To explore the relationship between economic status and food and nutrient intake patterns, the 2001 National Health and Nutrition Survey result was analyzed. Dietary intake data of 6,978 Korean adults of 20 years and older who participated in the 2001 National Health and Nutrition Survey were used along with their demographic data. Economic status of the subjects was classified into the following 4 groups based on the self-reported average monthly income of household with reference to the minimum monthly living expenses (MLE) in 2001 : low < $100\%$ MLE $\leq$ middle < $200\%$ MLE $\leq$ high < $300\%$ MLE $\leq$ higher, Individuals in the higher income class had significantly higher mean intake for most of the nutrients including energy, protein, carbohydrate, fat, calcium, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin and vitamin C, and a higher percentage of energy intake from fat. In addition, they consumed more animal foods including meats, eggs, fish/shellfish, milk/dairy products and fats. On the other hand, the mean intakes of individuals in the lower economic class for calcium, vitamin A, and riboflavin were lower than $75\%$ of RDAs. And, there was a predominant difference in contribution of fat to total energy intake among the groups of different economic status. These results showed that household income is an important factor influencing the food and nutrient intake patterns of the Korean adult population. Although individuals at different age classes may respond differently to a change in economic status, developing and implementing nutrition policy and intervention programs for those nutritionally vulnerable groups should consider the economic status as an important factor to customize and differentiate the content of the Program. The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze factors which influence social and economic performance of social enterprises, and to examine the correlation of factors affecting social and economic performance. This study was conducted following the hypothesis that the organizational characteristics(organizational type, certification type, certification year, social service supply type, and external grants) of social enterprises affect social and economic performance, and that significant correlation exists between social and economic performance. This study collected the disclosure materials of 219 social enterprises certified between 2007- 2014 from the directory of the Korean Social Enterprise Promotion Agency. The study results are as follows: First, organizational characteristics affect social performance(i.e. jobs for the vulnerable classes). In addition, certification year and external grants had a positive effect on social performance. Second, the organizational characteristics affect the economic performance(i.e. sales), and certification year and external grants had a positive effect on economic performance. However, organizational type had a negative effect on the economic performance(i.e. sales). Third, analysis found a positive correlation of factors affecting social and economic performance. This study suggests the need to diversify support policies according to the number of authentication years in order to promote self-reliance and sustainability by maximizing the social and economic performance of social enterprises.

This paper describes a methodology for shape design using an optimal design system, whereas generally a three dimensional analysis is required for such designs. An automatic finite element mesh generation technique, which is based on fuzzy knowledge processing and computational geometry techniques, is incorporated into the system, together with a commercial FE analysis code and a commercial solid modeler. Also, with the aid of multilayer neural networks, the present system allows us to automatically obtain a design window, in which a number of satisfactory design solutions exist in a multi-dimensional design parameter space. The developed optimal design system is successfully applied to evaluate the structures that are used. This study used a stress gauge to measure the maximum stress affecting the parts of the side housing bracket which are most vulnerable to cracking. Thereafter, we used a tool to interpret the maximum stress value, while maintaining the same stress as that exerted on the spot. Furthermore, a stress analysis was performed with the typical shape maintained intact, SM490 used for the material and the minimizing weight safety coefficient set to 3, while keeping the maximum stress the same as or smaller than the allowable stress. In this paper, a side housing bracket with a comparably simple structure for 36 tons was optimized, however if the method developed in this study were applied to side housing brackets of different classes (tons), their quality would be greatly improved.
This study has been conducted to assess the effectiveness of the elderly employment programs through change of social capital by understanding how the elderly employment programs in the elderly employment policy of Korea has effected the change of social capital. The method of research was to design the research in the nonequivalent control groups design from the quasi-experimental design for the 500 elderly who participated and 250 who have not participated in the elderly employment programs through distributing structured questionnaire by classifying into before and after the project during 7 months from March 1, 2010 to September 30, 2010 to those above 65 living in Changwon. The social capital which is an important variable among the measurement index of the study has been set as trust, network, and social participation fields based on the aforementioned theoretic background. When the fact that there is a partial difference in the change of social capital of the elderly according to the participation in the elderly employment programs and the timing (before/after) is looked at in terms of change of social capital after controlling the general character of the elderly and the pre-score, there are differences per timing according to the participation in the elderly employment programs. Thus, the participation in the elderly employment programs had a significant difference in the change of social capital. It is possible to see that the trust, network, and social participation of the social capital all increased in the elderly with difficulties in their living status. It can be seen that the participation in the elderly employment programs brings forth increase of social capital for the elderly with difficulties in their living status. Among the social capitals, the elderly who participated in the elderly employment programs showed that the trust increased the most. Consequently, in order to increase the comprehensive social capital, the programs must be carried out focused on the vulnerable class in parallel to the elderly employment programs for the general elderly of other classes.

This study figured out the influential factors of region-based characteristic factors in our country upon asthmatic occurrence. Research subjects were 2,266,451 people who were confirmed the diagnosis of asthma (J45~J46) among patients in national health insurance for the year in 2010. The influence in each of factors upon the asthmatic occurrence was analyzed through hierarchical regression after comparing difference in asthmatic occurrence by basic local government. As a result of hierarchical regression, the whole asthmatic occurrence had significant difference in infants ratio, $SO_2$,Temperature, basin and dam area. The asthmatic occurrence had significant difference in subjective awareness of health level, $SO_2$, basin and dam area. A case of asthmatic occurrence had significant difference in infants ratio, temperature, $NO_2$ and coastal area. Diverse characteristic factors by region were indicated to have influence upon the asthmatic occurrence by causing or weakening asthma through mutually complex action. Accordingly, a region-based customized environmental health measure will need to be arranged that infants and elderly people, who are vulnerable classes, can be protected and prevented from harmful environment of asthma.

Objectives: To compare the self-rated health in chronic disease patients with depression, chronic disease patients, and depression patients, and to observe the related factors to the self-rated health of people age 65 and older. Methods: The subjects were 2,549 elderly people, over 65 years old in Busan Metropolitan City who participated in 2009 community health survey. Association between self-rated health and general characteristics, life style and disease status were observed. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Centre for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D). Analysis of complex sample was done with SAS (ver. 9.2), using ${\chi}^2$-test and multiple logistic regression. Results: Among total 2,549, there were 740 normal people (29.8%), 50 people with depression (1.8%), 1,495 people with other chronic diseases (58.2%), and 264 people with the comobidity of depression and other chronic diseases (10.1%). Good self-related health accounted for 20.3% for the whole, 33.4% for normal, 16.7% for chronic disease, 16.1% for depression, and 3.2% for chronic diseases with depression. Disease, gender, education, income, alcohol drinking, regular exercise and regular walking were independent factors associated with the good self-related health. Conclusions: It is suggested that when the chronic disease control program for the elderly is developed, depression care should be considered along with the program. This program should be given priority to the women and the vulnerable classes and should also be related to the regular walking.
Recently, due to severe rainfall by the global climate change, natural disasters such as landslide had also been increased rapidly all over the world. Therefore, it has been very necessary to assess vulnerability of landslide and prepare adaptation measures to future climate change. In this study, we employed sensitivity, exposure and adaptative capacity as criteria for assessing the vulnerability of landslide due to climate change. Spatial database for the criteria was constructed using GIS technology. And vulnerability maps on the entire Korea of past and future were made based on the database. As a result, highly vulnerable area for landslide was detected in most area of Gangwon-do, the east of Gyeonggi-do, and southeast of Jeollanam-do, and the southwest of Gyeongsangnam-do. The result of landslide vulnerability depends on time shows that degree of very low class and low class were decreased and degree of moderate, high, and very high were increase from past to the future. Especially, these three classes above low class were significantly increased in the result of far future.
This study analyzes the factors that determine the attitude toward the electronic wristband(smartband) to check the position of self-quarantine subjects due to COVID-19. Furthermore, I analyze the interaction of class and age among the factors that determine attitudes toward the electronic wristband. In this study, the attitude toward self-quarantine electronic wristband is analyzed as a binary logit model, focusing on class and age. As a result of the analysis, the middle class significantly agreed with the self-quarantine electronic wristband compared to the lower class, and the older the person, the more in favor. On the other hand, the interaction between the class and the age shows that the age weakens the positive effect on the attitude of the self-quarantine electronic wristband in the middle and upper middle classes. The implication of this study is that it is necessary to push for mandatory electronic wristband in areas with high proportion of high-aged people with positive attitude toward self-quarantine electronic wristband and in the same age group, the approval rate is low, so it is necessary to promote mandatory electronic wristband in areas where the vulnerable class is dense.
This study analyzes the effects of companion animals on humans based on folk tales of righteous dogs in Hongseong. By targeting the theses and Hongseong righteous dog tales for this purpose, analyses of Ethnography and FGI(Focus Group Interview) were used among Qualitative Research Methods. According to research analysis, the impact of companion animals on humans was analyzed as emotional, economic, and cultural and environmental effects. In the case of emotional impact, the effect of companion animals on social sentiment is analyzed to have a positive effect in various classes, ranging from children and adolescents to the elderly and the socially vulnerable. On the economic aspect, SWOT analysis was attempted in connection with the rapid expansion of the companion animals industry, as represented by the Petconomy market, and analysis was attempted by focusing on cultural campaigns and tales that appeared in various cultural and environmental influences. The results of these studies suggest that this study is one that adds depth to the fact that it is the first attempt to analyze the culture and technology of companion animals, that it triggers the contribution of community development by analyzing the symbiotic relationship between companion animals and humans through the specific region, and that pets will have an emotional positive impact on human life in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, when individualism will be maximized.

To this end, the factors necessary for the type of future talent in the post-COVID-19 era were identified by analyzing Big data. Based on the deducted factors composing the type of talent in the post-COVID-19 era, policy direction according to the emergence of the post-COVID-19 era were deducted through the interviews with the group of experts and delphi survey, and on the basis of this, this study sought for"a plan for the educational change in line with cultivation of people of talent in the post-COVID-19 era. The results of this study are as follows. First, through the big data analytics and analysis of the interviews, convergence, ICT utilization ability, creativity, self-regulated competency and leadership were found to be the factors necessary for the type of talent in the post-COVID-19 era. Second, it considered the innovation of digital education system and the support for vulnerable classes as the issue for cultivation of people of talent in the post-COVID-19 era. Third, the most important policy with regard to the educational direction for cultivation of people of talent in the post-COVID-19 era was cultivation of convergence talents. Convergence is a very important variable in the post-COVID-19 era since it creates new values by connecting things that are separated from each other. Hopefully, this study will build a basis for competency development, education and training in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era.
