선체 블록의 용접변형 예측 및 제어를 위한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction and Control of Welding Deformations of Ship Hull Blocks)

  • 선박 건조 시 발생하는 용접변형은 블록의 정도를 떨어뜨리고 교정작업으로 인한 생산성 저하의 요인이 되고 있다. 따라서 설계 단계에서 변형을 최소화 할 수 있는 작업기준을 마련한다면 생산성 증대는 물론 품질의 향상을 가져올 수 있을 것이다. 여기에는 먼저 블록의 조립과정에 따른 변형을 예측할 수 있는 정확하고 효율적인 방법이 마련되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 고유변형도 이론과 유한요소 해석을 결합한 효율적인 변형예측 기법을 제안하였다. 고유변형도는 간이 열탄소성 해석 결과 최고온도 분포와 구속도에 의해 결정된다. 따라서 용접 열전도 해석과 구조물의 조립과정에 따른 구속도 계산을 수행하여 실제 구조물에 발생하는 고유변형도를 정확히 구하고자 하였다. 이를 이용하여 보강판의 변형 예측을 구현하였고 간단한 선체 블록에 적용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • 극저온 온도 구조 재료의 중요한 기계적 성질 중 하나는 파괴 인성이다. 파괴 인성 시험 방법의 규격화에 대한 연구는 극저온 구조 요소의 개발과 함께 매우 중요한 문제가 되고 있다. 특히 용접부의 경우 극저온 환경 하에서 사용할 때 불안정파괴를 유발할 수 있기 때문에 용접부의 각 미세조직에 따른 기계적 성질 평가가 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 STS-316L 모재와 용접재를 대상으로 액체질소(77K), 액체헬륨(4K), 293K 온도에서 제하컴플라이언스법과 예민화 열처리한 소형화된 시험편 대상으로 파괴인성평가 실험을 수행하였다.

  • In finite element analysis of mechanical behavior of weld, typical process is first to obtain a finite element model containing residual stress by conducting welding analysis and then to examine the computational specimen for various external loading. The numerical specimen with residual stress has irregular boundary lines since one usually begins the welding analysis from a body having regular straight boundary lines and large thermal contraction takes place during cooling of weld metal. We notice that these numerical weld specimens are different from the real weld specimens as the real specimens are usually cut from a bigger weld part and consequently have straight boundaries neglecting elastic relaxation associated with the cutting. In this paper, an iterative finite element method is described to obtain a weld specimen which is bounded by straight lines. The stress distributions of two types of weld specimen, one with regular and the other with irregular boundaries, are compared to check the effect of the boundary shape. Results show that the stress distribution can be different when large plastic deformation is induced by the application of external loading. In case of elastic small deformation, the difference turns out almost negligible.

  • Injection molding is the most widely used process fir the industrial forming of plastic articles. During an injection molding process of composites, the fiber-matrix separation and fiber orientation are caused by the flow of molten polymer/fiber mixture. As a result. the product tends to be nonhomogeneous and anisotropic. Hence, it is very important to clarify the relations between separation orientation and injection molding conditions. So far, there is no research on the measurement of fiber orientation using image processing. In this study, the effects of fiber content ratio and molding condition on the fiber orientation-angle distributions are studied experientially. Using the image processing method, the fiber orientation distribution of welding pars in injection-molded products is assessed. And the effects of fiber content and injection mold shapes on the fiber orientation in case of fiber reinforced polymeric composites are studied experimentally.

가변직경을 갖는 자동차용 카울크로스바의 복합인발공정 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Combined Drawing Process for Automotive Cowl Cross Bar with Variable Diameters)

  • The cowl cross bar of an automobile is a frame component that is installed inside the cockpit module to provide a guide surface, to which functional components for electricity and air condition are attached. In the recent years, the geometries of cowl cross bars are getting more complex in order to meet the demands of a wide variety of embedded functional components and the reduced weight of frame parts with enhanced mechanical and noise/vibration characteristics. There for, welding processes between tubes with different diameters are widely conducted while the welded parts are experiencing various problems such as undermined appearance, low production efficiency and poor mechanical characteristics. Therefore, this paper seeks to develop an one-piece forming process which eliminate welding process for the cowl cross bar by applying the tube drawing process. However, it was predicted that a conventional tube drawing can not be applied directly to the current part since the area reduction ratio of the drawing process reaches 51.7% which exceeds the general limiting value. Therefore, in this study, a combined drawing process which adds a compressive force to a tensile force of the conventional drawing process was proposed and 2-stage drawing process was designed by using CAE analyses. In addition, drawing tryouts were carried out by using the manufactured combined drawing machine in order to verify the designed process.

모 금속 제조 업체에서 5년간 발생한 안전사고에 관한 조사 (A Study on Safety Accidents Occurred for 5 Years at a Welding Material Manufacturing Factory)

  • To assess the status of safety accidents, authors reviewed and analysed the records of safety accidents of a welding material manufacturing factory at Pohang city from January 1989 to December 1993. The results are; 1. The total incidence of safety accidents was 295 spells for five years. 2. Average age of workers with accident was 35.7 years. Average duration of employment was 6.2 years and the duration of employment increased as the year increased. 3. There was no statistical significance on season, month, weekday and time by year in the incidence of safety accidents. The most frequent part of body injured was upper extremities and the most frequent type of injury was abrasion. 4. Mean admission rate of safety accidents was 12.6% and the ratio of treated spells as occupational injury was 7.8%. 5. The most frequent cause of injury was worker's mistake and the most frequent action for the prevention of further accidents was safety education. 6. The incidence rate of safety accidents on 1993 was 116.2 spells per 1,000 persons. Above results suggest that to prevent safety accidents, safety education should be done continuously, the environmental and human factors were controlled and more exact reporting system of safety accidents was needed.

  • Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic.   • In this study, Microstructure and hardness of 1st layer with crystallographic orientation were investigated about solidification structure in multipass weld using high Mn-Ni flux cored wire. Microstructure of solidification consisted of austenite matrix and a little ${\varepsilon}-phase$ in grain boundaries. Orientation of grains was usually (001), (101), (111). According to crystallographic orientation, morphology of primary dendrite was different. The depletion of Fe and the segregation of Mn, C, Ni, Si, Cu, Cr, O were found along the grain boundaries. The area of segregation was wide with an order of (001), (101), (111) grains. And hardness of grains with crystallographic orientation increased with an order of (001), (101), (111) grains because of the segregation along dendrite boundary.

고유변형도를 경계조건으로 갖는 대형 각(殼) 구조물 열변형 해석법 개발 (Development of Thermal Distortion Analysis Method on Large Shell Structure Using Inherent Strain as Boundary Condition)

  • There are two ways of conventional thermal distortion analysis. One is the thermal elasto-plastic analysis and the other is the equivalent forces method based on inherent strain. The former needs exorbitant analysis time, while the latter cannot obtain results of stress field and it needs much time consumption with loads modeling on curved plates. Such faults in two methods have made difficulties in thermal distortion analysis of a large structure like ship hull. In order to solve them, new kind of thermal distortion analysis method was developed. We devised that the inherent strains was used as direct input factors in forms of boundary conditions. It was embodied by using thermal expansion coefficient in commercial code. We used the pre-calculated inherent strain as thermal expansion coefficient, and endowed nodes with imaginary temperatures. This method was already adopted at hull block welding distortion analysis which was considered as impossible, and gave productive results such as reduction of work time in the dry dock.
