Enzyme electrophoresis was used to estimate genetic diversity and population structure of maize, Zea mays L. (Graminales) in Korea. In nine populations, fourteen of the 24 loci (58.3 %) showed detectable polymorphism. Genetic diversity (0.205) was higher than average values for species with similar life history traits. Although our data are relatively small and the landraces not direct ancestors of cultivar, apparently the domestication process has eroded the levels of genetic variation of maize. The recent cultivars were found to have fewer alleles per locus (1.42 vs. 1.56), fewer alleles per polymorphic locus (2.27 vs. 2.33), lower percent polymorphic locus (33.3% vs. 41.7%), and lower diversity (0.159 vs. 0.185) than landraces. These genetic diversity parameters indicated that the cultivar populations were genetically depauperate relative to landlaces. The GST value of nine populations was 0.239. Nearly 76% of the total genetic diversity in Zea mays was apportioned within populations. The indirect estimate of gene new based on mean GST was moderate (Nm=0.80).
Information structure can be conveyed by prosodic structure (Poser 1984 for Japanese; Inkelas and Leben 1990 for Hausa; Cho 1990 for Korean; Hayes and Lahiri 1991 for Bengali; Selkirk and Shen 1990 for Shanghai Chinese). Different subfields of linguistics and different theoretical perspectives suggest many distinct types of information structure: topic vs. comment, focus vs. background. old vs. new information, etc. The purpose of this paper is to investigate phonetic realizations of focus and topic among these information structures in Korean. For this purpose, we conduct a phonetic experiment where we examine duration, pitch and dephrasing in focus and topic structures. We make four findings through this study. First, duration of 'nun' varies depending on the information structure of the following constituent. Second, the degree of accentual phrase-initial rising is larger in contrastive topic and focused phrases than in neutral phrases. Third, a contrastive topic phrase always constitutes an Intonation Phrase on its own. Fourth, dephrasing occurs variously depending on gender and the number of the syllables within a phrase.
A Variable Structure Model Reference Adaptive Controller (VS-MRAC) using state Variables is proposed for single input multi output systems. . The structure of the switching functions is designed based on stability requirements, and global exponential stability is proved. Transient behavior is analyzed using sliding mode control and shows perfect model following at a finite time. The effect of input disturbances on stability and transients is investigated and shows preference to the conventional MRAC schemes with integral adaptation law. Sliding surfaces are independent of system parameters and therefore VS-MRAC is insensitive to system parameter variations. Simulation is presented to clear the theoretical results.

Recently, The concept of strategic groups is recognized as a basic unit of understanding framework in strategic management research. Researchers have consistently approached the relationship between strategic groups and organizational variables(organization structure vs strategies, management process vs strategies, management systems vs strategies, environment vs strategies, strategies vs performance). However the relationship between strategic groups and human resources has been neglected in theortical approach and empirical approach. Therefore this study explores the relationship between strategic groups and human resources management.
Mook, a traditional gel food in Korea, has been made from mainly acorn, buckwheat, and mungbean starches (Mook Starches). Corn, rice, wheat starches (Non-Mook Starches) are not used due to their weak gelation power. In order to know the effects of properties of starch on gelation, some physicochemical properties, molecular structure, and starch lipid of these six starches were investigated and compared with gel hardness. Both amylose content and gel hardness of starches were in order of mungbean, acorn, buckwheat, wheat, corn, and rice and these two parameters showed a very good correlation (r=0.95). The amyloses of Mook Starches had larger molecular size (${\overline}D.P._{n}=1,080{\sim}1,580\;vs\;670{\sim}1,120$ for Mook Starches and Non-Mook Starches, respectively), more average number of chain ($2.9{\sim}5.4\;vs\;1.7{\sim}2.5$), and shorter average chain length ($290{\sim}390\;vs\;390{\sim}450$) than those of Non-Mook Starches. Also, Mook Starches had longer average chain length ($22.2{\sim}22.6\;vs\;18.9{\sim}21.3$) of amylopectin and less starch lipid content ($0.12{\sim}0.49\;vs\;0.68{\sim}1.26%$) than Non-Mook Starches. These properties had good correlations with gel hardness (r=0.76-0.84). Consequently, the gelation power of Mook Starches was thought to be derived from their high amylose content and other properties of starches.
The thesis tries to compare The Structure of World History with Anti-Oedipus in the textual context, and to re-compare in the educational context. I mean by the education an event which contrasts starkly with an essence. It adopts 5W1H, a general reporting form of an accident or event, as the distinctive features at twice comparisons. The purpose of the thesis is not evaluative but interpretive comparison. In the textual context, the thesis discusses, 1) as WHAT, the use of Marx from Kant vs. Nietzsche's point of view, 2) as WHO, the actual subjects of the exchanging human vs. the productive machine, 3) as WHEN/WHERE, the society of the modes of exchange vs. the modes of inscription, 4) as HOW, the revolutionay means of the simultaneous revolution of the world vs. the schizophrenic process, 5) as WHY, the ideal subjects of the associative human vs. the non-human of liberation of desire. In the educational context, the thesis discusses, 1) in the WHAT as educational way, autonomous morality vs. active power, 2) in the WHO as the affirmity of actual subjects, that of the ideal idea vs. that of real power, 3) in the WHEN/WHERE, as the in-between time-space of education, the incommensurable communicative situation of humans vs. the conflictive of machines, 4) in the HOW, as the educational method of achieving the ideal, the involuntary restoration of the already-had ideal vs. the now-have completion and break-through of the schizophrenic process, 5) in the WHY, as the aim of education, cosmopolitan vs. overman.

The hydrolyses of ten VS dyes were examined at 40$^{\circ}C$, 50$^{\circ}C$, and 60$^{\circ}C$ and the kinetic parameters were estimated. The values of free energy, enthalpy and entropy of hydrolysis and reaction with cellulose for VS dyes were calculated. The linear relationship exist between the enthalpy and entropy. The structure and entropy of VS dyes gave a effect on the dimerization for VS reactive dyes. The VS dyes have small value of entropy were formed dimer. It was confirmed that no dimer form for m-substituted VS dyes. There were similarities among various reactions including homo- and mixed dimerization.
Single crystals of misfit layered (LaS)xVS2(x 1.18) were grown using LaCl3(or I2) as a mineralizer (or transport agent) for the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Procession photographs of (LaS)xVS2(x 1.18) were analyzed as the stacking structure of two kinds of LaS-and VS2-subcell. The result shows that two sublattices have common periodicities along the a*-and c*-axes, respectively, but not along the b*-axis. Sublattice dimensions of LaS and VS2 layers along b-axis were 5.67$\AA$ and 3.42$\AA$, respectively. Their ratio was 1.657 which is very close to 5/3.
Many languages show reverse durational variation between preceding vowel and following voiced/voiceless (lax/tense) consonants. This study investigated the likely effects of phoneme type (tense vs. lax) on the timing structure (duration of syllable, word, phrase and sentence) of Korean. Three rates of speech (fast, normal, slow) applied to stimuli with the target word /a-Ca/ where /C/ is one of /p, p', $p^h$/. The type (tense/lax) of /C/ caused marked inverse durational variations in the two syllables /a/ and /Ca/ and highly different durational ratios between them. Words with /p', $p^h$/ were significantly longer than that with /p/, which contrasts with many other languages where such pairs of words have a similar duration. The differentials between words remained up to the phrase and sentence level, but in general the higher linguistic units did not statistically differ within each level. Thus, the phrase is suggested as a compensatory unit of phoneme type effects in Korean. Different rates did not affect the general tendency. Distribution of time variations (from normal to fast and slow) to each syllable (/a/ and /Ca/) was also observed.
One of the most important problems in cluster analysis is the selection of variables that truly define cluster structure, while eliminating noisy variables that mask such structure. Brusco and Cradit (2001) present VS-KM(variable-selection heuristic for K-means clustering) procedure for selecting true variables for K-means clustering based on adjusted Rand index. This procedure starts with the fixed number of clusters in K-means and adds variables sequentially based on an adjusted Rand index. This paper presents an updated procedure combining the VS-KM with the automated K-means procedure provided by Kim (2009). This automated variable selection procedure for K-means clustering calculates the cluster number and initial cluster center whenever new variable is added and adds a variable based on adjusted Rand index. Simulation result indicates that the proposed procedure is very effective at selecting true variables and at eliminating noisy variables. Implemented program using R can be obtained on the website "http://faculty.knou.ac.kr/sskim/nvarkm.r and vnvarkm.r".
