This research presents a performance assessment system of which the purpose is to increase the effectiveness of the instruction and learning through the on-the-job superintendent of the instructor, the self-directed learning of the learner, and the interaction between instructors and students. The presented performance assessment system applies the problem-based situated learning of the web-based performance assessment to the production, the execution, the assessment, and the transmission of the test. For the effective administration and learning in the school, we applies the Problem-Based Learning of constructivism and the web-based situated learning of the learning community to the system design. The production of the web-based performance assessment shows that the problem-based and self-directed learning of the assessment are achieved through the web-based automatic production of the performance assessment, and the contextual learning by case-based learning is performed by the production of the template of the performance assessment.

Web-based distance teacher training should focus on increasing self-directed problem solving skills of trainers by problem-based instruction(PBL). Performance assessment evaluates achievement of learning goals through the practical performance learning to solve problems in the real situation. This study proposes a web-based performance assessment model for the distance teacher training. It reflects fairness and objectiveness issues of performance assessment which elementary teachers are concerned about through the survey on distance teacher training, and relieves instructors from overload of managing and scoring performance tests. The proposed model provides problem-based learning situations, interactions between individuals and groups, and web-based cooperative evaluation and the peer evaluation.

In elementary moral education, performance assessment should be conducted in both cognitive, affective, and behavioral domains in harmony. The present study attempts to consider the features of performance assessment in elementary moral education; classify them by the types of assessment, and; implement and apply the web-based performance assessment system, in which teachers, students, and parents all participate. The development of this web-based performance assessment system for elementary moral education allowed the students to carry out the performance assessment process by themselves and to see the result no matter when and where they are. The students became interested in their own behavior, and the parents got to have a broader range of understanding for their children by participating in personal in the assessment procedure. The parents also realized that home guidance for their children's life habits became pretty easy. It is expected that the performance assessment system carried out based on the collaboration between the school and the family will be helpful in applying the contents of the moral subject studied at school and the relevant knowledge and skills to the actual life outside the school.

Web-based PMIS (Project Management Information System) has played significant role in construction management processes in Korea. As the use of web-based PMIS increases, regular quality assessment to identify user's requirements is necessary. However, there have been rare research efforts for quality assessment of web-based PMIS. This study aims to assess the quality of web-based PMIS, especially ASP-PMIS (Application Service Provider based PMIS) that is widely used in Korean construction industry. The assessment factors of ASP-PMIS quality were adopted from previous research and empirically confirmed using exploratory factor analysis. ISA (Importance-Satisfaction Analysis), which is a variation of original IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis), were selected for the assessment and analysis method in this research. A total of 253 completed questionnaires, composed of 23 assessment items, were collected from the ASP-PMIS users in Korea (construction managers and constructors), and they were used to analyse the quality of the systems. Some possible contributions of this research are: it introduces a simple and easy-to-use tool for assessing the quality of ASP-PMIS with a set of quality assessment factors that are selected from previous researches and empirically tested; it provides the quality assessment results of ASP-PMIS in Korea so that ASP-PMIS providers in Korea can understand the users' opinion on their systems; it also identified that the urgent factors that require immediate attention to improvement. However, further researches are to be required on the following areas: enhancing the quality assessment factors in terms of their relation to the success of ASP-PMIS and to the users' performance; assessing and analyzing the quality of individual ASP-PMIS; establishing continuous improvement systems institutionally and instrumentally.

Performance assessment is recognized as a proper evaluation method to integrate the teaching and learning process into the evaluation one and as an essential means to produce meaningful evaluation results. However, it has deteriorated into a teacher-centric evaluation method with the students excluded due to the cost and time issues and the heavy workload on the teachers. Those changes have affected the reliability of the assessment results. This study developed and applied a web-based performance assessment system by using Moodle, open source software, to help the teachers efficiently run performance assessment in school and the students increase their learning effects. As a result, it lifted the burden of system development from the shoulders of the teachers trying to do web-based performance assessment and solved the reliability issue raised in the old peer evaluation approach through diverse strategies offered by Moodle.

We have been setting in The age of Ubiquitous that people are able to connect networks whenever and wherever by developing network. We can take any classes anytime we want even right checking out the result of a test through the internet with the spread of networks. The development of net-works has created WBI(Web Based Instruction) which has covered the limit of conservative education for instance, there are some content differences whenever a teacher teaches for each class, it is hard to take a lesson after having a certain period, the process of the class is changed as time goes by and so on. As the study of WBI is actively being worked in this moment, a various of class models are showing and materializing. In WBI, the exiting Objective Checking Assessment is applicable, some of the Performance Assessment which inspects and judges students' actual performance is Working whereas teachers who actually give them points don't have a embodied Performance Assessment Program. In this paper, I will present a Performance Assessment to use conveniently Performance Assessment Program not just students carrying out Performance Assessment using the internet but also teachers dealing with actual administrative works.

Process management techniques are highly important in the construction industry. However, indicators or details of assessment which will show process management and its performance are still very insufficient. In particular, it is true that local corporations or small and medium sized companies suffer more difficulties than ones in metropolitan areas. Therefore, it is necessary to prepare a flexible process management and performance assessment system suited to field situations. This study identified problems of local small and medium sized companies, implemented a process and performance management system using the Lean concept, and systemized a web-based system. Also, the study proposed operational strategies so that small and medium construction companies may access and use the system easily. This will ensure the competitiveness of local small and medium sized companies, will pursue visible outcomes such as construction period reduction and construction cost reduction, and will be utilized as data related to performance assessment both during construction progress and after construction.

The purposes of this study were to: a) develop the quality assessment tool of Web-based Instruction (WBI) for nutrition education, b) evaluate the operated WBI (NutriZone) by this tool, and c) do the feasibility study about quality assessment tool for WBI by establishing the instruction and operating strategies. The developed quality assessment tool of WBI for nutrition education was divided into three categories of instruction design, contents and support ＆ operation. And a total of forty items were measured by Likert 5 point scale, computed as one point per item, and amounted to forty points in all. As a result of evaluation, NutriZone got 21.79 out of 40 points and fulfillment rate of 54.5%. The IPA (Importance-Performance Analysis) was applied to establish the instruction and operating strategies, and nine items characterized as attractiveness, multimedia, and learner-initiative were in 'Doing Great, Keep It Up', and so it was regar-ded as program designed with concern in WBI's characteristics unlike the conventional face-to-face education. But twelve items such as 'Errors on switch to other screens are few.', 'Ready correction leads to be out of systemic error.', 'Highlight marks and moving pictures were used in sign of importance.' and etc. that got high importance and low performance needed to be focused in instructional strategy.

Web-based analysis programs for reliability assessment of machine tools were developed in this study. First, the reliability data analysis program was developed to search for failure rate using failure data and reliability test data of mechanical part. Second, failure mode analysis was developed through performance tests like circular movement test vibration test for machine tools. This analysis program shows correlation between failure mode and performance test result. Third, tool life was predicted by correlation between flank wear and cutting time, using the extended Taylor tool life equation in turning data and the equivalently converted equation in order to apply ball endmill data to Taylor tool life equation in milling data. All the information related to input and result data can be stored in theses programs.

Transparency on the Total System Performance Assessment (TSPA) is the key issue to enhance the public acceptance for a permanent high level radioactive repository. Traditionally, the study on features, events and processes (FEPs) and associated scenarios has been regarded as the starting point to open the communicative discussion on TSPA such as what to evaluate, how to evaluate and how to translate outcomes into more friendly language that many stakeholders can easily understand and react with. However, in most cases, it has been limited to one way communication, because it is difficult for stakeholders outside the performance assessment field to assess the details on the story of the safety assessment, scenario and technical background of it. Fortunately, the advent of the internet era opens up the possibility of two way communication from the beginning of the performance assessment so that every stakeholder can exchange their keen opinions on the safety issues. To achieve it, KAERI develops the systematic approach from the FEPs to Assessment methods flow chart. All information is integrated into the web based program named FEAS (FEp to Assessment through Scenario development) under development in KAERI. In parallel, two independent systems are also under development the web based QA(Quality Assurance) system and the PA(Performance Assessment) input database. It is ideal to integrate the input data base with the QA system so that every data in the system can checked whenever necessary. Throughout the next phase R&D starting from the year 2003, these three systems will be consolidated into one unified system.
