Design and Application of Multi Concept Keyword Model based on Web-using Information (웹 사용 정보에 기반한 다중 성향 키워드 모델의 설계와 응용)

  • There are various studies to provide useful information for users on huge data of web-sites. Web usage mining among them is a method to extract meaningful patterns based on web users' log data. Most of existing patterns of web usage mining, however, had not considered users' diverse inclination but created general models. Web users' keywords can have various meaning upon their tendency and background knowledge. This study is for generating Multi Concept Keyword Model (MCK-Model) by analyzing web usage information on users' keywords of interest. MCK-Model can supply web page network for various inclination based on users' keywords of interest. Also, MCK-Model can be used to recommend the most proper web pages and it has been confirmed that the suggested method is useful enough.

  • Web-toon is provided to users in the form of Web-toon and The users are steadily rising and increasing amount of using time until today. Web-toon has become a popular pastime among smartphone users. Therefore, when providing services, Web-toon application should be made with an appropriate system so that it can be easily used, and considering problems that users may have while using the application, it should help users have better experiences. With Naver Web-toon and Lezin Comics as subjects, user experiences of teenagers were analyzed with questionnaires based on Honeycomb model of Peter Morville. The score of Naver Web-toon was higher than Lezin Comics after user experience assesment, and usability and accessibility as important factors turned out to be influential to teen-aged users who use Web-toon services.

사회네트워크에서 잠재된 신뢰관계망 추론을 위한 ANFIS 모형

  • We are sometimes interacting with people who we know nothing and facing with the difficult task of making decisions involving risk in social network. To reduce risk, the topic of building Web of trust is receiving considerable attention in social network. The easiest approach to build Web of trust will be to ask users to represent level of trust explicitly toward another users. However, there exists sparsity issue in Web of trust which is represented explicitly by users as well as it is difficult to urge users to express their level of trustworthiness. We propose a fuzzy-based inference model for Web of trust using user behavior information in social network. According to the experiment result which is applied in Epinions.com, the proposed model show improved connectivity in resulting Web of trust as well as reduced prediction error of trustworthiness compared to existing computational model.

  • Recently, to draw the web users' attention and stay in the website for a long time to transmit information efficiently, the website designing is focused on providing emotional experience. Emotional experience is possible through the use of interactive storytelling and multimedia. Users immersion, pleasurable experience and synesthesia satisfaction is connected to the emotional experience due to the interaction operation and multimedia feedback. In this study, application of the parallax scrolling technique's possibility has been studied to induce the emotional experience of the web users that appeared in the technical development of the web. Realizing characteristics of the elements that effect emotional experience through web cases are studied and the possibility of effective emotional experience is proposed as using parallax scrolling technique on web.

  • We can offer suitable information to users analyzing the pattern of users. An association rule is one of data mining techniques which can discover the pattern. We use an association rule which considers the web page visiting time and we should the pattern analyse of users. The offered method puts the weights in Web page visiting time of the user and produces an association rule. Weight is web page visiting time unit divide to total of web page visiting time. We offer rather meaningful result the association rule by Apriori algorithm. This method that proposes in the paper offers rather meaningful result Apriori algorithm

  • Web usage mining is a method to extract meaningful patterns based on the web users' log data. Web users' keywords can have a variety of meanings regarding their tendency and background knowledge. This study evaluated the extraction web-user's pattern after collecting and analyzing the web usage information on the users' keywords of interest. Web-user's pattern can supply a web page network with various inclination information based on the users' keywords of interest. In addition, the Web-user's pattern can be used to recommend the most appropriate web pages and the suggested method of this experiment was confirmed to be useful.

  • Nowadays many Internet users have their own homepages and blogs on the Internet. Developers and designers offer a lot of options to users to increase their satisfaction. Do users prefer a lot of options? This study shows that users may prefer simple web-sites to complex web-sites. Moreover, users' attitudes can be affected by individual characteristics users have. This study focuses on one of the individual differences, computer anxiety. As a result, users who have high computer anxiety had more negative attitudes to web-sites than users having low computer anxiety had. This result emphasizes the importance of understanding users when designing interfaces.

A Study on the Effects of Visual Aesthetics and Usability of Web Site Design on their Performance (웹사이트 디자인의 시각적 요소와 유용성이 성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Most research on web site design has focused on technological factors, while visual aesthetic factors have been considered less important. In contrast, this study focuses on visual aesthetic factors in web site design. Findings of this study can be summarized as follows : (1) The result of SPSS-factor analysis shows that there are 3 distinct factors, 'classical aesthetics', 'expressive aesthetics', and 'usability' 'Classical aesthetics' and 'expressive aesthetics' can be described by visual aesthetic design, 'Visual aesthetic design' can be distinguished from 'usability'. This conceptual confusion relating to 'usability' and 'visual aesthetic design' can be clarified by these findings. (2) As a result of multiple regression analyses, 'classical aesthetics', 'expressive aesthetics', and 'usability' have a positive influence on 'interactivity' and 'web site evaluation'. This research clarifies the concepts of 'expectations' of Grier [18] and 'engagement' of Rosen and Purinton [33] as the 'interactivity' between users and web sites. Furthermore, this research suggests a valid model with high $R^2$(interactivity, 48% : web site evaluation, 68%). (3) Empirical tests show that the differences among users in 'entry point' are related to the characteristics of web sites and the personal characteristics of users. The differences among users in terms of 'scanning time' are closely related to the attitudes and evaluation tendencies of users with respect to web sites. These findings could contribute to the 'search phase' of the Faraday model [16], enabling it to be more precise and extensible. The managerial implication of this study is that customers' preferences regarding web site designs are differences, as their preferences are based on their individual characteristics. Therefore, marketing managers should consider promotional tools on web sites that are relevant to the target market. An optimal strategy for web design could be a carefully-selected combination of factors that are relevant to the 'interactivity' and 'evaluation' of web sites. Additionally, if marketing managers want to attract more favorable attitudes and more affirmative evaluations from users, web sites should be designed so that they are understood more quickly by users. finally, this study suggests that 'good design' for web sites depends on understanding how to attain the appropriate balance between 'classical aesthetics' and 'expressive aesthetics', based on the target customer.

  • As web-based programming tools(such as flash action script, javascript, java and etc.) has been improved and it has become more aware to take interactivity importantly as users' whole experience, web sites have evolved from the form of webzine to the form of interactive application that displays more interactive interface and gives instant feedbacks for the users' inputs. Web, rather than software, is used to execute relatively easy tasks by users of various levels, so that web sites could give more fun and less cognitive burden by supporting users' tasks in more interactive way. This paper examined design strategies to make more interactive web by figuring out definition of web interaction as users' experience and by analyzing web interaction design trends from cases of interactive web sites. The ultimate objective of this paper is show how design strategies can be adapted in the web interaction design process. Thus, case study of designing interactive bookshell in E-book site was done and is demonstrating one way of adapting strategies to design web interaction.

Comparison of User Experience from Parallax Scrolling and Video Use on the Web Contents (영상과 Parallax Scrolling 기법을 활용한 웹콘텐츠의 사용자 경험 요소 비교 연구)

  • Recent use of digital video contents increases visual fatigue of users. As a result, it has been difficult that the existing video methods make users focus on the content with interest and deliver stories intended by contents producers. Parallax scrolling is getting the spotlight as a new way which are keeping the fluent visual advantages of video and help users maintaining their attention with simple maneuver. In this study, based on a survey, it would compare the user experience in an existing video in Web contents and parallax scrolling Web contents. As a result, it showed that using the parallax scrolling Web sites improve user sensibilities such as aesthetic, novelty and pleasure of user experiences. A remarkable thing is that users replied parallax scrolling is not much comfortable to use. According to the result, researchers suggest that using parallax scrolling in Web site needs thoughtful decision in making and managing of Web contents.
