  • The purpose of this study is to explore possible ways to make a strategical use of CRM(Customer Relationship Management) for facilitating performing arts. In order to satisfy the purpose, this study investigated actual cases of CRM, primarily focusing on LG Art Center, one of representative performance venues in South Korea, and CREDIA, a performing art planning agency in South Korea. Here, it was found that LG Art Center operated its independent TMS(Theater Management System) and thereby could afford to successfully plan performing art programs on the basis of customer-oriented convenient ticketing system as well as a pile of customer information. On the other hand, CREDIA introduced advanced performance management system and has successfully attracted larger membership than before. Moreover, it organized specialized personnel in membership management and thereby could manage membership in systematic manner. And it was found that based on web log analysis, CREDIA developed a variety of products to comply with customer needs and thereby could realize higher returns and better customer satisfaction through cross-selling activities as well as performance ticketing. However, it was found that CREDIA still operated its membership system and mileage point system in stereotypes manner. Thus, it is required to operate differentiated membership system based on membership grades and diversify practical ways to save and use mileage points, so that CRM can be strategically applied to develop new audience and maintain loyal customers.

  • Many online stores bring features that can build trust in their customers. More so, the number of products or content services on online stores has been increasing rapidly. Hence, personalization on online stores is considered to be an important technology to companies and customers. Recommender systems that provide favorable products and customer product reviews to users are the most commonly used features in this purpose. There are many studies to that investigated the relationship between social presence as an antecedent of trust and provision of recommender systems or customer product reviews. Many online stores have made efforts to increase perceived social presence of their customers through customer reviews, recommender systems, and analyzing associations among products. Primarily because social presence can increase customer trust or reuse intention for online stores. However, there were few studies that investigated the interactions between recommendation type, product type and provision of customer product reviews on social presence. Therefore, one of the purposes of this study is to identify the effects of personalized recommender systems and compare the role of customer reviews with product types. This study performed an experiment to see these interactions. Experimental web pages were developed with $2{\times}2$ factorial setting based on how to provide social presence to users with customer reviews and two product types such as hedonic and utilitarian. The hedonic type was a ringtone chosen from Nate.com while the utilitarian was a TOEIC study aid book selected from Yes24.com. To conduct the experiment, web based experiments were conducted for the participants who have been shopping on the online stores. Participants were a total of 240 and 30% of the participants had the chance of getting the presents. We found out that social presence increased for hedonic products when personalized recommendations were given compared to non.personalized recommendations. Although providing customer reviews for two product types did not significantly increase social presence, provision of customer product reviews for hedonic (ringtone) increased perceived social presence. Otherwise, provision of customer product reviews could not increase social presence when the systems recommend utilitarian products (TOEIC study.aid books). Therefore, it appears that the effects of increasing perceived social presence with customer reviews have a difference for product types. In short, the role of customer reviews could be different based on which product types were considered by customers when they are making a decision related to purchasing on the online stores. Additionally, there were no differences for increasing perceived social presence when providing customer reviews. Our participants might have focused on how recommendations had been provided and what products were recommended because our developed systems were providing recommendations after participants rating their preferences. Thus, the effects of customer reviews could appear more clearly if our participants had actual purchase opportunity for the recommendations. Personalized recommender systems can increase social presence of customers more than nonpersonalized recommender systems by using user preference. Online stores could find out how they can increase perceived social presence and satisfaction of their customers when customers want to find the proper products with recommender systems and customer reviews. In addition, the role of customer reviews of the personalized recommendations can be different based on types of the recommended products. Even if this study conducted two product types such as hedonic and utilitarian, the results revealed that customer reviews for hedonic increased social presence of customers more than customer reviews for utilitarian. Thus, online stores need to consider the role of providing customer reviews with highly personalized information based on their product types when they develop the personalized recommender systems.

  • Most of the IS continuance research has assumed that IS use is activated by an intention to use, which in turn is determined by the evaluation of IS usage. Perceived usefulness is one of the evaluation variables most widely used. Typically, the past studies adopt this perceived usefulness because it views continuance as an extension of acceptance behavior. However, the literature on interpersonal relationships suggests that individuals are motivated to maintain relationships either because they genuinely want to or they believe they have no other option. The former is referred to as dedication-based relationship maintenance and the latter as constraint-based relationship maintenance. The IS continuance can be considered as the relationship maintenance situation with the existing IS that the user is currently using. The belief constructs previously used in IS continuance researches fall into the category of dedication-based ones. Additional constraint-based belief constructs are needed to explain the IS continuance behavior. In this regard, switching cost represents an important avenue for better understanding and predicting customer retention in that it can be regarded as the constraint-based motivation for relationship maintenance or IS use continuance. For an empirical exploration, 275 samples were collected from the users of a web portal site. Data analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) shows that perceived usefulness shows a significant direct effect on continuance intention while perceived switching cost significantly affects continuance usage.

  • Configuration is a set of building block processes, a series of selection and combining parts or components which composes a whole thing. A whole thing could be such a configurable object as manufacturing product, network system, financial portfolio, system development plan, project team, etc. Configuration problem could happen during any phase of product life cycle: design, production, sales, installation, and maintenance. Configuration has long been one of cost and time consuming work, because only high salaried technical experts on product and components can do configuration. Rework for error adjustments of configurations at later process causes far much cost and time, so accurate configuration is required. Under the on-line electronic commerce environment, configuration problem solving becomes more important, because component-based sales should be done automatically on the merchant web site. Automated product search, order placement, order fulfillment and payment make that manual configuration is no longer feasible. Automated configuration means that all the constraints among components should be checked and confirmed by configuration engine automatically. In addition, technical constraints and customer preferences like price range and a specific function required should be considered. This paper gives an brief overview of configuration problems: characteristics, representation paradigms, and solving algorithms and introduce CRSP(Constraint and Rule Satisfaction Problem) method. CRSP method adopts both constraint and rule for configuration domain knowledge representation. A survey and analysis on web sites adopting configuration functions are provided. Future directions of configuration for EC is discussed in the three aspects: methodology itself, companies adopting configuration function, and electronic commerce industry.

  • This paper proposes a BPM(Business Process Management) system framework for the NPD(New Product Development) of automotive suppliers. Recently many enterprises change their organization from function-oriented to process-oriented through BPR (Business Process Reengineering). Especially, based on quality systems like QS9000, it is required to documented business processes and continuously improve these processes for customer satisfaction. NPD, the most significant function for industrial competition, is reinforced by the best practices business process to satisfy the requirements of quality systems. The main objective of the paper is the development of the information system that supports the best practices process management. For this, first, we define the requirements of BPM system for NPD based on the viewpoint analysis, and then propose a DES (Design Execution System) framework based on dynamic workflow engine. The DES is addressed in the characteristics of a NPD business process, integrated project management, and process execution. A prototype DES system has been developed in the web environment. Its validity is demonstrated by applying it to an automotive supplier.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate contract foodservice's websites. The survey sample consisted of students majoring in food and nutrition having good knowledge of foodservice. The questionnaire requested information related to demographics, internet usage, contract foodservice company websites, and the evaluation of the websites. The data were analyzed using SPSS for windows(version 12.0). The results are summarized as follows. From the results of the factor analysis in evaluating the contract foodservice's websites, 7 factors were generated and were defined as technology & interactivity, customer service, interface, design & convenience, contents, communication, and offering of information. Of these, technology & interactivity(p<0.05), customer service(p<0.01), interface(p<0.05), design & convenience(p<0.001), content(p<0.01), communication(p<0.01), and offering of information(p<0.01) had a significant effects in terms of the on satisfaction with a website. Since the beta of the "design & convenience" factor(0.319) was the largest, it had the greatest effect on satisfaction. In the importance performance analysis, the respondents showed high recognition on the importance, but low recognition on the performance, of aspects such as menu composition, attraction of the website, offering a FAQ section, and the operation of Q&A. Also, the importance score for 'offered relevant websites' was significantly higher than the performance score. Therefore, contract foodservice companies should take into account these aspects for improving their websites.

  • Purpose: Trust plays an important role in e-commerce because consumers perceive more risk involved with this type of shopping than traditional way of shopping. Trust is defined as complex and multidimensional issue. This paper argues that trust should be considered to have two important components as trust belief and trust intention, in which trust belief has three components as competence, integrity and benevolence. Research design, data and methodology: This study examines the relationship between retailer website quality (web design, navigation, information), reputation and risk toward trust. In addition, trust and risk toward buying behavior are also considered, leading to customer satisfaction. The paper is conducted on a sample of 594 customers with direct experience of online shopping in Vietnam. Both confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and a structural equation model (SEM) were utilised. Results: Empirical findings from this paper indicate that trust is high order construct. Website quality and reputation have positive impacts on customers' trust. Trust has a positive relationship to buying behavior and customers' satisfaction while perceived risk has negative relationship to buying behavior. In contrast, a relationship between perceived risk and trust is not supported in this study. Conclusions: Improving reputation and website quality (especially information) may increase customers' trust and eventually lead to purchase decision.
