Evaluation of Volatile Compounds Isolated from Pork Loin (Longissimus dorsi) as Affected by Fiber Type of Solid-phase Microextraction (SPME), Preheating and Storage Time

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of heating, fiber type used in solid-phase microextraction (SPME, two phase vs three phase) and storage time on the volatile compounds of porcine M. longissimus dorsi (LD). Volatile compounds were measured using a gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) with a quadrupole mass analyzer. Among the volatile compounds identified, aldehydes (49.33%), alcohols (24.63%) and ketones (9.85%) were higher in pre-heated loins ($100^{\circ}C$/30 min), whereas, alcohols (34.33%), hydrocarbons (22.84%) and ketones (16.88%) were higher in non-heated loins. Heating of loins induced the formation of various volatile compounds such as aldehydes (hexanal) and alcohols. The total contents of hydrocarbons, alcohols, and carboxylic acids were higher in two phase fibers, whereas those of esters tended to be higher in three-phase fibers (p<0.05). Most volatile compounds increased (p<0.05) with increased storage time. Thus, the analysis of volatile compounds were affected by the fiber type, while heating and refrigerated storage of pork M. longissimus dorsi increased the volatile compounds derived from lipid oxidation and amino acid catabolism, respectively.

낙동강 하구둑 주변의 수리특성 분석 (Analysis on Hydraulic Characteristics in Nakdong Estuary Barrage)

  • 하천과 바다가 만나는 하구는 자연적인 기능 뿐만 아니라 공학적인 측면에서도 매우 중요한 자원이다. 우리나라는 국토의 개발에 따른 용수 사용의 증가, 홍수재해대책 등으로 인해 한강을 제외한 4대강에 하구둑을 건설하였으며 강물과 바닷물을 인위적으로 차단하는 구조물이므로 하천의 생태적인 기능을 손상시키는 것은 불가피 하다. 하지만 이러한 단점에도 불구하고 하구둑이 건설되는 가장 큰 목적 중의 하나는 주변지역의 안정된 용수공급이다. 1987년에 완공된 낙동강 하구둑은 건설 이 후 약 20년 동안 안정된 용수공급과 효율적 운영으로 관리되어 왔지만 그동안 기상 및 수리 수문뿐만 아니라 환경적으로 크고 작은 변화가 있었다. 하천의 기수역인 하구에서 유체는 하구둑이라는 구조물이 존재하지 않을 때도 매우 복잡하게 거동한다. 하천의 유량, 지형학적 요소 그리고 조위의 상태 등 여러 가지 요인으로 인하여 비정상적으로 변화하며 이러한 하구에서 유체의 거동을 보다 더 정확하게 묘사하려면 흐름방향, 수심방향, 하폭방향의 3차원적인 해석이 필요하다. 하지만 하천과 바다를 밀도가 같은 하나의 상으로 가정하고 수행한 수문학적인 분석이나 1 2차원 수치모형을 활용한 수리 분석 결과는 시간적 공간적으로 경제적이고 양호한 결과를 산출해낼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 낙동강 하구둑의 수리특성을 분석하기 위하여 미국 기상청의 홍수추적모형인 FLDWAV 모형과 미수로국(WES)의 2차원 유한요소 모형인 RMA-2 모형을 활용하였으며 낙동강유역 주요 수위관측소의 실측자료를 토대로 매개변수 검정을 실시하였다. 분석결과 조위가 고려된 2차원 유속장을 구현하였으며 하구둑 유지 관리 개선에 기여코자 하였다.

뇌졸중 환자의 임상적 연구 -대전과 진주지역을 중심으로- (Clinical study of stroke patients in Korea)

  • This study was conducted in order to determined the risk factors and general characteristics in stroke patients. This study was performed by interviewing a total of 92 hospitalized in Hanil hospital, Chinju and Eulji Medical Collage Hospital, Taejon from January 1, 1998 to February 28, 1999. The results are as follow; 1. Of the types of the strokes, hemorrhagic was 58.8%, ischemic was 41.1%. 2. The family history was appeared to 72.2% of total and did not exercise 64.1% of male and 59.5% of female during weak. 3. The korean peoples as the likes rather Chinese medicine and folk remedy than Wes-ern medicine so late treatment of early stage. 4. Generally, in drinking, smoking, fatness and overeating meat known to affect on stroke both male and female had signification difference. 5. These 75.5% of the subjects was recognizing to necessity of physical therapy.

The Direct Recycling of Electric Arc Furnace Stainless Steelmaking Dust

  • This paper focuses on the pilot-scale investigation of direct recycling of electric arc furnace (EAF) stainless steelmaking dust. The direct recycling of EAF dust is to make pellets with the mixture of the dust and the reducing agent carbon, then introduce the pellets to the EAF. The valuable metals in the dust are reduced and get into the steel as the alloying elements. Experiments simulating direct recycling in an EAF were performed using an induction furnace. But it seems difficult to reduce all metal oxides in the dust so that some metal reducing agents added in the late stage of reduction process. The valuable metals in the dust were reduced partly by carbon and partly by metal reducing agent for the economical concern. The recovery of iron, chromium and nickel from the flue dust and the amount of metal oxides in the slag were measured. The results showed that the direct recycling of EAF stainless steelmaking dust is practicable. It wes also found that direct recycling of flue EAF stainless steelmaking dusts does not affect the chemistry and quality of stainless steel produced in the EAF. It is benefit not only for the environmental protection but also for the recovery of valuable metal resources in this way.

졸업 후 물리치료사의 교육환경특성에 대한 조사연구 (The Survey of the Characteristics of Educational Environment on Post-Graduate Physical Therapists)

  • Background: The main purpose of this study was to know the educational environment on physical therapists who were working at clinical field after graduation. Methods: The subjects of this study were 241 therapists who took and OMPT or PNF course at Seoul, Incheon and Kyounggido. The data were collected during April to June 2012. The data were analysis by SPSS PC by cross-tab, mean, percentage. Results: The general characteristics of physical therapists who took post-graduate education: female (56.0%), 1-3 years clinical experience (41.5%), 25-29 years old (46.5%). The main reason to take post-graduate educational program was to learn more high quality therapeutic skills for the patients treatment (88.4%). But the condition of environment wes poor such as they pay all of expenses by themselves (54.9%), not permit to take international post-graduate educational program (77.2%). Conclusions : For the better post-graduate educational environment for the physical therapists, it needs systemic plan and sequential strategy with passion for the future.

  • 복합재료의 비파괴 검사 방법에 관한 연구는 복합재료의 신뢰성 및 안전성을 개선시키는데 매우 중요하다. AE기법은 소성변형, 섬유파손, 모재균열 또는 박리에 의해 생성되는 탄성파에서 감지되는 변형 에너지를 감지하여 결함을 평가하는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 외부 수압을 받는 필라멘트 와인딩 복합재 원통과 샌드위치 원통의 수압시험이 수행되었고, PVDF센서로부터 측정된 AE 신호특성을 분석하였다. 또한, L-C 동조회로와 Band-pass filter 회로를 가진 AE 신호분석기를 설계, 제작 하였으며, 필라멘트 와인딩 원통과 샌드위치 원통에 대한 수압실험에서 제작된 AE 신호분석기의 균열 검출 능력을 평가하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 한국을 방문하는 외국인들을 대상으로 한식의 브랜드이미지가 한식의 만족도에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 한국 대표음식을 조절변수로 어떤 영향이 있는지 조사하였다. 연구의 조사는 영어를 사용하는 방한외국인 277명을 대상으로 출국하는 외국인과 외국 관광객을 담당하는 여행사 직원에게 설문조사의 목적과 설문 방법에 대해 충분한 설명을 한 후, 그 담당자의 책임 하에 자기기입식으로 설문조사를 했다. 설문조사를 하였다. 연구결과, 한식 브랜드이미지 중 품질안정성, 매력성, 건강증진성은 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 가족지향성은 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 한식 대표음식의 식사류를 조절변수로 하여 나온 결과는 가족지향성이 긍정적인 조절효과가 있었으며, 고기류를 조절변수로 나온 결과는 품질 안정성이 긍정적인 조절효과가 있었다.

Study on the Rigidity of the Solid-HDDR Treated Nd-Fe-B-type Materials

  • A non-coercive cast Nd-Fe-B-type material can be easily converted into a coercive one by employing HDDR process. Applying the conventional HDDR process to the Nd-Fe-B-type material generally leads to a powder-like material. HDDR treated material in a solid form can, however, be realised if the process is properly modified (solid-HDDR). In the present study, the change of rigidity (compressive strength) of the Nd-Fe-B-type material during the solid-HDDR has been investigated using a homogeneous sintered magnet with composition $Nd_{13.8}Dy_{0.7}Fe_{78.25}Si_{0.15}Mn_{0.6}B_{6.5}.$ It has been found that the low strength of the hydrided material was improved by the subsequent disproportionation. The restoration of the strength was explained by the eutectoid-like disproportionation structure containing fine neodymium hydride rod embedded in tough iron matrix. The high strength of disproportionated material was reduced radically in earlier stage of recombination, and this wes explained by the reduction of the disproportionated phase. The reduced strength was, however, recovered by further recombination, and this was explained by the fact that as the recombination continues the recombined grains adhere together. The optimally HDDR processed material has a comparable or even higher strength with respect to the initial sintered material prior to the solid-HDDR. The present study suggested that the rigidity of Nd-Fe-B-type material could be retained even after the solid-HDDR.

활성슬러지내의 전기화학적활성 박테리아 분포 특성 (Distribution of Electrochemically Active Bacteria in Activated Sludge Characteristics)

  • Microbial fuel cell (MFC) wes enriched using sludge in wastewater treatment. The microbial community of activated sludge and enriched MFC were analyzed by FISH (fluorescent in situ hybridization) and 16S rDNA sequencing. Bacteroidetes group were pre-dominant in activated sludge by FISH. ${\alpha}$ group, ${\gamma}$ group and Acintobacter group were dominant and they were similar to distribution. The average value of 10 peak of MFC is 0.44C. When MFC wase enriched by sludge, ${\gamma}$-Proteobacteria, Plantomycetes group increased 70% and 60%, respectively. In results of 16S rDNA sequencing, Sphiringomonas sp. was comprised in ${\alpha}$ proteobacteria and Enterobacter sp., Klebsiella sp., Acinetobacter sp., Bacillus sp. were comprised in ${\gamma}$ proteobacteria and Chryseobacterium sp. was comprised in Flavobacteria were isolated from sludge.

Properties of Working Electrodes with Polystyrene Beads Addition in Dye Sensitized Solar Cells

  • We prepared the $TiO_2$ layer with 0 ~ 4 wt% of polystyrene (PS) beads having a radius of 250 nm to increase the dye adsorption and energy conversion efficiency (ECE) of a dye sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Then, we fabricated DSSCs using $0.45cm^2$ active area. FE-SEM was used to characterize the microstructure consisting of $TiO_2$ layer and PS beads. UV-VIS-NIR was used to determine the optical absorbance of working electrodes (WEs). Solar simulator and potentiostat were used to determine the photovoltaic properties. We observed that pores having a radius of 250 nm were formed with the density of $0.15ea/{\mu}m^2$ in $TiO_2$ layers after conducting the sintering process. The absorbance in visible light regime was found to increase with the increase in the amount of PS beads. The ECE increased from 4.66% to 5.25% when the amount of PS beads was increased from 0 to 4 wt%. This is because the pores of PS beads increased the adsorption of dye. Our results indicate that the ECE of the DSSCs can be enhanced by the addition of an appropriate amount of PS beads into $TiO_2$ layers.
