  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented for multi-axis force control systems of an intelligent robot. Linux operating systems are ported to an embedded system which Include a Xscale processor to implement a web based monitoring system. A device driver is developed to receive data from multi-axis force sensors of intelligent robots. To control this device driver, a socket program for Labview is also developed.

  • In this paper we implemented a web-based performance monitoring system for web mail server. For this system we derived performance monitoring items and fixed its threshold values for each measuring items. We used the SCOM 2007 server monitoring tool for collecting the performance data of web mail server and Exchange server management pack and server monitoring rules of SCOM 2007 to set the performance analysis parameters. We implemented this performance monitoring system using C# programming based on the ASP.NET framework. This system supports web-based performance report, failure report and resource availability report from the performance analysis results. Therefore the manager can easily detect the failures of web mail server in advance and decrease the number of failure over 60%. Also this system helps manager to minimize the recovery time when the failure occurs.

  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented for multi-axis force control systems of an intelligence robot. A brief review about the principle of multi-axis force sensors and a method that can reduce the effect of noise signal to sensor performance is presented. A web based monitoring system is implemented by porting Linux at embedded systems which include Xscale processors. A device driver is developed to receive data from multi-axis force sensors in Linux operation systems. To control this device driver, a socket program for web browser is also developed. The experiments are performed to investigate the effectiveness of proposed methods. The experimental results show that the values of force sensors can be monitored by remote PCs.

  • This paper proposed a web-based open architecture monitoring system using the Java language. The proposed system can be implemented in any platform and the status of the process can be monitored in a remote station. The proposed scheme have been applied to a steam generator level controller for a nuclear power plant. The result shows the feasibility of the proposed system.

  • This paper introduces an approach to the realization of an ICT-based bridge remote monitoring system that enables real-time monitoring and controlled adjustments for unexpected heavy loads and also for damaging earthquakes or typhoons. In this paper, an integrated bridge remote monitoring system called the "Intelligent Bridge", which consists of a stand-alone monitoring system (SMS) and a web-based Internet monitoring system(IMS), was developed for not only bridge maintenance but also as an application for a para-stressing bridge system. To verify the possibility of controlling the actual structural performance of an "Intelligent Bridge", a model 2-span continuous cable-stayed bridge with adjustable cables was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate that the implemented monitoring system supplies detailed and accurate information about bridge behaviour for further evaluation and diagnosis, and it also opens up prospects for future application of a web-based remote system to actually adjust in-service bridges under field conditions.

  • The slope monitoring systems which have been operating at home and abroad were investigated and then the real-time monitoring management system for evacuating inhabitants based on Web-EOC(Emergency Operating Center) was constructed. We tried to analyze realistically and precisely the situation by changing from the existing field-centered management to sensor-centered management that measures coordinates and provides in real-time data of measuring/monitoring sensors installed at a field site and developing related viewer programs. In addition, the 3D based monitoring management system, which has alarm functions in case of emergency and provides information about the evacuation place, was constructed on the base that is able to expand to nationwide fields by using Vworld 3D map. Ten steep slope monitoring sites were registered on Web-EOC slope monitoring management system constructed in the research and then application instances were suggested.

  • Mobile communication with wireless modem can be powerful tool in web-based structural health monitoring system in which power and communication method are crucial points. In this study, the major reasons of side cracks in tunnel lining are studied by FEM analysis. In addition, a web-based monitoring system using mobile communication with wireless modem is applied to the tunnel structure to monitor the long term behavior of the side cracks. The field application shows that CDMA is useful method for structural health monitoring system which installed long distance away.

  • EAI(Enterprise Application Integration) as an infrastructure of application integration had played an important role for many companies to make epochal changes, expense reduction, and new application services. The continuous monitoring and management of data covering whole environment of system operations should be well-supported so that the data consistency and system stability are guaranteed to implement and operate the services effectively. In this paper, the requirements and functions of monitoring system are defined for the stable EAI service. An actual web-based system is designed and implemented. This web-based monitoring system is broadly applicable to general EAI environments.

  • Recent natural disasters like flooding and slope collapse have shown the need for natural risk management system, as they endanger directly public health and cause severe damages on the national economy. In order to improve the efficiency of risk management systems, this management system based on AANN(Auto-Associative Neural Network)is proposed in this paper. AANN can be effectively used for identification of abnormal data and data compression. The proposed AANN-based risk management system collects and stores measurement data from sensors and transmits them to remote server for web-monitoring. Generally, it is desirable to transmit the compressed data instead of raw data in normal state. However, if dangerous situation happens, rapid tramission of measurement data should be required. These requirements are easily satisfied by using AANN. In order to verify the feasibilities of the proposed system, The AANN-based risk management system is applied to slope collapse monitoring system.

  • Due to rapid increases in Internet users, it becomes essential to provide well-established web services and monitor web server's load for the sake of reliable web server management. The existing web server load monitoring has been based on such cable methods as RPC, RMI, CORBA and etc. But it has the limitation in bringing information both anywhere and anytime over the Internet. This thesis is aimed to realize real-time wireless web server monitoring system based on Wireless Application Protocol (WAP). As any user can log on wirelessly to the Internet at any time through wireless terminals like PDA, the realization will make possible instant and real-time web server monitoring.
