In this study the water including sediment is assumed that the density is different from fresh water. And the phenomenon inhaled by low pressure around the pipe is numerically simulated in two dimension. The simulation is done using finite difference method in rectangular staggered mesh system and Navier-Stokes equations and continuty equation are employed as governing equations. The method of Irregular leg lengths and stars are adopted to satisfy boundary condition of body boundary. Marker-Density method is used to calculate the density of mixed flow. Also SGS turbulence model is applied to consider vortex smaller then grid at high Renolds number. This study is to analyze inhalation phenomenon of mixed flow with sediment and to verify the numerical method for mixed flow. To verify the numerical results are compared with experimental results

Tidal power station is using the difference of the ebb and flow and the single action tidal power is dependent on tide amplitude and basin volume. Therefore the inflow of basin in rainy season has also effect on the daily power. Also if operating units are changed then starting head too changed. Therefore the number of units are very important for the optimization model. According to our study the primary point when we make a determination of optimization is starting head and governorl control mode. On this study optimization model for tidal power station is considered all of this conditions.
Present study deals with the development of a numerical model for the estimation of net annual recharge by coupling the Galerkin's finite element flow simulationl model with the Gauss-Newton-Marquardt optimization technique. The developed coupled numerical model is applied for estimating net annual recharge for Mahi Right Bank Canal (MRBC) project the norms of Groundwater Resources Estimation committee (1984, 1997) and Indian Agricultural research Institute(1983). It is observed that the estimated net recharge by inverse modeling is closer to the net recharge estimated using the water balance approach. Further it is observed that the computed head distribution from the estimated recharge agree closely with the observed head distribution. The study concludes that the developed model for inverse modeling can be successfully applied to large groundwater system involving regional aquifers where reliable recharge estimation always requires considerable time and financial resources.

In order to use radar rainfall data for flood management, it is necessary to study and develop a method for optimum error correction to obtain radar rainfall values that agree closely with surface rainfall data. This paper proposes an optimum estimation method for calculating rainfall in a river basin by using data from surface raingauges and radar raingauge systems. This paper also reports on recent applications of radar raingauge systems for accurate simulation of flood discharge based on river basin rainfall values obtained from radar raingauge systems.

In a general centrifugal pump, if it is operated in a two-phase flow the activity of the impeller usually degrades and occasionally losses its function. However, the effect of break down of centrifugal pump due to entrained air has not been clarified yet. This paper shows the air-water two-phase flow characteristics of closed type and semi-open type impellers. In a sing1e-phase flow, closed-type impeller has higher efficiency and head. But in air-water two-phase flow semi-open type impeller's rates of decreases of efficiency and head are decreased.
In this study, we try to find the root cause of water condensing failures in a headlamp using chemical and mechanical analysis. Through the surface inspection by OM, SEM and CT, it was found that water infiltrate into the headlamp through hotmelt adhesive debonding part caused by adhesion force degradation and poor quality. IR spectra shows that adhesion force degradation are characterized by increase of some functional group(1742, 1710, 1649, 1016). Through the ESPI measurement, it is turned out that bonding structural change by thermal expansion and degradation of adhesive can be the cause of void generation. So it is recommended that cooling passage and the bonding part should be redesigned to give a guarantee of less thermal stress and high adhesion quality.

There are 109 A class rivers in Japan. One purpose of river management is to reduce the flooding. For this purpose, government provides the information to public, as flood forecasting, rainfall forecasting and estimate the runoff magnitude to avoid the flood and inundation. In this paper, we introduce current situation of flood forecasting and rainfall forecasting in Japan, and we describe how to use the information of flood forecasting and rainfall forecasting in conjunction with current strategy for river management.
In the current study the effects on pump performances of a conventional centrifugal pump for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid were experimentally studied. The study aimed to compare the pump characteristics for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluid. The working fluids are water, aqueous sugar solution, glycerin solution, muddy solution and pulp solution. The pump characteristics with high viscosity fluids were different. The operating efficiency for the sugar and glycerin solutions were decreased to $8.1\%$ and $12.9\%$ than that of water. The head reductions of the muddy solution for different concentration ratios were decreased to $7.97\%,\;15.11\%$ and $24.87\%$ than that of water And the head reductions of the pulp solution for different concentration ratios were decreased to $11.87\%,\;19.79\%$ md $36.81\%$ than that of water.
KEPCO's high voltage distribution power line laid under the ground near to the J-booster pumping station that supply water for living. Lightening rod equipment does not installed at the J-booster pumping station because KEPCO's over head ground wire for protection functions as a lightening rod equipment. In this study, it is concerned whether KEPCO's over head ground wire for protect the distribution power line affect to the J-booster pumping station which is installed for reduce the damage from the direct and indirect lightening. If KEPCO's protection area does not affect to the J-pumping station, it is plan to examine the construction method of lightening rod protection angle and lightening rod equipment and to suggest the optimum protection plan using the surrounding structure based on the suitability of protection area.
In order to design a dual-head gantry radiotherapy system, the single head of LINAC was modeled using GATE as a preliminary study. The LINAC head was designed with VARIAN manufacturer's information. 6 MV photons were generated from the head and the photons w irradiated to a water phantom for beam evaluation. GATE simulation was segmented by two stages, the one was to generate X-ray spectrum and the other one was for irradiation X-ray to the water phantom. The quantitative results were described in Percentage depth dose and beam profile. Two field size conditions were employed as $5{\times}5$ and $10{\times}10cm^2$. After beam quality was verified, dual heads gantry radiotherapy system were simulated and they was compared to the single head of LINAC system in terms of dose deposition with in the phantom. The simulated LINAC head showed acceptable beam quality result for radiotherapy. The efficiency was calculated that deposited dose from dual heads was divided by the dose from single head. At all conditions, dual heads showed higher treatment efficiency. Efficiency was increased about 40 to 60%. Form the result, The dual head gantry system of new LINAC system will contribute to the practical radiotherapy of tumor and to reduce treatment time.
