폐타이어 칩의 바닥충격음 차단성능에 관한 실험적 연구 (The Experimental Study on the Impact Sound Insulation Floors due to Waste Tire Chip)

  • This study aims to present proper thickness of resilient mount and pattern of chips for the improvement of impact sound isolation. To achieve this aim, field tests were performed to evaluate the performance of impact sound isolation of pilot samples using waste tire chips against light and heavy-weight impacter, which samples were installed over concrete slabs of an apartment housing. In this study, the experiments were performed by the impact sound level of floors in KS F 2810 "Method for field measurement of floor impact level". As results, a flooring structure using waste tire chips as a resilient mount, with no relation to chip's types, has enhanced performance by 1~2 degree in light impact sound isolation, while it has improvement in heavy impact sound isolation. And fiber-type chips have better performance than granule-type ones when they overlaid concrete slab with 15~20 mm of thickness. For the improvement of impact sound isolation, it is recommended that insulating materials should be applied at joints between floating floors and walls, or floating floors and a doorframes, and also waterproof papers should be used for the effective thickness of resilient mount.ent mount.

Preparation and Characterization of Polypropylene/Waste Ground Rubber Tire Powder Microcellular Composites by Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

  • In order to obtain 'value added products' from polypropylene (PP)/waste ground rubber tire powder (WGRT) composites, PP/WGRT microcellular foams were prepared via supercritical carbon dioxide. The effects of blend composition and processing condition on the cell size, cell density and relative density of PP/WGRT micro-cellular composites were studied. The results indicated that the microcellular structure was dependent on blend composition and processing condition. An increased content of waste ground rubber tire powder (WGRT) and maleic anhydride-grafted styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS-g-MA) reduced the cell size, and raised the cell density and relative density, whereas a higher saturation pressure increased the cell size, and reduced the cell density and relative density. With increasing saturation temperature, the cell size increased and the relative density decreased, whereas the cell density initially increased and then decreased.

  • This study aimed to categorize pervious rubberized concrete into fresh and hardened concrete analyzing its durability, permeability and strength. During the globalization of modern life, growing population and industry rate have signified a sustainable approach to all aspects of modern life. In recent years, pervious concrete (porous concrete) has significantly substituted for pavements due to its mechanical and environmental properties. On the other hand, scrap rubber tire has been also contributed with several disposal challenges. Considering the huge amount of annually tire wastes tossing out, the conditions become worse. Pervious concrete (PC) gap has graded surface assisted with storm water management, recharging groundwater sources and alleviate water run-offs. The results have shown that the use of waste tires as aggregate built into pervious concrete has tremendously reduced the scrap tire wastes enhancing environmental compliance.

메타카올린과 폐타이어 잔입자를 사용한 고강도콘크리트의 내화성능에 관한 기초적 연구 (Fundamental Study of Fire-Proof Characteristics of High Strength Concrete Using Meta-Kaolin and Waste Tire Chip)

  • 메타카올린을 시멘트 치환재로, 잔골재를 폐타이어 잔입자로 일부 치환시킴으로써 건축물 화재시 고강도콘크리트를 폭렬로부터 보호하는 한편, 내부에 배근된 철근의 온도 상승을 억제하는 방법의 검토 및 이들 재료를 혼입한 고강도콘크리트의 기초적 성상에 대하여 검토하였다. 검토 결과 메타카올린은 콘크리트 자체의 내화성을 향상시키며, 고강도콘크리트의 내부 팽창압의 상쇄 기능을 폐타이어 잔입자가 분담할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 세부적으로는 메타카올린을 시멘트에 대해 4$\sim$8%의 중량비로, 폐타이어 잔입자를 0.6$\sim$3 mm의 입도 범위를 사용하며, 잔골재인 모래에 대해 5$\sim$10%의 중량비로 치환하는 것이 고강도콘크리트의 폭렬 방지를 위해 유효한 배합 수준인 것으로 분석되었다.

컬럼실험을 통한 바텀애쉬 및 폐타이어의 용출특성 평가 (Evaluation of Leaching Characteristics of Bottom Ash and Waste Tire)

  • 본 연구는 화력발전소에서 발생한 바텀애쉬와 폐타이어를 성토재로 사용하기 전 환경에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 바텀애쉬에 대해서는 3가지 초기 pH 4, 6, and 8 조건에서 실험하였고, 폐타이어와 바컴애쉬 폐타이어 혼합물은 pH 4 조건에서 실험하였다. 7가지 중금속 중 Pb과 Zn이 먹는물 수질기준을 초과하였으나 1 PVE안에 모두 기준을 만족하였다. 5가지 음이온 중 황산염의 농도만 기준치의 최대 10배 정도로 크게 검출이 되었으며 높은 분배계수로 인해 수질기준치 이하로 낮아지는 데 걸리는 시간도 최대 8.21 PVE에 달하였다. 혼합물의 경우 바텀애쉬와 비교 시 중금속 및 음이온의 농도를 낮추었으며 요구되는 PVE도 8.21에서 5.89로 낮추는 효과가 있었다.

  • Recently, a global trend has been established to facilitate the use of waste materials in geotechnical engineering applications. In Korea, where there is the need to save natural resources as these may become scare in the near future and to prevent excessive ground excavation for natural aggregates. The annual production of scrap tire and bottom ash has sharply increased in recent years. Therefore, it will be good waste resource recycling, if we can utilize the above wastes as fill materials in soft ground. In this study, based on the proven feasibility of bottom ash and tire shred-soil mixtures as lightweight fill materials, tire shred-bottom ash mixtures were suggested as a new lightweight fill material to replace the conventional construction material(soil) with bottom ash. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to investigate the feasibility of tire shred-bottom ash mixtures in order to estimate their suitability for the use of lightweight fill materials. So we carried out the performance tests of 2 large scale embankment which were made with tire shred-bottom ash mixture and the conventional fill material(weathered soil) respectively.

  • 폐타이어의 증가로 인하여 환경문제가 날로 심각해지고 있다. 그러므로 효율적인 재활용을 통하여 이러한 문제를 해결하는데 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐타이어를 상온분쇄기를 제작하여 미세 분말화와 초음파로 처리를 통하여 기본물성을 높이는데 목적을 두었다. 폐고무 분말의 통계학적 분석에 의해서 미세화에 따른 물성의 변화와 물리적 성질을 조사하였고, 기계적 및 가교도 등의 물성을 조사하였다. 또한 광학현미경을 사용하여 표면을 확인함으로서 제품특성을 연구하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 토목섬유의 일종인 지오셀과 새로 고안된 폐타이어로 제작된 타이어셀, 타이어 매트의 지반보강 효과를 비교ㆍ고찰 하였다. 동일한 밀도, 복토두께 조건에서 실험용 토조내 평판재하시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 타이어셀과 타이어측면의 조합 보강재가 가장 큰 지지력 증가와 침하량 감소를 나타내었다. 타이어셀과 같은 높이로 만든 지오셀의 보강효과는 타이어측면으로 만든 매트와 유사한 보강효과를 나타냈다.

  • The pyrolytic behavior of waste tire under microwave heating was investigated. Experiments were conducted using a lab- and bench-scale system to delineate the effects of microwave output power on the response. As the results of experiments, it was found that as the microwave output power was increased between 0.84 and 3.04 kW/kg, the oil yield and required time rapidly increased and decreased, respectively. With further increase of the microwave output power, the oil yield and required time did not change significantly.

  • This study presented the reinforcing effect of sands by newly devised $Tirecell^{(R)}$ made by waste tires, tire mat by sidewalls of tires and Geocell. Plate loading tests were conducted for different reinforcing materials at the same condition. The combination of Tirecell and sidewall gives the highest increase of bearing capacity and reduction of settlement. The Geocell with the same hight of Tirecell gives similar reinforcement effect to the tire mat made by sidewalls.
