Health inequality means health gaps that can be affected adverse effects to the vulnerable groups in a society. Many scholars argue that it is needed social interventions to reduce health gaps between the vulnerable and the privileged in a society, because social inequalities can be caused and resulted health inequality among them. In this context, this article introduces Korean out of school children health check-up as part of the policies to reduce health inequality in the society. For a long time, many out of school children have been alienated from the national health checkup systems. That means they are not only marginalized groups in Korean society, but also excluded from the benefits of health promotion and health management. Many runaway youths are struggling to live by themselves, who are escaped from their families and they don't have enough resources to keep their health. They are also young and low waged workers who are expelled to the streets, while they don't have any support and protection from the communities. Out of school children health checkup has been conducted to the adolescents who stay in the shelters or study in alternative schools. To get meaningful results as the health inequality reduction policy, it is needed to expand out of children health checkup to the runaway teenagers.
This study focuses on the right to self-determination, which has a higher possibility of infringement on rights, for people with developmental disabilities, who are more vulnerable to rights protection than other types of disabilities, and seeks to obtain implications of the basis for academic discussion and practical strategies. To this end, data were collected through a structured survey on 302 social workers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon area to identify the importance and execution degree of self-determination components of the developmental disabled, and descriptive analysis, differences. analysis, matrix analysis was applied. As a result of the analysis, the importance and performance degree were evaluated at an absolute level lower than the positive level, and the overall average standard execution degree was found to be applied relatively later, and the difference between the two levels was statistically significant. Meanwhile, goal setting and achievement, self-management and regulation, branch recognition and perception, etc. were identified as under-action elements as disparity between importance and performance. Therefore, in order to improve the balanced positivity of social workers and people with developmental disabilities in consideration of the reciprocity of human rights protection, applied behavior analysis, positive behavior support, and individualized service plan based on the application of a person-centered program and self-determination improvement program are applied. Suggestions were made on detailed strategies such as accounting.
In general, security employees are more vulnerable to the risk of various incidents and accidents due to the specificity of their work, and they are less exposed to job satisfaction due to irregular working hours such as night shifts and physical labor. There is a concern that conflicts over turnover will be intensified. Therefore, companies should pay attention to job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention through effective human resource management of security employees who have influence on company's profit creation, so that companies should strive for competitiveness and development. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of casino security employee's job satisfaction on organizational commitment and turnover intentions in a questionnaire survey of security employees at Grand Korea Leisure Corporation. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 24.0. As a result of this study, it can be concluded that the higher the job satisfaction of the public enterprise security workers, the higher the organizational commitment and the lower the turnover intention. Therefore, if the company has competitiveness through effective human resource management that affects the wage satisfaction, promotion satisfaction, boss satisfaction and turnover intention affecting the organizational commitment, This study can be applied in the sense that it is possible to give.
As these days people spend most of time at inner space, indoor air quality affect human life seriously. Government manage indoor air quality of various facilities based on different laws. Government released that they would try to protect environment for vulnerable people such children and seniors from indoor air pollutants in 2015. But social welfare facilities are exception under current legal systems. Clients of social welfare residential facilities are the disables, the elderly, homeless and children and they usually stay inner space very long time. The purpose of this study is explore workers' attitude and related factors about indoor air quality management of social welfare facilities. 69.5% of respondents agree to government's indoor air quality management, 80.9% of respondents think social welfare facilities must be included in legal system for indoor air quality management. Environmental awareness and law awareness were related with attitude to indoor air quality management. Based on the results of the analysis, I propose the amendment of law on indoor air quality of the Ministry of Environment, cost burden of central or local government and the necessity of education and research on indoor air quality management in social welfare facilities.
This study was conducted from November 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017 in 268 women in late postmenopausal period in D and S shipyards located in G city. The subjects were divided into two groups according to the risk factors of cerebrovascular disease according to the presence or absence of risk factors of cerebrovascular disease. The subjects were divided into two groups according to their general characteristics, cerebrovascular disease prevention knowledge, attitude and health behavior. The variables that had statistically significant difference in health group and risk group were age (F=92.239, p<.001), cohabitation type ($x^2=20.056$, p<.001), income level ($x^2=39.023$, p<.001), the number of working hours per week (F=32.217, p<.001), the number of working years (F=12.310, p=.001), family history of cardiovascular disease ($x^2=233.442$, p<.001), subjective health status($x^2=19.058$, p=.001). There was a significant difference between the two groups in the degree of knowledge related to prevention of cardiovascular disease (F=2.679, p=.008) and health behavior fulfillment (F=4.339, p<.001). (r=.348, p<.001), the risk group had a higher knowledge (r=.279, p=.002), and the other group Attitude (r=.194, p=.030) showed a statistically significant correlation. Based on this, it is necessary to develop and apply an intervention program considering the characteristics of vulnerable group of cerebrovascular disease.

The goal of this study is to analyze the complicated and diverse nature of the relationship between work and family life for the study paper instructors of whom are married women. The survey data for these analyses were from an in depth interview which was conducted with the 21 contingent female workers as study samples. They are the married women, who started to work or returned to work after an absence to raise a family. The results showed that in reality the contingent female worker faced worse working conditions than the full time female labour force, even if women were determined to be a study paper instructor to meet work and family demand. It was the contingent women worker with a short time work experience who were in the worst position tlo adjust their working arrangements to suit their family needs and were confronted with the greater inter-role friction as a vulnerable group. The study revealed that instrumental and emotional support of husband has a positive effect on maintaining job role and lessening role conflicts and stress of the women. The work/family relationship indicated its double side, conflict and support. The women simply could not afford to depend on the psychological support form family in the midst of the inferior employment conditions and the absence of social support. This strategy, however, was based on the family ideology and the patriarchal gender division of labor. It caused the overload, stress and poor health of women involving some risk to give up the work.

Objectives Hospitalized patients are vulnerable to sleep disturbances because of environmental stresses including noise. While most previous studies on hospital noise and sleep have been performed for medical machines in intensive care units, there is a limited data for patients hospitalized in medical wardrooms. The purpose of present study was to measure noise level of medical wardrooms, identify patient-perceived sources of noise, and to examine the association between noise levels and sleep disturbances in hospitalized patients. Methods Noise dosimeters were used to measure noise level in 29 inpatient wardrooms at a university hospital. Sleep pattern and disturbance were assessed in 103 hospitalized patients, using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Leeds Sleep Evaluation Questionnaire. Results The mean equivalent continuous noise level for 24 hours was 63.5 decibel A (dBA), which was far higher than 30 dBA recommended by the World Health Organization for hospital wardrooms. Other patients sharing a room were perceived as the most common source of noise by the patients, which was usually preventable. Of the patients in the study, 86% had bad sleep as assessed by the PSQI. The sleep disturbance was significantly correlated with increasing noise levels in a dose response manner. Conclusions Systemic organizational interventions are needed to keep wardrooms private and quiet to reduce sleep disturbance.
Background: In the absence of a vaccine or treatment, the most pragmatic strategies against an infectious disease pandemic are extensive early detection testing and social distancing. This study aimed to summarize public and workplace responses to Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) and show how the Korean system has operated during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: Daily briefings from the Korean Center for Disease Control and the Central Disaster Management Headquarters were assembled from January 20 to May 15, 2020. Results: By May 15, 2020, 11,018 COVID-19 cases were identified, of which 15.7% occurred in workplaces such as health-care facilities, call centers, sports clubs, coin karaoke, and nightlife destinations. When the first confirmed case was diagnosed, the Korean Center for Disease Control and Central Disaster Management Headquarters responded quickly, emphasizing early detection with numerous tests and a social distancing policy. This slowed the spread of infection without intensive containment, shut down, or mitigation interventions. After entering the public health blue alert level, a business continuity plan was distributed. After entering the orange level, the Ministry of Employment and Labor developed workplace guidelines for COVID-19 consisting of social distancing, flexible working schedules, early identification of workers with suspected infections, and disinfection of workplaces. Owing to the intensive workplace social distancing policy, workplaces remained safe with only small sporadic group infections. Conclusion: The workplace social distancing policy with timely implementation of specific guidelines was a key to preventing a large outbreak of COVID-19 in Korean workplaces. However, sporadic incidents of COVID-19 are still ongoing, and risk assessment in vulnerable workplaces should be continued.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the effects of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) genetic polymorphism and job stress on the severity of alcohol drinking. It was hypothesized that individuals with the Met/Met BDNF genotype would be more vulnerable than those carrying the Val allele. Methods : Participants were 133 healthy Korean adults (mean age $28.2{\pm}1.1$). Job stress and the severity index of drinking were investigated through self-reported questionnaires. BDNF (rs6265) gene was genotyped. Results : There was no significant association between job stress and the severity of alcohol drinking. Although the severity of alcohol drinking was not associated with BDNF genetic polymorphism, there was a significant difference in men according to genotype and job stress. Men with homozygous BDNF Met allele were more severe in alcohol drinking when job stress was high, less severe in alcohol drinking when job stress was low than those carrying the Val allele (F = 4.47, p = 0.038). Also higher level of job stress was correlated with higher severity of alcohol drinking in men homozygous for BDNF Met allele (rs = 0.620, p = 0.005). Conclusions : These findings suggest the possibility that Met allele could have differential susceptibility, with men homozygous for BDNF Met allele being more susceptible to both more adverse and less adverse environmental influences.
Can job training be considered a social right? Who must bear the costs of individual job training? This paper studies these two issues by examining the Korean Individual Learning Accounts (ILA) revised in 2020 and proposes future policy directions. Although there is no explicit legal provision stipulating job training as a lawful right in Korea, such absence does not negate the government's role of providing vulnerable people, etc with necessary training. Korean ILA heavily depends on the Skills Development Scheme under the Employment Insurance System which succeeded the past mandatory training levy system and it becomes harder to maintain principle of insurance because of sizable volume of atypical workers who are not insured. For future policy directions, it is desirable to increase the burden of general budget and self-financing as they are below 30% combined and the coverage of the ILA needs to be steadily expanded to all economically active people. Also, labor-management should step up joint efforts to stimulate the use of already existing policies such as paid training leave and request for reduction of working hours.
