During the construction of cable stayed bridge, errors are always caused by various reasons, accumulated and amplified through the complex construction steps. It is likely that the undesirable stress distribution of members and the large deflection of the bridge different from design values come out The adjustment of cables during construction is absolutely indispensable to correct the stress distribution of the members and the geometrical configuration of the bridge. In the conventional method, weight coefficients are used to consider the difference of units between cable forces and girder deflections during the optimization process of cable adjustment. However, it is not easy to determine weight coefficients and the adjustment must be repeated several times with the time consuming process of the determination of new weight coefficients in case that errors are out of design allowable limits. In this paper, fuzzy linear regression analysis is applied to the cable adjustment to overcome those problems. In the application of fuzzy linear regression analysis method the designer's intention and the design allowable limits can be formulated in the form of the constraints of the linear optimization problem. Therefore, the cable adjustment in construction site can be carried out with the fuzzy linear regression analysis more rapidly than with the convetional method.

A MDO study of a midium-sized solar powered High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) UAV has been performed, focused on energy balance. In the MDO process, Vortex Lattice Method(VLM) is employed for the aerodynamic modeling of the vehicle, of which structural weight is estimated with the modeling proposed by Cruz. Tail volume ratios have been set as constants, while the location of tail surfaces is determined from longitudinal static stability criterion. By balancing the available energy from solar cells, battery, and altitude, with the energy-requirement of the vehicle, the possibility of continuous flight over 24-hours has been investigated. The solar radiation level is set as that of summer at the latitude of $36^{\circ}$ north. During the daytime, the aircraft climbs using solar energy, accumulating potential energy, which supplements energy balance during the night. Optimizations have been sought in size of the vehicle, its weight distribution, and flight strategy.
As a result of intensive breeding, litter size has considerably increased in pig production over the last three decades. This has resulted in an increase in farrowing complications. Prolonged farrowing will shorten the window for suckling colostrum and reduce the chances for high-quality colostrum intake. Studies also agree that increasing litter sizes concomitantly resulted in decreased piglet birth weight and increased within-litter birth weight variations. Birth weight, however, is one of the critical factors affecting the prognosis of colostrum intake, and piglet growth, welfare, and survival. Litters of uneven birth weight distribution will suffer and lead to increased piglet mortality before weaning. The proper management is key to handle the situation. Feeding strategies before farrowing, management routines during parturition (e.g., drying and moving piglets to the udder and cross-fostering) and feeding an energy source to piglets after birth may be beneficial management tools with large litters. Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1)-driven recovery from energy losses during lactation appears critical for supporting follicle development, the viability of oocytes and embryos, and, eventually, litter uniformity. This paper explores certain management routines for neonatal piglets that can lead to the optimization of their colostrum intake and thereby their survival in large litters. In addition, this paper reviews the evidence concerning nutritional factors, particularly lactation feeding that may reduce the loss of sow body reserves, affecting the growth of the next oocyte generation. In conclusion, decreasing birth weight and compromised immunity are subjects warranting investigation in the search for novel management tools. Furthermore, to increase litter uniformity, more focus should be placed on nutritional factors that affect IGF-1-driven follicle development before ovulation.

The purpose of optimum design for structures is to minimize the cost and to obtain the reasonable structural systems. This design algorithm have many objective functions including discrete variables as sections, weight, stiffness and shapes. Simulated annealing, Genetic algorithm and TABU algorithm are used search for these optimum values in the structural design. TABU algorithm is applied to many types structures to search for section and distribution optimization and compared with the results of Genetic algorithm for evaluating the efficiency of this algorithm. In this paper, the plane truss of 10 elements and the space truss of 25 element having 10 nodes, star dome and cable dome are analyzed as analytical models.
IChinese postman problem is one of the classical combinatorial optimization problems with many applications. However, in application, some uncertain factors are frequently encountered. This paper employs uncertain programming to deal with Chinese postman problem with uncertain weight Within the framework of uncertainty theory, the concepts of expected shortest route, ${\alpha}$-shortest route, and distribution shortest route are proposed. After that, expected shortest model, and ${\alpha}$-shortest model are constructed. Taking advantage of properties of uncertainty theory, these models can be transf-ormed into their corresponding deterministic forms, which can be solved by classical algorithm..
River sand has generally used for the backfill material of underground power cables. The thermal resistivity of it has $150^{\circ}C$-cm/Watt in wet condition and more than double in dry condition. The final goal of this study is to find the backfill material which has a small change in thermal resistivity with various water contents, for example thermal resistivity is $50^{\circ}C$-cm/Watt and $100^{\circ}C$-cm/Watt in wet and dry conditions respectively. In this study it is presented that the comparison of thermal resistivity using stone powder, crush rock, weathered granite soil and Jumunjin sand as well as river sand in the needle method regarding water content, dry unit weight and particle size distribution. As a result, the thermal resistivity of a material is minimized when they have maximum dry unit weight at optimum moisture content and maximum density by appropriately mixing materials for particle size distribution. Therefore thermal resistivity characteristics should be considered two factors: one is the difference between natural dry condition and dry state after optimum moisture content, and the other is the difference between unit weight of raw material and maximum dry density.

Korean Black body fowl (Gallus gallus domesticus; Ogae) designated as a natural monument (registration number 265) has been known as a superb traditional Korean medicine. In this study, The production of peptide from the Viscera Waste of Yeonsan Ogae was optimized using commercial protease (bromelain) by response surface methodology under high pressure process. The range of processes was pressure (30 to 100 MPa), reaction time (1 to 5 h), and substrate concentration (10 to 30%, w/v). After reaction, the degree of hydrolysis, distribution of amino acids, and molecular weight of peptides were investigated. As a results, the optimization conditions were pressure 90 MPa, reaction time 3 to 4 h, and the amount of viscera meat 20% (w/v), respectively. The molecular weight of protein hydrolysates was distributed 400 to 1,000 Da. Accordingly we presumed that most products were peptides. Of those peptides, nonpolar or hydrophobic, polar but uncharged, positively charged, and negatively charged amino acids were 42.03, 26.0, 13.3, and 18.6%, respectively. Because higher amount of hydrophobic amino acids, we expected that those products would be able to utilize as the functional food ingredients.

This research article explores the application of Polymer of Intrinsic Microporosity (PIM-1) as a cutting-edge material for CO2 gas separation membranes in response to the escalating global concern over climate change and the imperative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The study delves into the synthesis, molecular weight control, and fabrication of PIM-1 membranes, providing comprehensive insights through various characterization techniques. The intrinsic microporosity of PIM-1, arising from its unique crosslinked and rigid structure, is harnessed for selective gas permeation, particularly of carbon dioxide. The article emphasizes the tunable chemical properties of PIM-1, allowing for customization and optimization of gas separation membranes. By controlling the molecular weight, higher molecular weight (H-PIM-1) membranes are demonstrated to exhibit superior CO2 permeability and selectivity compared to lower molecular weight counterparts (L-PIM-1). The study's findings highlight the critical role of molecular weight in tailoring PIM-1 membrane properties, contributing to the advancement of next-generation membrane technologies for efficient and selective CO2 capture-an essential step in addressing the pressing global challenge of climate change.
Today, the use of composite materials become an essential part in the design and manufacturing process of the flight vehicles to reduce the structural weight. Since the structural properties can be varied largely due to the stacking sequence of ply angles, it is very important problem to determine the optimized ply angles under a design objective. Thus, in this study, the analysis of static aeroelastic optimization of a composite wing has been performed. An analytical system to calculate and optimize tile aero-structural equilibrium position has been developed and incorporated with the genetic algorithm. The effects of stacking sequence on the structural deformation and aerodynamic distribution have been studied and calculated with the condition of minimum structural deformation for a swept-back composite wing. For the set of practical stacking angles, the design results to maximize the performance of static aeroelasticity are also presented.
We developed the Aviation Convective Index (ACI) for predicting deep convective area using the operational global Numerical Weather Prediction model of the Korea Meteorological Administration. Seasonally optimized ACI (ACISnOpt) was developed to consider seasonal variabilities on deep convections in Korea. Yearly optimized ACI (ACIYrOpt) in Part 1 showed that seasonally averaged values of Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) and True Skill Statistics (TSS) were decreased by 0.420% and 5.797%, respectively, due to the significant degradation in winter season. In Part 2, we developed new membership function (MF) and weight combination of input variables in the ACI algorithm, which were optimized in each season. Finally, the seasonally optimized ACI (ACISnOpt) showed better performance skills with the significant improvements in AUC and TSS by 0.983% and 25.641% respectively, compared with those from the ACIYrOpt. To confirm the improvements in new algorithm, we also conducted two case studies in winter and spring with observed Convectively-Induced Turbulence (CIT) events from the aircraft data. In these cases, the ACISnOpt predicted a better spatial distribution and intensity of deep convection. Enhancements in the forecast fields from the ACIYrOpt to ACISnOpt in the selected cases explained well the changes in overall performance skills of the probability of detection for both "yes" and "no" occurrences of deep convection during 1-yr period of the data. These results imply that the ACI forecast should be optimized seasonally to take into account the variabilities in the background conditions for deep convections in Korea.
