In this paper, wave energy absorption of OWC(oscillating water column) device is analyzed. The analytic model consists of a partially immersed circular vertical cylinder open at its end and an air turbine connected with the air chamber. The boundary value problem is decomposed into scattering problem related to scattering by an incident wave in the absence of a pressure variation and radiation problem describing the flow due to an oscillating pressure in the absence of an incident wave. By invoking the continuity of an air flow inside the chamber, the oscillating pressure in a chamber is derived. With oscillating pressure, the mean power absorbed by OWC device and the capture width are obtained. In numerical calculation, the induced volume flux across the internal free surface of the chamber in the scattering and radiation problem and the maximum capture width are compared with various design parameters such as radius and submergence depth of chamber and wave conditions. The maximum capture width obtained by choosing the optimal value of turbine constant occurs at the first resonant mode (Helmholtz mode) among the natural frequencies of a circular cylinder chamber.

Global warming due to greenhouse gas emissions is considered as a major problem worldwide, and many countries are making great efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Many technologies in post-combustion, pre-combustion and oxy-fuel combustion $CO_2$ capture have been developed. Among them, a hybrid pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture system of a water gas shift (WGS) reactor and a membrane gas separation unit was investigated. The 2 stage WGS reactor integrated high temperature shift (HTS) with a low temperature shift (LTS) was used to obtain a higher CO conversion rate. A Pd/Cu dense metal membrane was used to separate $H_2$ from $CO_2$ selectively. The performance of the hybrid system in terms of CO conversion and $H_2$ separation was evaluated using a 65% CO, 30 % $H_2$ and 5% $CO_2$ gas mixture for applications to pre-combustion $CO_2$ capture. The experiments were carried out over the range of WGS temperatures ($200-400^{\circ}C$), WGS pressures (0-20bar), Steam/Carbon (S/C) ratios (2.5-5) in a feed gas flow rate of 1 L/min. A very high CO conversion rate of 99.5% was achieved with the HTS-LTS 2 stage water gas shift reactor, and 83% $CO_2$ was concentrated in the retentate using the Pd/Cu membrane.

Recently, there has been growing interest in the oxyfuel combustion cycle since it enables high-purity $CO_2 capture with high$ efficiency. However, the oxyfuel combustion cycle has some important issues regarding to its performance such as the requirement of water recirculation to decrease a turbine inlet temperature and proper combustion to enhance cycle efficiency. Also, Some of water vapour remain not condensed at condenser outlet because cycle working fluid contains non-condensable gas, i.e., $CO_2$. The purpose of the present study is to analyze performance characteristics of the oxyfuel combustion cycle with different turbine inlet temperatures, combustion pressures and condenser pressure. It is expected that increasing the turbine inlet temperature improves cycle efficiency, on the other hand, the combustion pressure has specific value to display highest cycle efficiency. And increasing condensing pressure improves water vapour condensing rate.

In this study the optimal volume for non-point source control retention is estimated considering spatio-temporal variation of land surface. The 3-parameter mixed exponential probability density function is used to represent the statistical properties of rainfall events, and NRCS-CN method is applied as rainfall-runoff transformation. The catchment drainage area is divided into individual $30m{\times}30m$ cells, and runoff curve number is estimated at each cell. Using the derived probability density function theory, the stormwater probability density function at each cell is derived from the rainfall probability density function and NRCS-CN rainfall-runoff transformation. Considering the antecedent soil moisture condition at each cell and the spatial variation of CN value at the whole catchment drainage area, the ensemble stormwater capture curve is established to estimate the optimal volume for an non-point source control retention. The comparison between spatio-temporally varied land surface and constant land surface is presented as a case study for a urban drainage area.
Energy consumption is increased by rapid industrialization. As a result, climate change is accelerating due to the increase in CO2 concentration in the atmosphere. Therefore, a shift in the energy paradigm is required. Hydrogen is in the spotlight as a part of that. Currently 95% of hydrogen is fossil fuel-based reforming hydrogen which is accompanied by CO2 emissions. This is called gray hydrogen, if the CO2 is captured and emission of CO2 is reduced, it can be converted into blue hydrogen. There are 3 technologies to capture CO2: absorption, adsorption and membrane technology. In order to select CO2 capture technology, the analysis of the exhaust gas should be carried out. The concentration of CO2 in the flue gas from the hydrogen production process is higher than 20%if water is removed as well as the emission scale is classified as small and medium. So, the application of the membrane technology is more advantageous than the absorption. In addition, if LNG cold energy can be used for low temperature CO2 capture system, the CO2/N2 selectivity of the membrane is higher than room temperature CO2 capture and enabling an efficient CO2 capture process. In this study, we will analyze the flue gas from hydrogen production process and discuss suitable CO2 capture technology for it.

In this study, $CO_2$ capture efficiency in relation to the inlet moisture content of the regenerator was investigated using potassium-based sorbents in the continuous process composed of two bubbling fluidized-bed reactors, where solid outlet configuration in the regenerator was converted from underflow to overflow. XRD (X-ray Diffraction), SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and TGA were performed to find out the effect of water pre-treatment according to inlet moisture content in the regenerator. The $K_2CO_3{\cdot}1.5H_2O$ structure of solid sorbents has been increased as inlet moisture content of the regenerator increased. As a result, the $CO_2$ capture efficiency increased as the $K_2CO_3{\cdot}1.5H_2O$ structure of solid sorbents increased since the reactivity of the sorbents has been improved by that structure generated by the water pre-treatment. And $CO_2$ capture efficiency increased about 3~8% after sorbent outlet configuration of the regenerator was changed underflow to overflow.

In this study, we propose a new method for simulating water responding to human motion. Motion data obtained from motion-capture devices are represented as a jointed skeleton, which interacts with the velocity field in the water simulation. To integrate the motion data into the water simulation space, it is necessary to establish a mapping relationship between two fields with different properties. However, there can be severe numerical instability if the mapping breaks down, with the realism of the human-water interaction being adversely affected. To address this problem, our method extends the joint velocity mapped to each grid point to neighboring nodes. We refine these extended velocities to enable increased robustness in the water solver. Our experimental results demonstrate that water animation can be made to respond to human motions such as walking and jumping.

In this work, recent progress on graphene/metal oxide composites as advanced materials for $HgCl_2$ and $CO_2$ capture was investigated. Density Functional Theory calculations were used to understand the effects of temperature on the adsorption ability of $HgCl_2$ and water vapor on $CO_2$ adsorption on CaO (001) with reinforced carbon-based nanostructures using B3LYP functional. Understanding the mechanism by which mercury and $CO_2$ adsorb on graphene/CaO (g-CaO) is crucial to the design and fabrication of effective capture technologies. The results obtained from the optimized geometries and frequencies of the proposed cluster site structures predicted that with respect to molecular binding the system possesses unusually large $HgCl_2$ ($0.1-0.4HgCl_2g/g$ sorbent) and $CO_2$ ($0.2-0.6CO_2g/g$ sorbent) uptake capacities. The $HgCl_2$ and $CO_2$ were found to be stable on the surface as a result of the topology and a strong interaction with the g-CaO system; these results strongly suggest the potential of CaO-doped carbon materials for $HgCl_2$ and $CO_2$ capture applications, the functional gives reliable answers compared to available experimental data.
The thermal neutron capture cross-section (at 2,200 m/s value) of the $^{141}$Pr(n,$\gamma$)$^{142}$Pr reaction was measured by an activation method by using the heavy water ($D_2$O) thermal neutron facility at the KUR(Kyoto University Reactor). The thermal neutron fiux used in this experiment was monitored with the$^{197}$Au(n,$\gamma$)$^{198}$Au standard cross-section. The previous results and the evaluated data of JENDL-3.2, ENDF/B-VI, and JEF-2.2 were in good agreement with the current result.

Gas hydrates are crystalline solids composed of water and gas molecules. Water molecules are linked through hydrogen bonding and create cavities(host lattice) that can capture a large variety of guest molecules under appropriate conditions, generally high pressure and low temperature. Recently, many researchers try to apply gas hydrates to industrial processes to capture greenhouse gases due to the facts that the process is eco-friendly and target gas molecules can be preferentially captured. In this paper, we introduced recent studies on $CO_2$ and $CO_2-N_2$ mixture hydrates to evaluate the feasibility of industrial application of gas hydrate technology to $CO_2$ capture process. Specifically, we put emphasis on the technical feasibility of $CO_2$ separation in steel industry using gas hydrate formation principles.
