Design of WCDMA Indoor Repeater Antenna for High Isolation using the Absorber based on Metamaterial Structure (메타구조 기반의 흡수체를 이용한 높은 격리도 특성의 WCDMA 댁내형 중계기 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, WCDMA indoor repeater antenna using an absorber based on metamaterial structure for high isolation is proposed. The proposed antenna consist of the main patch with the absorber based on metamaterial structure and parasitic patch. The WCDMA bandwidth is obtained by utilizing the coupling between the main and parasitic patches. The size of the absorber based on metamaterial structure is $13mm{\times}13mm$, the absorption is about 94 % at 2.18 GHz. The isolation characteristic of proposed WCDMA indoor repeater antenna between the service and donor antennas is improved by using a absorber based on metamaterial. The proposed WCDMA indoor repeater antenna has a gain higher than 6 dBi with a VSWR less than 2, and an isolation between the service and donor antennas greater than 85 dB over the WCDMA band from 1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz. And size of the proposed antenna is $75mm{\times}75mm$.

  • In this paper wideband dipole antenna that is usable as PCS/WCDMA/WiBro/WiMax public relay station antenna is proposed. The proposed antenna that designed by using double ring structure improves bandwidth performance of existing dipole antenna to wideband performance. To verify wideband performance and isotropic radiation pattern of the proposed antenna, simulation and fabrication have progressed its radiation characteristic has measured and then compared with calculated result. Measured result is similar to calculated result and has gain of 2dB VSWR of 2:1 over 1.75~3GHz. It is considered that the dipole antenna that designed in this paper can be usable as PCS/WCDMA/WiBro/WiMax public relay station antenna.

  • In this paper, an absorber based on metamaterial is proposed to improve the isolation of conventional WCDMA indoor repeater antenna. The proposed absorber is composed of Double Split Ring Resonators(DSRRs) and Complementary Spiral(CS) structure. The proposed absorber based on metamaterial is $9.6mm{\times}9.6mm{\times}1.2mm$ and absorption is about 94 % at 2.2875 GHz. The proposed antenna, which proposed absorber is applied to conventional WCDMA indoor repeater antenna, has isolation over 85 dB. Isolation is improved more than 10 dB compared with the conventional antenna. The VSWR is lower than 2 at WCDMA band from 1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz. The radiation patterns are $60^{\circ}{\pm}10^{\circ}$ E-plane and H-plane, respectively. And, the gain is more than 6 dBi. The volume of proposed antenna with absorber based on metamaterial is $90mm{\times}90mm{\times}44.8mm$.

  • In recent years, logistics tracking Device using GSM & WCDMA to improve logistics efficiency are being extensively researched. The purpose of this paper is to examine the performance development antenna usable cargo container security transport. Antenna developed by study were optimized to match logistics environment apply to GSM & WCDMA dual frequency for monitering system. The measure of antenna have confirmation VSWR is 3:1 measured in return loss -10dB. Reliability of this antenna has been verified about GSM & WCDMA through test-operation between the south korea and Russia.

  • In this paper, we designed and implemented the MIMO antenna for LTE(Long Term Evolution), supposed to be a next generation communications network, DCS1800, DCS1900 and WCDMA. Using conventional monopole antenna with MD material results in good characteristics, miniaturization for LTE band and as well as broadbanding for DCS, WCDMA band. The performance of the proposed MIMO antenna shows VSWR < 2, under -10 dB of isolation and the gain is -1.66 ~ 1.33 dBi for LTE(Long Term Evolution), DCS1800, DCS1900 and WCDMA, which has omnidirectional radiation pattern.

  • In this paper, the cross monopole antenna with branch element is presented and its radiation characteristics are investigated. To confirm the broadband characteristics of the proposed antenna, the experimental antenna is designed, fabricated, and its radiation characteristics are measured in PCS, WCDMA, WiBro and S-DMB band(1.750~2.655 GHz). It is shown that the designed antenna has the non-directional pattern in the horizontal plane, the directional pattern in the vertical plane, VSWR less than 1.5 and gain over 1.9 dBi in 1.72~2.82 GHz. From these results, the presented antenna is conformed as a broadband antenna which can be used for PCS, WCDMA, WiBro and S-DMB band.

  • In this paper, a wide-band dipole antenna suitable for use in PCS/WCDMA/WiBro($1.750{\sim}2.39\;GHz$) base station array antenna is presented. The presented antenna is a dipole antenna with pate which has the reflector element and improves the gain flatness. To confirm the wide-band characteristics and the gain flatness of the presented antenna, the experimental antenna is fabricated and its radiation characteristics are measured, compared with calculated results. It is shown that the designed antenna has VSWR less than 1.5, gain over 5 dBi, and gain flatness 0.74 dB in $1.75{\sim}2.39\;GHz$. The measured results show good agreement with the calculated results. From these results, we confirm that the designed antenna can be used as a array element of the wide-band base station array antenna for PCS/WCDMA/WiBro.

  • An interleaving delay diversity scheme is investigated in this paperand the applications in the multi-code WCDMA system along with antenna selection diversity is proposed. The proposed algorithm utilizes interleaving and delayed duplicated transmission mechanism to mitigate the effect of noise and fading. The interleaved signal and the original signal are both transmitted at intervals to obtain time diversity without any increase in required capacity. By adjusting the number of retransmissions of the information signal properly, the system achieve the receive diversity efficiently. For transmission power efficiency the proposed system also applies antenna selection diversity. By computer simulation, it has been shown that the proposed algorithm achieves better performance than the conventional algorithms by more than 2dB.

  • A hybrid MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) antenna which is operating both a monopole and a IFA(Inverted F Antenna) is designed. It's applied Vlade(Vertical lade) technique to reduce antenna space, and a diagonally fed MIMO antenna is designed on the bare board for the data communication. Return losses due to variables of antenna length are simulated for the design. Antenna for the hexa-frequency band of LTE700, CDMA, GSM, DCS, PCS and WCDMA is designed and implemented. This antenna is satisfied 3:1 VSWR over the whole design band by the measurement of return loss. And average gains and efficiencies were -3.67 ~ -2.53dBi and 42.06 ~ 55.84% for LTE700/CDMA/GSM frequency band, -3.27 ~ -1.21dBi and 47.08 ~ 75.6% for DCS/PCS/WCDMA frequency band. The isolation between 2 antenna that is one of important factors for the MIMO system was measured good performance as -8.14 ~ -25.77dB over the whole service band.

  • In this paper, we proposed a internal antenna for Quad band for GSM/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA Handset. Antenna Structure is designed to PIFA type. Antenna planed two independence patterns to reduce the size for efficiency and used shoting pin and inverse seven_type slit. Also they miniaturized the antenna construction electronic length for duty. furthermore, they designed and producted the antena height for 5w and ground term for 40*80mm. It is because they have wondered the thickness of terminal. used of for reduce size efficiently. The radiation pattern characteristic of antenna is compared and analyzed E-plane and H-plane at 920MHz, 1800MHz.
