This study was conducted to improve the power of PV module using a surface cooling system. One of the unique characteristics of PV module is power drop as a module surface temperature increases due to the characteristics of crystalline silicon used in a solar cell. To overcome the output power reduction by temperature effect, module surface cooling using water circulation was performed. By cooling effect, module surface temperature drops maximally $20.3^{\circ}C$ predicting more than 10% power enhancement. Maximum deviation of voltage and current between a control and cooled module differed by 5.1V and 0.9A respectively. The maximum power enhancement by cooling system was 12.4% compared with a control module. In addition, cooling system can wash the module surface by water circulation so that extra power up of PV module can be achieved by removing particles on the surface which interfere solar radiation on the cells. Cooling system, besides, can reduce the maintenance cost and prevent accidents as a safety precaution while cleaning works. This system can be applied to the existing photovoltaic power generation facilities without any difficulties as well.
Some factors of seawater such as water temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen and asturation of dissolved oxygen were determined in 5 meters intervals from surface to bottom at 11 stations in Yeongil Bay of Korea during late October 1973. Distribution pattern of water masses in Yeongil Bay during the period seemed to be heterogeneous as dividing into two parts of surface and bottom. Water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen and saturation of dissolved oxygen of surface water mass showed higher values and salinity of the mass showed lower values than those factors of bottom water mass. Surface water mass might be originated from Tsushima current during summer season and bottom water mass from cold body of East Sea of Korea which seemed to extend to coastal zone during winter season. Land water discharge from Hyeongsan River into the Bay is considered as a minor factor playing slight role in the water mass composition of the area.

The cooling characteristic of water-air mixed spray for high water mass flux is not well defined, compared to that of highly pressurized spray. A series of research program was planned to develop the boiling correlation for whole temperature range in case of water-air mixed spray with high water mass flux. The cooling experiments of hot steel surface with initial temperature of 820$^{\circ}C$ were conducted in unsteady state with relatively high water mass flux. A computer program was developed to calculate the heat flux inversely from measured data by three inserted thermocouples. Finally the effects of water and air mass flux on the averaged film boiling heat flux and wetting temperature were studied. In this 1st report, it is found that the boiling curve was similar to that of highly pressurized spray and the decreased slope of heat flux in film boiling region with respect to surface temperature became steep by increasing air mass flux. Also it is shown that, by increasing air mass flux, the averaged heat flux in film boiling region was increased, and then saturated and the wetting temperature was increased, and then decreased. Finally when the heat flux in film boiling region is compared with that of highly pressurized spray, it is known that the cooling is improved by introducing air up to 60%.
The characteristics of the oceanographic environment in the Aleutian Basin of the Bering Sea during spring in 1996, 1997, and 1999 were clarified. An investigation of the water properties revealed five basic layers in the Bering Sea during spring: (1) a surface layer of warm and low-salinity water induced by solar heating, (2) a subsurface layer of cold and low-salinity water propagated slowly by heat from the surface layer, (3) a thermocline layer where salinity was constant but temperature sharply decreased, (4) a temperature inversion layer, and (5) a deep layer with a gradual decrease in temperature and increase in salinity toward the bottom. The ranges of water temperature and salinity were $1.8-5.5^{\circ}C$ and 31.81-34.08 in 1996, $1.5-7.2^{\circ}C$ and 31.9-34.06 in 1997, and $0.5-5.6^{\circ}C$ and 32.0-34.11 in 1999, respectively. The water temperature of the surface layer was approximately $1.6^{\circ}C$ higher in 1997 than in 1996 and 1999. The lowest temperature at a depth of 100-150 m was about $1^{\circ}C$ lower in 1999 than in 1996 and 1997. Nutrient levels (nitrate, phosphate, and silicate) contributing to the control of the growth of phytoplankton were higher in the Aleutian Basin than in the eastern continental shelf and Bogoslof Island area. This was closely associated with the phytoplankton distribution. Nutrient concentrations were lowest at a depth of 25 m. The high primary production at that depth was confirmed from the vertical distribution of chlorophyll a. Chlorophyll a levels were above $4.0{\mu}L^{-1}$ in some areas in 1996 and 1999, but below $2.0{\mu}L^{-1}$ in most areas in 1997. Zooplankton density was about three times higher in 1999 than in 1997.

Oceanographic observation and qualitative analysis for deep ocean water in the East Sea were carried out from January 2003 to January 2004, in order to understand the characteristics of deep sea water in the East Sea. Temporal and spatial variation of water masses were discussed from survey of the study area including the coastal sea of Kwangwon province in where the polar front mixing cold and warm water masses were formed. On the basis of the vertical profiles of temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen, water masses in the study area were divided into 5 major groups; (1) Low Saline Surface Water (LSSW) (2) Tsushima Surface water (TSW) (3) Tsushima Middle Water (TMW) (4) North Korea Cold Water (NKCW) and (5) East Sea Proper Water (ESPW). In winter, surface water in coastal sea of Kwangwaan Kosung region were dominated by North Korean Cold Water (NKCW). As Tsushima warm current were enforced in summer, various water masses were vertically emerged in study area, in order of TSW, TMW, NKCW and ESPW. It is highly possible that the LSSW which occurred at surface water of september is originated from influx of fresh water due to the seasonal rainy spell. Nevertheless water masses existed within surface water were seasonally varied, water quality characteristics of East Sea Proper Water (ESPW) under 300 m did not changed all the seasons of the year.

With the results of observations in 2013 and 2014 including ocean buoys, in-situ investigations and wind data, we examined the spatio-temporal variation of cold water masses along the eastern coast of Korea. Usually, a cold water mass first appears along the northern part of the eastern coast from May to July, and then along the southern part of the eastern coast from late June to mid-August. Cold water masses appear 3~5 times a year and remain for 5~20 days in the southwestern part of the East Sea. A distinctive cold water mass appeared usually in mid-July in this area, the surface temperature of which was below $10^{\circ}C$ in some cases. During the appearance of a cold water mass in the southwestern part of the East Sea, the horizontal temperature gradient was large at the surface and a significant low water temperature below $8^{\circ}C$ appeared at the bottom level. This appearance of cold water masses clearly corresponded to southwesterly winds, which generated coastal upwelling.

Over about 30% of problems in construction is related to water-leaking, and the loss from this problem can incur as much as three times the cost of initial construction. Thus, water vapor pressure is known to be the primary cause of defective waterproofing. Accordingly, the theories on the relationship between water pressure and temperature as well as damp-proofing volume of concrete and the change in vapor pressure volume were reviewed and analyzed in this study by making test samples after spraying a dampness remover and applying waterproofing materials to the prepared test specimens. The result of measuring water vapor pressure with the surface temperature of the waterproofing (fluid-applied membrane) layer at the experimental temperature setting of about $10^{\circ}C$, which is the annual average temperature of Seoul, indicated that (1) the temperature of the fluid-applied membrane elevated to about $40^{\circ}C$, and the water vapor pressure generated from the fluid-applied membrane was about 0.03 N/mm 2 when the surface temperature of the waterproofing layer was raised to about $80^{\circ}C$. (2) when the temperature of the fluid-applied membrane of the waterproofing layer was raised from $30^{\circ}C$ to $35^{\circ}C$, water vapor pressure of about 0.01 N/mm 2 was generated, and (3) when a thermal source was applied to the fluid-applied membrane (waterproofing) layer, the temperature increased from $35^{\circ}C$ to $40^{\circ}C$, and approximately $0.005\;N/mm^2$ of water vapor pressure was generated.
In a deep lake and reservoir, thermal stratification is of great importance for characteristics of hydrodynamic mixing of the waterbody, and thereby influencesvertical distribution of dissolved oxygen, substances, nutrients, and the phytoplankton community. The purpose of this study, was to project the effect of a future climate change scenario on water temperature, stratification strength, and thermal stability in the Soyanggang Reservoir in the Han River basin of South Korea, using a suite of mathematical models; SWAT, HEC-ResSim, and CE-QUAL-W2(W2). W2 was calibrated with historical data observed 2005-2015. Using climate data generated by HadGEM2-AO with the RCP 4.5 scenario, SWAT predicted daily reservoir inflow 2016-2070, and HEC-ResSim simulated changes in reservoir discharge and water level, based on inflow and reservoir operation rules. Then, W2 was applied, to predict long-term continuous changes of water temperature, in the reservoir. As a result, the upper layer (5 m below water surface) and lower layer (5 m above bottom) water temperatures, were projected to rise $0.0191^{\circ}C/year$(p<0.05) and $0.008^{\circ}C/year$(p<0.05), respectively, in response to projected atmospheric temperature rise rate of $0.0279^{\circ}C/year$(p<0.05). Additionally, with increase of future temperature, stratification strength of the reservoir is projected to be stronger, and the number of the days when temperature difference of the upper layer and the lower layer becomes greater than $5^{\circ}C$, also increase. Increase of water temperature on the surface of the reservoir, affected seasonal growth rate of the algae community. In particular, the growth rate of cyanobacteria increased in spring, and early summer.

Water molecules on a Ru(0001) surface are anomalously acidic compared to bulk water. The observation was made by conducting reactive ion scattering, reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy, and temperature-programmed desorption measurements for the adsorption of ammonia onto a water layer formed on Ru(0001). The study shows that the water molecules in the first intact $H_2O$ bilayer spontaneously release a proton to NH3 adsorbates to produce $NH_4{^+}$. However, such proton transfer does not occur for $H_2O$, OH, and H in a mixed adsorption layer or for $H_2O$ in a thick ice film surface.

In this paper, experiments investigating the high-temperature region heat transfer coefficients for the spray cooling of hot flat plates were performed by down spray water using flat spray nozzles. The heat transfer surface is made of copper and is 100mm in length and 40mm in width and 15mm in thickness. The experimental condition of spray are as follows: temperatures of the water droplets are T=20~$80^{\circ}C$ and droplets volume fluxes are D=0.001565~0.010438$m^3/m^2s$. Next, correlating equations for the heat transfer characteristics of spray cooling in the high temperature region are developed from the effects of droplets volume flux and the surface temperature of heat transfer plate.
