  • CuO doped $WO_3-SnO_2$ thick film gas sensors were fabricated by screen printing method on alumina substrates and heat-treated at $350^{\circ}C$ in air. The effects of mixing ratio of $WO_3$ with $SnO_2$ on the structural and morphological properties of $WO_3-SnO_2$ were investigated X-ray diffraction and Scanning Electron Microscope. The structural properties of the $WO_3-SnO_2$:CuO thick film by XRD showed that the monoclinic of $WO_3$ and the tetragonal of $SnO_2$ phase were mixed. Nano CuO was coated on the $WO_3-SnO_2$ surface and then the surface of $WO_3$ was coated with $SnO_2$ particles with $1\sim1.5{\mu}m$ in diameters, as confirmed form the SEM image. The sensitivity of the $WO_3-SnO_2$:CuO sensor to 2000 ppm $CO_2$ gas and 50 ppm $H_2S$ gas for the various ratio of $WO_3$ and $SnO_2$ was investigated. The 4 wt% CuO doped $WO_3-SnO_2$(75:25) tkick films showed the highest sensitivity to $CO_2$ gas and $H_2S$ gas.

  • Physicochemical and electrical properties for hydrogen gas sensors based on Pd-deposited $WO_3$ thin films were investigated as a function of Pd thickness, annealing temperature, and operating temperature. $WO_3$ thin films were deposited on an insulating material by thermal evaporator. XRD, FE-SEM, AFM, and XPS were used to evaluate the crystal structure, microstructure, surface roughness, and chemical property, respectively. The deposited films were grown $WO_3$ polycrystalline with rhombohedral structure after annealing at $500^{\circ}C$. The addition effect of Pd is not the crystallinity but the suppression of grain growth of $WO_3$. Pd was scattered an isolated small spherical grain on $WO_3$ thin film after annealing at $500^{\circ}C$ and it was agglomerated as an irregular large grain or diffused into $WO_3$ after annealing at $600^{\circ}C$. 2 nm Pd-deposited $WO_3$ thin films operated at $250^{\circ}C$ showed good response and recovery property.

  • 졸-겔 기술에 의해 $WO_3$ 다충박막이 유리와 ITO coated glass 위에 증착되었다. 특성은 XRD, 분광광도계, DTA/TGA, SEM/EDAX 그리고 RBS에 의해서 분석되었다. 균질한 $WO_3$막은 유리기판위에 dipping속도 5mm/s에서 증착 되었으며 이 시료는 희석된 HCI 전해액을 사용하여 착색시킨 결과 낮은 근적외선 투과율을 나타내었다. DTA 결과 $380^{\circ}C{\sim}500^{\circ}C$ 범위의 gel data는 $WO_3$의 결정화 온도 형성을 결정하였으며 이 측정치는 졸-겔 박막의 결정화 온도와 일치하였다. RBS에 의해 착색되지 않은 $WO_3$ 졸-겔 막의 화학조성은 $WO_3$였다.

초음파 밀링한 WO3-CuO 나노혼합분말의 수소환원 거동 (The Hydrogen Reduction Behavior of Ultrasonic Ball-milled WO3-CuO Nanopowder)

  • The hydrogen reduction behavior of ultrasonic ball-milled $WO_3-CuO$ nanopowder, which is highly related with micro-pore structure, was investigated by thermogravimetry(TG) and hygrometry system. EDS and TEM results represented that the ultrasonic ball-milled $WO_3-CuO$ nanopowder consisted of the agglomerates which was confirmed as a homogeneous mixture of $WO_3$ and CuO particles. It was found that the reduction reaction of CuO was retarded by initial micro-pores which are smaller than 40 nm in the ultrasonic ball-milled $WO_3-CuO$ nanopowder. The earlier agglomeration of Cu particles at comparably low temperature decreased the volume of micro-pores in the $WO_3-CuO$ nanopowder which caused the retardation of $WO_3$ reduction reaction. These results clearly explain that the micro-pore structure significantly affected the reduction reaction of $WO_3$ and CuO in the $WO_3-CuO$ nanopowder.

  • Recently, due to increase in the usage of toxic gas and inflammability gas, the ability to monitor and precisely measurement of these gases is crucial in preventing the occurrence of various accidents. CuO doped and undoped $WO_3$ thick films gas sensors were prepared using screen-printing method on alumina substrates. A structural properties of $WO_3$:CuO thick films had monoclinic phase and triclinic phase of $WO_3$ together. Sensitivity of $WO_3$:CuO sensor at 2000 ppm of $CO_2$ gas and 50 ppm of $H_2S$ gas was investigated. 4 wt% Cu doped $WO_3$ thick films had the highest sensitivity of $CO_2$ gas and $H_2S$ gas.

  • $WO_{3}$에 미량의 Pd 또는 Pt가 첨가된 박막을 이용한 NOx 센서를 제조하였다. $WO_{3}$계 박막은 고진공, 저항가연식 evaporator를 이용하여 분위기온도에서 증착한 다음 $500^{\circ}C$에서 열처리하였다. 5 ppm의 $NO_{2}$가스에 대하여 $200^{\circ}C$에서 측정한 가스감도($R_{gas}/R_{air}$)는 0.5 wt.% $Pt-WO_{3}$ 센서에서 50으로서 최대값을 가졌다.

  • 본 연구에서는 보다 효율적인 광 전기화학적 수소제조를 위하여 광촉매로써 산화텅스텐에 티타늄을 함침하여 $Ti/WO_3$ 나노입자를 제조하였다. 제조한 $Ti/WO_3$의 물리적 특성은 X-선 회절분석법(XRD), 주사전자현미경(SEM), 발광분광계(PL), 원자간력 현미경(AFM), 정전기 현미경(EFM)을 통해 확인하였다. 메탄올/물 (1/1) 광분해 수소제조 실험 결과, 순수 아나타제 티타니아나 산화텅스텐 광촉매보다 $Ti/WO_3$ 광촉매에서 촉매활성이 향상되었으며, 0.5 g의 0.10 mol % $Ti/WO_3$ 촉매를 사용한 경우 8시간 반응 시 3.02 mL의 수소가 발생되었다.

  • WO3 광촉매의 광분해 성능을 증대시키기 위하여 산소결핍자리 생성을 유도하기 위한 불소 도핑을 수행하였다. 불소 도핑을 위하여 플라즈마 불소화와 직접 기상 불소화를 진행하였으며, 두 가지 방법으로 불소화한 WO3 광촉매의 광분해 성능을 비교하기 위하여 메틸렌블루 염료 분해 성능을 평가하였다. 플라즈마 불소화한 WO3 광촉매와 직접 기상 불소화한 WO3 광촉매의 산소결핍자리는 각 14.65 및 18.59%로 미처리 WO3 광촉매 대비 각 23, 56% 증가하였으며, WO3 광촉매의 산소결핍자리가 증가함에 따라 메틸렌블루 염료분해 성능 역시 미처리 WO3 광촉매 대비 각 1.7, 3.4배 증가한 것을 확인하였다. 또한 불소 도핑 후 밴드갭 에너지는 각 2.95 eV에서 2.64, 2.45 eV로 감소한 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과로 미루어 보아 직접 기상 불소화 공정이 플라즈마 불소화 공정과 비교하여 WO3 광촉매의 활성을 증대시키는데 유리한 공정인 것으로 사료된다.

Effect of Al2O3 Addition and WO3 Modification on Catalytic Activity of NiO/Al2O3-TiO2/WO3 for Ethylene Dimerization

  • Strong solid acid catalysts, NiO/Al2O3-TiO2/WO3 for ethylene dimerization were prepared by the addition of Al2O3 and the modification with WO3. The acid sites and acid strength were increased by the inductive effect of WO3 species bonded to the surface of catalysts. The larger the dispersed WO3 amount, the higher both the acidity and catalytic activity for ethylene dimerization. The addition of Al2O3 to TiO2 up to 5 mol% enhanced acidity and catalytic activity gradually due to the interaction between Al2O3 and TiO2 and consequent formation of Al-O-Ti bond.
