-shift female workers.
The purpose of this research is to study the need for living and the relationship between the need and the perceived family well-being among families in rural areas and to suggest the index of the family well-being for them. One hundred fifty homemakers in the six rural areas in Chunlabuk-do were sampled for this research and all of them were aged under 60. Data were statistically analized by using statistical softwere package 'Statgraphics' and null jhyposeses were statistically tested at p<.10. From the results of this study, rural homemakers reported, generally, higher levels of the need for the various aspects of family living compared to those of the perceived levels of the family well-being. The need, the satisfaction and the dissatisfaction levels of the various aspects of family oiving were affected more frequently by living area, average monthly income, and the period of living whitin the same area. The satisfaction with the family well-being and living in rural area were affected more powerfully by subvariables related to the family financial living than by any other variables. The need for economic environment, the satisfaction with perceived level of assets, and income were major representative variables for the family finances. In case of the family interpersonal living, the need and the satisfaction with relationship between spouses and the family structure were more powerful varibales than any other variables. The relationship betweenparents and children was more powerful variable for the perceived family well-being than any other variables related to the family interpersonal living. Sampled homemakers thought that the satisfaction with relationship between spouses was the most important in family interpersonal living. The needs for household equipment and living conditions was positively influenced on the need of household work and the satisfaction with those was negatively influnced on satisfaction with present household work.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to elucidate the effects of spiritual nursing intervention on the spiritual well being and depression levels of hospice patients. Method: The data for this study were collected from 62 patients who were admitted to the hospice care unit from July 28, 2002 to October 31, 2002 in D city K hospital. Subjects were 31 members of the experimental group and 31 members of the control group. It was devised with a nonequivalent control group pretest posttest design. The spiritual nursing intervention was given by using the therapeutic use of self. Scripture. prayer. Hymn and music. use of church community involvement and referrals to pastors according to the assessment of patients' spiritual needs for 3 weeks(total 12 times and 1 hour per each intervention). Sangsoon Choi (1990) and Jungho Kang(1996)'s spiritual well being scale. which was modified from Palautzian and Ellison (1982)'s spiritual well being scale, was used to investigate patients' spiritual well being. To investigate the level of depression. OkHyun Song(1977)'s Depression Scale, which was modified from Zung(1965)'s Depression Inventory, was used. Data were analyzed by $x^2$-test. t-test. and repeated measures ANOVA with SPSS/Win 10.0 program. Results: 1. The 1st hypothesis. 'total spiritual well being score in the experimental group, who received the spiritual nursing intervention, will be higher than the control group who did not receive the spiritual nursing intervention' was supported (F=6.28, p=0.015, Interaction: p=0.000). 2. The 1 lst sub hypothesis, 'religious well being score in the experimental group, who received the spiritual nursing intervention, will be higher than the control group who did not receive the spiritual nursing intervention' was supported(F=12.75, p=0.001 Interaction: p=0.000). 3. The 1 2nd sub hypothesis, 'existential well being score in the experimental group, who received the spiritual nursing intervention, will be higher than the control group who did not receive the spiritual nursing intervention' was supported(F=6.87, p=0.016, Interaction: p=0.000). 4. The 2nd hypothesis, 'depression level in the experimental group, who received the spiritual nursing intervention, will be lower than the control group who did not receive the spiritual nursing intervention' was supported (F=10.45, p=0.002, Interaction: p=0.000). Conclusion: From the above results, spiritual nursing intervention was an effective program to improve the spiritual well being state and decrease the depression levels of the hospice patients. In the future, with spiritual intervention. which the researcher developed, is applied in the nursing field, the hospice patients can have comprehensive well being including spiritual well being and die peacefully.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of temperament and stress coping strategies on adolescents' psychological well-being. Three hundred and ninety nine middle and high school students in Seoul participated in this study. Temperament, stress coping strategies, and psychological well-being were evaluated by self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed using Cronbach's alpha, frequencies, percentiles, means, standard deviations, two-way ANOVAs, Pearson's correlations and hierarchical multiple regression analyses. The results were as follows: First, there were significant differences in psychological well-being as a function of gender and school levels. Second, temperament and stress coping strategies were related to psychological well-being in adolescents. In the sub factor of temperament, activity and persistency were positively associated with psychological well-being, whereas rigidity was negatively related to psychological well-being. Among stress coping strategies, problem-focused strategy was positively associated with psychological well-being, whereas emotion-discharge strategy and affective-regulation strategy were negatively related to psychological well-being. Third, hierarchical multiple regression revealed that problem-focused strategy and emotion-discharge strategy were influential factors in explaining the level of psychological well-being controlling for gender, school levels and temperament of the adolescents. These findings suggest that stress coping strategy should be considered to promote the level of psychological well-being of adolescents.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between family, work experiences and psychological well-being among employed wives. Data were collected from 258 full-time employed wives in dual-earner families. 63.6% of respondents were in their 30s and 36.4% in their 40s. Educational and income level was above average. Employed wives experienced higher levels of stress and satisfaction in parenting than in marital relationships and work. The findings of this study indicated that higher levels of marital stress and parenting stress were negatively related to work satisfaction for employed wives in dual-earner couples. Work stress had negative effects on parenting satisfaction. However, marital satisfaction was not influenced by parenting stress and work stress. The results of the regression analysis revealed that marital, work and parenting satisfaction were significant predictors of psychological well-being of employed wives. The size of effects were found to be greater for marital and work satisfaction than for parenting satisfaction.

Ryff's(1989) psychological well-being measure is used to assess and sometimes compare Korean and American adults, however, there is no information regarding whether its dimensions are psychometrically invariant across, whether its items provide sufficient information for, and whether each item measures identical trait levels in, the two nations. Confirmatory factor analysis on response 1,696 Korean and 3,669 American adults, gave to the measure revealed lack of fit and absence of factorial invariance across the two nations. Item response theory revealed significant variance for items on each factor across two countries that most items yielded limited psychometric information. And that each item measure different trait levels, suggesting that in its present form, the measure might lead to misleading results for, and across the two nations.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of job satisfaction, self-encouragement, and subjective well-being of public kindergarten teachers. To achieve this, a questionnaire was given to 121 teachers in public kindergartens, and the data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and independent-sample t-tests. The main results of this study are as follows: First, job satisfaction, self-encouragement, and subjective well-being of the teachers were above medium level, while negative affect was lower. Second, public kindergarten teachers with higher job satisfaction showed significantly higher subjective well-being than those with lower job satisfaction. Third, teachers with higher levels of self-encouragement showed significantly higher subjective well-being than those with lower job satisfaction. Fourth, in the case of teachers with higher job satisfaction, those with higher levels of self-encouragement showed significantly higher subjective well-being than those with lower levels. The results suggest that the subjective well-being of the teachers depends on the level of their job satisfaction and self-encouragement, and that even if they do have low job satisfaction, high self-encouragement could have a positive effect for them. The results of this study are discussed, and suggestions provided for further research.
