XML Language for Generating J2ME MIDlet User Interfaces (J2ME MIDlet 사용자 인터페이스 자동생성을 위한 XML언어)

  • Many XML-compliant UIDLs(User Interface Description Languages) have been developed to specify user interfaces. Although previous UIDLs are helpful to describe user interfaces of web and desktop applications, they are not available of developing UI of mobile applications. In this paper, in order to effectively specify user interfaces of MIDlet which is application model on J2ME(Java Platform, Micro Edition), we propose MIML(Midlet Interface Markup Language) and present transformation rules to generate source codes from MIML. Further, we enhance the usability of MIML through J2MERenderer which is a tool using presented rules. The proposed method can specify user interfaces of mobile applications and allow developers to keep productivity and consistency in development phase.

Web-based 3D Virtual Experience using Unity and Leap Motion (Unity와 Leap Motion을 이용한 웹 기반 3D 가상품평)

  • In order to realize the virtual prototyping (VP) of digital products, it is important to provide the people involved in product development with the appropriate visualization and interaction of the products, and the vivid simulation of user interface (UI) behaviors in an interactive 3D virtual environment. In this paper, we propose an approach to web-based 3D virtual experience using Unity and Leap Motion. We adopt Unity as an implementation platform which easily and rapidly implements the visualization of the products and the design and simulation of their UI behaviors, and allows remote users to get an easy access to the virtual environment. Additionally, we combine Leap Motion with Unity to embody natural and immersive interaction using the user's hand gesture. Based on the proposed approach, we have developed a testbed system for web-based 3D virtual experience and applied it for the design evaluation of various digital products. Button selection test was done to investigate the quality of the interaction using Leap Motion, and a preliminary user study was also performed to show the usefulness of the proposed approach.

  • According to International Data Corporation(IDC) showed that PC sales for the first time ahead of the global smart phone sales in the fourth quarter of 2010. This opportunity as a smart phone application and mobile web-sites has been launched to accelerate the development of mobile services in a variety of fields. In addition to the support plan for the activation of the local traditional market from the second half of 2012 to make it easier to find information on the traditional markets of the country expanded and reorganized the traditional market-related web-site, trying to catch the foot of the youth in the online. This study is to increase the number of tourists visiting the traditional market or local residents and young people and to provide a basis for the development of mobile UI design for mobile application to investigate the local traditional market apps that are currently available.

  • 최근 국내외 소프트웨어 개발 특성의 변화인 잦은 요구사항의 변경, 단축된 비즈니스 라이프사이클, 비용절감의 압력등과 맞물려 생산성을 높이기 위한 개발 접근방식이 요구되었으며, 소프트웨어의 재사용 및 높은 생산성을 제공할 수 있는 대표적인 방법이 디자인 패턴이다. 본 연구는 웹 어플리케이션 시스템 개발에 실제 적용가능한 UI디자인 패턴모델을 개발하기 위해 20개의 웹 어플리케이션 시스템을 표본으로 추출하여 1000여개의 단위업무화면을 분석하였다. 개발한 어플리케이션 UI 디자인 패턴 모델을 실무 전문가(UI디자이너, 개발자)들에게 이해도, 사용적합성, 생산성측면에서 검증하여 실무에 적용가능한 모델임을 객관적으로 증명하였다.

  • 디바이스 사용 환경이 다양해지면서 이를 고려한 반응형 UI/UX 개념이 대두되고 있다. 이를 위해 기존 데스크탑 기반의 UI에 국한되지 않고 다양한 모바일 디바이스 환경 및 사용자 특성을 고려한 적응적인 UI/UX를 제공해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-21을 기반으로 반응형 웹 UI/UX를 제공하는 새로운 프레임워크를 제안한다. 기존 반응형 웹 디자인은 주로 조합한 여러 단위 기술을 이용하여 해상도의 변화에 반응하여 엘리먼트를 적응 시키는 방법을 사용한다. 제안하는 기술은 단일 프레임워크를 이용하여 컨텐츠 및 리소스를 보다 다양한 환경 정보를 사용하여 적응시킨다. 이는 기존 방법과 비교하여 서비스 제공자가 많은 종류의 리소스 및 데이터를 서비스 함에 있어 3rd 파티 컨텐츠 프로바이더의 참여 및 수정이 용이하도록 하였으며 자동으로 사용자 환경을 파악하여 맞춤형 컨텐츠 제공이 가능하도록 한다.

  • The next generation Web 2.0 users are requiring a screen that satisfies visual and emotional factors regarding UI and the possibility of constant recognition about various information. To actively deal with these kinds of user demands, dual cooperation between the developer and designer is becoming more urgently needed. For this, Microsoft released Silverlight, a tool for when making a web presentation that enables persons to create a visually stunning webpage using diverse platforms and function. We applied clarity and animation to existing windows concepts, using Silverlight with which designers and developers can work together and is accessable to many development tools, and provided 3D effects to implement a Warehouse Management System.

  • A web-based platform for structural analysis has been developed. The proposed web-based platform is a 2-tier system composed o( client and server sides to reduce the overburden on the server side. Smart Client is applied for the client side to improve the handling speed and UI. For the server side, MSSQL is applied to deal with database and used as a storage for the web. XML WebService is adpoted for the networking between the client and the server. To examine the efficiency of the developed web-based platform a sample study is carried out with a nonlinear earthquake analysis on a SDOF system.

  • A web-based platform for nonlinear earthquake analysis on SDOF systems has been developed in the research. The proposed web-based platform is a 2-tier system composed of client and server sides. Smart Client is applied for the client side to improve the handling speed and UI compatible to the stand alone systems. For the server side, MSSQL is used as a storage for the web. XML WebService is adpoted for the networking between client and server. To examine the efficiency of the developed web-based platform, a trial study on a SDOF nonlinear structural system under earthquake excitation has been carried out.
