정지궤도복합위성 추진계 배관망 구조해석 (Stress Analysis of the GEO-KOMPSAT-2 Tubing System)

  • 본 논문에서는 정지궤도복합위성 추진계 배관망의 독자적인 구조해석을 실시하였고, AIRBUS의 구조해석결과와 비교분석을 통해 추진계 배관망의 구조적 건전성 및 해석방법의 신뢰성을 평가하였다. 추진계 배관망의 구조적 신뢰성 확보는 정지궤도복합위성 추진계의 매우 중요한 핵심요소이다. 따라서 CAE 프로그램을 통해 직접 추진계 배관망 모델링을 수행하였고, 발사환경에서 구조해석을 실시하여 응력을 도출하였다. 내압응력해석, 조립정렬해석, 정현파진동해석, 랜덤진동해석의 하중조건에 따라 Hoop stress, Axial stress, Bending stress, Torsion stress를 구하였고, 이를 모두 고려한 von Mises 응력 계산 후 안전여유 결과 값을 도출함으로써 추진계 배관망의 구조적 건전성을 판단하였다.

Fin type 임플랜트 고정체의 유한요소법적 분석 (FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF FIN-TYPE IMPLANT FIXTURES)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the stress pattern in different bone densities surrounding fin-type implant fixtures under the vertical and inclined loads ($30^{\circ}) of 200N. Von-Mises stress, the pricipal stress, and the displacement on the implant fixtures under the loads were calculated by using the finite element method. Four different types of bicon implant fixture were used for this study. The geometries of implant fixtures to develop the model were used by a sales brochure and profile project. Three-dimensional finite element model of the mandible was developed with 6.0 mm implant in diameter wurrounded by approximately 2.5 mm of bone. Bone densities were classified according to the elastic modulus of the tree. The finite element program MSC PATRAN (MSC, Software Corp., USA) were used for analysis of stress distribution. The value of the Von-Mises stress, the pricipal stress, and the displacement on the implant fixtures under the vertical and inclined loads were decreased when the diameter of implant fixture was increased, and increased when the elastic modulus was decreased. The stress on implant fixture under the vertical and inclined loads was distributed through the length of implant fixtures in D3 and D4. The distribution of stress was influenced by the direction of loads. In the wide diameter of implants, the stress was developed at outer surface of bone. In conclusion, this study suggest that stress developing on the peri-implant tissues might be influenced by the dimension of implant, elastic modulus of bone, and direction of loads.

Stresses in FGM pressure tubes under non-uniform temperature distribution

  • The effects of material nonhomogeneity and nonisothermal conditions on the stress response of pressurized tubes are assessed by virtue of a computational model. The modulus of elasticity, the Poisson's ratio, the yield strength, and the coefficient of thermal expansion, are assumed to vary nonlinearly in the tube. A logarithmic temperature distribution within the tube is proposed. Under these conditions, it is shown that the stress states and the magnitudes of response variables are affected significantly by both the material nonhomogeneity and the existence of the radial temperature gradient.

  • In this paper, we propose goodness of fit test statistics based on the estimated Kullback-Leibler information functions using the data from three step stress accelerated life test. This acceleration model is assumed to be a tampered random variable model. The power of the proposed test under various alternatives is compared with Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic, Cramer-von Mises statistic and Anderson-Darling statistic.

  • The strength evaluation of a wheel is becoming very important due to the high speed of railway system and the reduction of wheel weight. Therefore, in this study, the influence of thermal stress at tread breaking in Korean High Speed Train wheel was investigated using FEM. During FEM analysis, the mechanical load or wheel-rail contract load and braking load were considered. When 300% of the block force was applied, the maximum von Mises stress of 61.0 ㎫ was found at the outside plate around 400mm far away from the wheel center.

THE EFFECTS OF MESH STYLE ON THE FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS FOR ARTIFICIAL HIP JOINTS

  • In this paper, a good quality mesh generation for the finite element method is investigated for artificial hip joint simulations. In general, bad meshes with a large aspect ratio or mixed elements can give rise to excessively long computational running times and extremely high errors. Typically, hexahedral elements outperform tetrahedral elements during three-dimensional contact analysis using the finite element method. Therefore, it is essential to mesh biologic structures with hexahedral elements. Four meshing schemes for the finite element analysis of an artificial hip joint are presented and compared: (1) tetrahedral elements, (2) wedge and hexahedral elements, (3) open cubic box hexahedral elements, and (4) proposed hexahedral elements. The proposed meshing scheme is to partition a part before seeding so that we have a high quality three-dimensional mesh which consists of only hexahedral elements. The von Mises stress distributions were obtained and analyzed. We also performed mesh refinement convergence tests for all four cases.
