실측 하천 단면자료를 이용한 HSPF 유역모델의 수리정확도 개선 (Improving HSPF Model's Hydraulic Accuracy with FTABLES Based on Surveyed Cross Sections)

  • The hydrological simulation program FORTRAN (HSPF) is a comprehensive watershed model that employs the hydraulic function table (FTABLE) (depth-area-volume-flow relationship) to represent the geometric and hydraulic properties of water bodies. The hydraulic representation of the HSPF model mainly depends on the accuracy of the FTABLES. These hydraulic representations determine the response time of water quality state variables and also control the scour, deposition, and transport of sediments in the water body. In general, FTABLES are automatically generated based on reach information such as mean depth, mean width, length, and slope along with a set of standard assumptions about the geometry and hydraulics of the channel, so these FTABLES are unable to accurately describe the geometry and hydraulic behavior of rivers and reservoirs. In order to compensate the weakness of HSPF for hydraulic modeling, we generated alternate method to improve the accuracy of FTABLES for rivers, using the surveyed cross sections and rating curves. The alternative method is based on the hydraulics simulated by HEC-RAS using the surveyed cross sections and rating curves, and it could significantly improve the accuracy of FTABLES. Although the alternate FTABLE greatly improved the hydraulic accuracy of the HSPF model, it had little effect on the hydrological simulation.

우리 나라 저수지의 수중 폭기 장치의 설계 방법 및 용량 분석 (Design Methods and Capacity Analysis of Artificial Circulation Systems in Korean Reservoirs)

  • Use of artificial circulation system has become popular in Korean reservoirs to control algal blooms and subsequent color, taste and odor problems in drinking water. It was found that the most of aeration system in Korean reservoirs are under-designed compared to existing installations in US and Australia. This was especially true for larger reservoirs greater than $5{\times}10^7m^3$ in volume since it is common to install the system in the vicinity of intake areas only. Consequently, successful cases of artificial circulation systems operations are limited to few small reservoirs less than $1{\times}10^7m^3$. It is suggested that the design methods need to be developed considering physical characteristics and water quality kinetics inside of reservoirs. Also operation methods of artificial circulation systems need to be established considering the water quality dynamics, stratification and morphological characteristics of reservoirs. Finally, it is suggested to maintain comprehensive and long term monitoring programs to validate the application of artificial circulation system in reservoirs.

활성탄 공정에서의 염소 소독부산물 제거특성 (Removal Characteristics of Chlorination Disinfection By-Products by Activated Carbons)

  • 활성탄 재질별 THM 흡착능은 야자계 활성탄이 가장 우수하였고, 다음으로 석탄계, 목탄계 활성탄 순으로 평가되었으며, 야자계 활성탄의 최대 흡착량(X/M)이 석탄계와 목탄계 활성탄에 비해 각각 $1.1{\sim}1.5$배 및 $14.1{\sim}31.4$배 정도 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 또한, 활성탄 사용율(CUR)의 경우는 chloroform 흡착 제거시 야자계 활성탄은 1일 9.4 g의 활성탄을 사용하여 제어할 수 있는 반면, 석탄계나 목탄계 활성탄의 경우는 11.2 g 및 38 g의 활성탄을 사용하여야만 제어가 가능한 것으로 나타났다. THM 구성종별 활성탄에 대한 흡착특성을 조사한 결과 chloroform의 k값이 가장 낮은 것으로 조사되어 THM 구성종들 중 활성탄을 이용한 흡착제거가 가장 어려운 것으로 조사되었으며, 다음으로 BDCM, CDBM, bromoform 순으로 나타났다. bromoform은 chloroform에 비해 k값이 활성탄 재질별로 $5{\sim}12$배 정도 큰 것으로 나타났다. Biofilter에서의 THM 구성종들에 대한 생분해 특성을 평가한 결과, 물질별 평균 생분해율이 chloroform의 경우 7%, BDCM 5%, CDBM 4%, bromoform 3%로 나타나 생물분해가 어려운 것으로 조사되었다. HAA5 구성종들에 대한 활성탄 흡착 및 biofilter를 이용한 생분해 특성 평가 결과는 운전초기에는 흡착 제거되었으며, biofilter에서의 생물분해능은 TCAA를 제외한 나머지 4종은 bed volume 2000 부근부터는 생물분해에 의해 거의 100% 제거되는 것으로 나타났으나, TCAA는 bed volume 4000 이후부터 생물분해에 의해 90% 이상 제거되기 시작하여 bed volumed의 증가와 함께 제거율도 상승하였다.

도시 배수유역의 유출-수질 특성인자의 민감도 분석 (Sensitivity Analysis of Runoff-Quality Parameters in the Urban Basin)

  • 본 연구는 강우로 인한 도시 배수구역에서의 유출 및 수질 산정을 위한 주요인자들이 모의해석 결과치에 주는 영향을 분석하였다. 적용대상유역으로서 남가좌, 산본 배수구역과 미국의 Gray Haven, Kings Creek 배수구역 등의 4개 지역을 선택하였다. 실측치를 토대로 각 영향인자들의 최적치를 주요 유역영향인자들을 포괄적으로 수용하고 있는 SWMM모형으로 산정하고, 이를 기준값으로 하여 이들이 계산 결과치에 주는 민감도를 분석하였다. 유출영향 인자로서 불투수면적은 첨두유출량 및 유출용적에 가장 큰 영향을 줌을 알 수 있었다. 한편 지표면 저류 깊이는 완만한 경사의 유역에서 첨두유량 및 유출용적에 상당한 영향을 주었다. 한편, 오염농도 및 오탁부하량에 영향을 주는 주요매개변수로서는 단위면적, 오염축적의 정도를 나타내는 오염축적계수와 오염축적을 지속적으로 가능하게 하는 연속 무강우 일수 등이 큰 민감도를 보여주었다. 이는 비점원 오염물의 절대 축적량이 하천수질에 직접적인 영향을 주고 있음을 의미한다. 한편 강우초기의 수질에 영향을 주는 변수로서는 강우강도와 오염물질의 이송능력을 나타내는 이송계수 및 지수들의 영향이 상당하였다. 따라서 도시유역에서의 유출 및 수질 모의를 위하여서는 충분한 유역자료의 수집과 분석이 선행되어야 하며, 특히 불투수지역의 정확한 불리와 유역별 비점원 오염물의 축적량의 합리적 산정 과정에 많은 노력을 기울여야 할 것이다.

발효미강 Sourdough를 이용한 바게트 빵의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Baguette using Fermented Rice Bran Sourdough)

  • This study was carried out in order to investigate the quality characteristics of baguette with different amounts of yeast and fermented rice bran sourdough(Control: Yeast 30 g + Fermented rice bran sourdough 0 g, A sample: Yeast 20 g + Fermented rice bran sourdough 150 g, B sample: Yeast 10 g + Fermented rice bran sourdough 300 g, C sample: Yeast 0 g + Fermented rice bran sourdough 450 g). The pH of fermented rice bran sourdough by fermentation time was decreased as the fermentation time was longer. The pH of baguette dough was decreased as the fermented rice bran sourdough increased; the volume was the highest in control at the 1st fermentation, and in the B sample at the 2nd fermentation. The weight of baguette was the highest in the C sample, and the volume and specific volume were the highest in the B sample. The microstructure of the cross section analysis indicated that the air cell of baguette crumb was large and regular in the B sample. The moisture content and water binding capacity were the highest in the B sample, although significantly different. The L value was decreased as there was an increasing addition ratio of fermented rice bran sourdough; further, the a and b values were decreased with an increase in baguette volume. Hardness, gumminess and chewiness were decreased as volume and specific volume were increased; yet, springiness was increased. According to the result of the sensory evaluation, the flavor, taste, appearance and texture were the highest in the B sample.

Quality Characteristics of Bread Using Sour Dough

  • In this study, we examined the changes in loaf weight, loaf volume and specific volume, moisture content and water absorption, pH and titrable acidity, shape, texture profile and sensory evaluation using sour dough instead of dough conditioner in bread making. The weight and volume of bread tended to increase in the sour dough bread, compared to the control. The pH of bread tended to be lower in the sour dough bread. The control bread had large irregular pores that were fewer in number, while the sour dough bread had small spots and was very dense and even throughout the whole surface. The texture profile of bread such as hardness, cohesiveness, chewiness and brittleness was lower in the sour dough bread. There were no significant differences in the sensory characteristics of the breads, except for the shape of bread. However, the sour dough A bread was better in color, texture, flavor, touch, moistness, taste and overall acceptability, and the sour dough B bread was better in flavor, touch and taste than the control.

화학혼화제의 성분함유율 변화에 따른 콘크리트의 특성분석 (Analysis of concrete characteristic depending on chemical admixtures changing component content ratio)

  • W/C and unit volume, which significantly affect quality of concrete related to strength and durability, are regulated at below $185kg/m^3$ for regular concrete generally used in standard specification for constructions. The aim of this research is to develop chemical admixture and find out its potential use by identifying characteristics of admixtures added to soft concrete and hardening concrete, of which content ratio of component for each type of admixtures is subject to change in accordance with unit volume within KS' allowable range. Sodium gluconate, polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether, poly carboxylic copolymer in slump, which is characteristic of soft concrete, are deemed highly sensitive while there is no air entrainment except for $10\sim70%$ in WE, WR component content ratio and NP. In hardening concrete, strength in general showed higher action in compressive strength and tensile strength than in plain strength. Use of proper AE agent and AE water reducing agent at the same time is deemed to be used as chemical admixtures capable of manufacturing high-quality, high-quantity concrete.

하천수질정화용 토양여과의 여과용량 증대와 수질 개선을 위한 친환경 여재 특성 비교 (Characteristics of soil and eco-friendly media for improving the filterability and water quality in soil filtration)

  • Nowadays, the challenges of ensuring good water quality and quantity of river are becoming more important for human society, but there has been troublesome for purifying river water. In this study, we performed the fundamental study of a river water treatment system using riverside soil and eco-friendly optimal media for improving river water quality and can also treat a large amount of river water. As the results of the physical and chemical characterization of the two different soils (Kyungan and Chungrang, The Republic of Korea), which were collected from real stream sides in the Han River basin, and five kinds of media (zeolite, perlite, steel slag, woodchip and mulch), both soils were all classified as a sand, and effective size ($D_{10}$) and uniformity coefficient (U) of the soil were about 0.2 mm and 4 or so, respectively. Through the batch and column experiments with the soil and eco-friendly media, zeolite and mulch were found to be efficient for decreasing nitrogen. In addition, steel slag was especially superior to the other media for phosphorus removal. From soil reforming tests volume ratios were 2.8, 1, and 1 of Kyungan soil, zeolite, and steel slag hydraulic conductivity of mixed soil was increased $1.30{\times}10^{-2}$ from $2.85{\times}10^{-3}$ of Kyungan soil, and the removal efficiencies of nitrogen and phosphorus were also improved. These results show that reforming of the soil enhanced the purification of a large amount of water, and zeolite, mulch, and steel slag might be facilitated as proper functional media.

수분함량에 따른 반건조 우리밀 국수의 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Semi-dry Noodles with different Water Contents)

  • This study evaluated the quality characteristics of semi-dried noodles prepared with different water contents (wet noodles; 32, 24, 22, 20%, dry noodles; 12%). The drying process was carried out in a drying chamber at $13{\sim}18^{\circ}C$ temperature and 75~95% humidity. The proximate composition of Korean wheat flour was as follows: water $22.1{\pm}3.64%$, protein $8.6{\pm}0.13%$, fat $1.3{\pm}0.10%$, ash $0.7{\pm}0.02%$, carbohydrates $67.3{\pm}0.10%$. As water contents decreased, both L and b values significantly decreased before cooking of noodles, whereas L, a, and b values were not significantly different after cooking of noodles. Weight, water absorption, and volume of cooked noodles significantly increased as water content decreased, whereas turbidity of soup was not significantly different. Cutting hardness before cooking of noodles significantly increased as water content decreased. Sections of noodles after cooking by SEM (scanning electron microscopy) showed roughness and fewer round starch particles as water content decreased. For overall preferences according to the sensory evaluation, noodles prepared with different water contents were not significantly different. According to the results, semidried noodles have development potential to complement the disadvantages of both wet noodles and dry noodles.

국내 중소형 저수지 활용을 위한 수질 분석 (Water Quality Monitoring in Small/Medium Sized Reservoirs)

  • 체계적인 관리가 이루어지지 않고 있는 중소형 저수지의 향후 적극적 활용을 위한 예비 연구로 A시의 중소형 저수지 33개에 대한 현장조사 및 수질자료 분석이 수행되었다. 여름철(6월)과 가을/겨울철(11월) 2차례에 걸쳐 지자체 관리의 21개 저수지에 대한 수질 분석이 이루어졌으며, 한국농어촌공사 관리의 12개 저수지의 수질자료를 확보하여 비교 분석하였다. 2차례의 수질 분석 수행 결과, 일부 중소형 저수지의 수질이 현행 이용목적인 농업용수 공급이 가능한 "약간나쁨(IV)" 수준에 미치지 못하는 것으로 확인되었으며, 저수용량이 감소하는 가을/겨울철에 수질악화가 대부분의 저수지에서 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 이로 인해 한국형 부영양화지수에 의한 부영양화 상태가 대부분의 저수지에서 "부영양" 혹은 "과영양" 상태인 것으로 확인되었다. 도심지와의 접근성이 높은 일부 저수지의 퇴적토 분석 결과 오염도는 심각하지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 수질과의 연관성은 높지 않았다. 이상의 결과는 중소형 저수지에 대한 대체 수자원, 관광사업, 내수면어업, 신재생에너지 생산, 홍수저감을 위한 저류지 등으로의 활용에 대한 기초자료로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 예상되었다.
