Despite of the same species there is a difference in the tree shape and its wood property due to quantitatiVe and qualitatiVe differences in wood cells by the intra-annual cambial actiVity. The purpose of this study was to proVide the fundamental database of intra-annual cambial seasonal actiVity for red pine in Sokwang-ri and Anmyondo for the determination of their wood qualities. As the results of intra-annual cambial actiVity, the initiation of cambial actiVity of red pine in the plots with Age Class V in Sokwang-ri was in the middle of April and it was at the beginning of April in all plots in Anmyondo. Only the plots with Age Class IX in Sokwang-ri showed relatiVely late initiation of cambial actiVity as between middle of May and middle of June. Except one plot with Age Class IX in Sokwang-ri all plots in both sites showed the same cessation of cambial actiVity as between middle and end of October. According to intra-annual cambial actiVity, the duration of cambial actiVity in Sokwang-ri is shorter than that of Anmyondo. On the other hand, the number of cell diVision of cambial actiVity in Sokwang-ri was more than those of Anmyondo. We could establish the database for intra-annual cambial actiVity for Sokwang-ri and Anmyondo to estimate their wood quality.

Ultrasonic inspection methods are widely used for detecting flaws in materials. The signal analysis step plays a crucial part in the data interpretation process. A number of signal processing methods have been proposed to classify ultrasonic flaw signals. One of the more popular methods involves the extraction of an appropriate set of features followed by the use of a neural network for the classification of the signals in the feature spare. This paper describes an alternative approach which uses the least mean square (LMS) method and exportation maximization (EM) algorithm with the model based deconvolution which is employed for classifying nondestructive evaluation (NDE) signals from steam generator tubes in a nuclear power plant. The signals due to cracks and deposits are not significantly different. These signals must be discriminated to prevent from happening a huge disaster such as contamination of water or explosion. A model based deconvolution has been described to facilitate comparison of classification results. The method uses the space alternating generalized expectation maximiBation (SAGE) algorithm ill conjunction with the Newton-Raphson method which uses the Hessian parameter resulting in fast convergence to estimate the time of flight and the distance between the tube wall and the ultrasonic sensor. Results using these schemes for the classification of ultrasonic signals from cracks and deposits within steam generator tubes are presented and showed a reasonable performances.
The inside wall of a coal gasifier is lined with refractory, and the corrosion of the refractory is an important factor affecting the refractory lifetime and the replacement period. This paper examines the changes in microstructure of a chromia refractory due to chemical reactions with slag having varying amounts of $Fe_2O_3$. Slag samples were prepared by adding $Fe_2O_3$ to KIDECO slag, and static corrosion experiments were carried out at $1550^{\circ}C$. The layer of $(Fe,Cr)_3O_4$ formation and the depth of Fe depletion in the infiltrating slag were determined. In addition, FactSage equilibrium calculations were carried out in order to determine the conditions of formation, and to compare with the experimental observations. In the sample exposed to KIDECO slag, which has about 10 wt% $Fe_2O_3$, the formation of $(Fe,Cr)_3O_4$ was not observed. As the $Fe_2O_3$ concentration in slag increased, $(Fe,Cr)_3O_4$ formation and Fe depletion depth increased. Increasing $Fe_2O_3$ concentration also made the slag/refractory interface indistinguishable. Equilibrium calculations predicted that higher $Fe_2O_3$ concentrations favor chromite formation at gasification temperatures. The chromite formation was most favorable when the amount of $Cr_2O_3$ was limited, as in the case of dissolved $Cr_2O_3$ in slag. When the concentration of $Fe_2O_3$ in slag was less than 20%, the formation of chromite was least favorable in the system with equal amounts of slag and refractory.

Naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORMs) increase radiation exposure to the public as these materials are concentrated through artificial manufacturing processes by human activities. This study focuses on the development of a method for the quantitative analysis of $^{232}Th$, $^{235}U$, and $^{238}U$ in building materials. The accuracy and precision of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for determination of digestion processes was evaluated for certified reference materials (CRMs) digested using various mixed acid (e.g., aqua regia, hydrofluoric acid, and perchloric acid) digestions and a $LiBO_2$ fusion method. The method validation results reveal that a $LiBO_2$ fusion and $Fe(OH)_3$ co-precipitation should be applied as the optimal sample digestion process for the quantitative analysis of radionuclides in building materials. The radioactivity of $^{232}Th$, $^{235}U$, and $^{238}U$ in a total of 51 building material (e.g., board, brick, cement, paint, tile, and wall paper) samples was quantitatively analyzed using an established process. Finally, the values of $^{238}U$ and $^{232}Th$ radioactivity were comprehensively compared with those from the indirect method using ${\gamma}$-spectrometry.

The sensitivity adjectives on wall paper are collected. With the collected sensitivity adjective, we are going to develop the model which can recommend the wallpaper to customer. A large number of adjectives describing affective responses were collected from such diverse sources as questionnaire survey results, field survey results and internet survey result. To search the representative adjective of collected adjective, we used the diverse statistical analysis method. We attempted to decide the axis name of dimension through the MDS(Multi-Dimensional Scale) analysis method using the similarity matrix an4 to find a three or four reduced factors through the factor analysis method using the varimax rotation method. The result of the analysis showed that the reduced factors could account about $82\%$ when the number of factor is three(popular, elegance, and passable) ant about $93\%$ when the number of factor is four (elegance, passable, beautiful, and affectionate) On the basis of this result, we expect it can be used to develop the model recommending the wallpaper.
During the Joseon period, kimchi was mostly made by heating the ingredients. Since salt was pricey at the time, in order to save salt and time, people used a method that involved destroying the cell wall by heating the vegetables. However, this method is no longer passed down. Thus, in this paper, we re-discovered how kimchi was made through heating while analyzing the recipes for kimchi during the Joseon period. There were 27 kinds of kimchi made through blanching. To keep the vegetables from becoming soggy, 2 kinds of kimchi were made by putting the ingredients in potassium aluminum sulfate water and 3 kinds were made through blanching the ingredients in limewater. There were 7 kinds of kimchi made by heating in vinegar, 5 kinds by boiling the ingredients, 6 kinds by stir-frying the ingredients, 2 kinds by stir-frying the ingredients with salt, and 3 kinds by steaming the ingredients. In order to eradicate unwanted germs, leaving only Lactobacillus, 25 kinds of kimchi were made by draining the boiled mixture. A total of 17 kinds of kimchi were made by heating the kimchi pot with compost including that of horses. For elders with weak teeth and poor digestion, 7 kinds of kimchi were made after heating, including 3 kinds of sukkkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi made with boiled radish). 3 kinds of chaekimchi (julienned kimchi) and 3 kinds of chaekkakdugi (kimchi with julienned radish) for elders existed as well.
In this study, $TiO_2$ powders were prepared by hydro-thermal synthesis with titanium tetra isopropoxide. The prepared $TiO_2$ and the commercial $TiO_2$(P-25, Degussa) were by impregnating $H_2PtCl_6$ solution or the leached solution from the waste catalytic converter of automobile. Modified photocatalysts were analyzed by ICP-AES, UV-DRS, XRD, SEM. And band-gap energy of modified photo-catalyst was found to decreased to 1.76eV and basic structure was changed upon modification by leached solution. Modified photocatalysts were coated on the wallpaper after using mixed solution with adhesive materials(PVC). And then to know the modified photo catalysts tested the reactivity and quantum efficiency in the mixed gas with NO as reactants in the photo catalytic reactor. In the gas phase, photo-catalytic activity of NO was the highest for modified P-25 catalysts(P-25(w)) that P-25(w) was impregnated by leached solution of wasted catalytic converter.

Stresses occur in the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister due to the impulsive forces incurred in the accidental drop and impact event from the transportation vehicle onto the ground during deposition in the repository. In this paper, the comparative study of finite element analysis for stresses occurring in various models of the spent nuclear fuel disposal canister due to these impulsive forces is presented as one of design processes for the structural integrity of the canister. The main content of the study is about the design of the structurally safe canister through this comparative study. The impulsive forces applied to the canister subjected to the accidental drop and impact event from the transportation vehicle onto the ground in the repository are obtained using the commercial rigid body dynamic analysis computer code, RecurDyn. Stresses and deformations occurring due to these impulsive forces are obtained using the commercial finite element analysis computer code, NISA. The study for the structurally safe canister is carried out thru comparing and reviewing these values. The study results show that stresses become larger as the wall encompassing the spent nuclear fuel bundles inside the canister becomes thicker or as the diameter of the canister becomes larger. However, the impulsive force applied to the canister also becomes larger as the canister diameter becomes larger. Nonetheless, the deformation value per unit impulsive force decreases as the canister diameter increases. Therefore, conclusively the canister is structurally safe as the diameter increases.

A key component of an autonomous mobile robot is to localize itself and build a map of the environment simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a vision-based localization and mapping algorithm of mobile robot using fisheye lens. To acquire high-level features with scale invariance, a camera with fisheye lens facing toward to ceiling is attached to the robot. These features are used in mP building and localization. As a preprocessing, input image from fisheye lens is calibrated to remove radial distortion and then labeling and convex hull techniques are used to segment ceiling and wall region for the calibrated image. At the initial map building process, features we calculated for each segmented region and stored in map database. Features are continuously calculated for sequential input images and matched to the map. n some features are not matched, those features are added to the map. This map matching and updating process is continued until map building process is finished, Localization is used in map building process and searching the location of the robot on the map. The calculated features at the position of the robot are matched to the existing map to estimate the real position of the robot, and map building database is updated at the same time. By the proposed method, the elapsed time for map building is within 2 minutes for 50㎡ region, the positioning accuracy is ±13cm and the error about the positioning angle of the robot is ±3 degree for localization.
