화상해석에 의한 윤활운동면의 마멸분 형태 분석

  • This paper was undertaken to analyze the morphology of wear debris generating from moving lubricated machine surfaces by image processing. The lubricating wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions using the wear test device was made in our laboritory and wear testing specimen of the pin on disk type wear rubbed in paraffine series base oil, by varying applied load, sliding distance. The four parameters(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) to describe the morphology have been developed and are outlined in the paper. A system using such techniques promises to obviate the need for subjective, human interpretation of particle morphology in machine condition monitoring, thus overcoming many of the difficulties with current methods and facilitating wider use of wear particle analysis in machine condition monitoring.

  • This paper was undertaken to do morphological analysis of wear debris for slipper-pad of hydrauric rotary acuator. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the wear test device and wear specimens of the pin on disk type was rubbed in paraffinic base oil by three kinds of lubricating materials. varying applied load, sliding distance. The four shape parameters(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) are used showed that the four shape parameters of wear debris depend on a kind of the lubricating condition. It was capable of presuming wear volume for slipper-pad of hydrauric rotary acuator on driving time.

  • The neural network was applied to identify wear debris generated from the lubricated machine moving surface. The wear test was carried out under different experimental conditions. In order to describe characteristics of debris of various shapes and sizes. The four parameter(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflec- tivity) of wear debris are used as inputs to the network and learned the friction condition of five values (material 3, applied load 1, sliding distance 1). It is shown that identification results depend on the ranges of these shape parameter learned. The three kinds of the wear debris had a different pattern characteristic and recognized the friction condition and materials very well by neural network.

  • This paper was undertaken to do shape analysis of wear debris on oiliness agent and extreme pressure agent. The lubricating wear test was performed under different experimental conditions using the wear test device was made in our laboratory and were- specimens of the pin on disk type was rubbed in paraffine series base oil by materials, varying applied load, sliding distance, oil additives such as stearine acid, DBDS, TCP. The four shape parameters (50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) on a kind of the additives are different on applied load and sliding distance and Its are affected by absorbed film and reaction film. DBDS and TCP have a role of extreme pressure agent but a role of absorbed film of stearic acid decrease in high load. The maximum wear volume on applied load be in existence in three kinds of the specimens because of reaction characteristics of the additives.

  • A disadvantage in the design of a hypotrochoidal gear pump as in a gerotor pump is a lack of parts that can be adjusted to compensate for wear in the rotor set, and as a consequence, it causes a sharp reduction of volumetric efficiency. In this paper, an attempt has been made to reduce the wear rate between the rotors of a hypotrochoidal gear pump. Using the knowledge of shape design on the rotors, the contact stresses without hydrodynamic effect between the rotors' teeth are evaluated through the calculation of the Hertzian contact stress. Based on the above result and the sliding velocity between the rotors, a genetic algorithm (GA) is used as an optimization technique for minimizing the wear rate proportional factor (WRPF). The result shows that the wear rate or the WRPF can be reduced considerably, e.g. approximately 12.8% in this paper, throughout the optimization using GA.

  • The Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) is exclusivity used as the articulation component with metal or ceramic materials in artificial joint prosthesis because of its good mechanical properties. In the long term however, wear of UHMWPE causes complex problems and hence causes loosening of He prosthesis. In this study, we tried to enhance the wear property of UHMWPE by attaching a hydrophilic graft on the UHMWPE surface and by improving surface hardness without deteriorating the mechanical properties of UHMWPE. This was achieved by ion implantation and by ${\gamma}$-irradiation to the surface in acrylic acid solution and by photo-polymerization in divinylbenzen (DVB), diallysophthalate (DAIP) solution. The wear test was performed by a wear testing machine of ball-on-disk type devised by the authors. The UHMWPE with hydrophlic surface and increased surface hardness developed by above treatments showed less volumetric wear.

  • This wear debris can be harvested from the lubricants of operating machinery and its morphology is directly related to the damage to the interacting surface from which the particles originated. The morphological identification of wear debris can therefore provide very early detection of a fault and can also often facilitate a diagnosis. The purpose of this study is to attempt the developement of intelligent system for moving condition diagnosis of the machine driving system. A Study on Wear Property of Oil Hydraulic Piston Pump Material (유압 피스톤 펌프 소재의 마모 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Oil hydraulic piston pumps are being extensively used in the world, because of simple design, light weight and effective cost etc. An oil hydraulic pump is likely to have serious problems of high leakage, friction and low energy efficiency according to large time use. In the oil hydraulic piston pumps the clearance between the valve block and piston plays an important role for volumetric and overall efficiency. In this paper, the wear property of the SACM645 material used the hydraulic piston pump has been work out by experimentation with variable heat treatment. To investigate the effect according to the piston surface condition, seven different types specimen were prepared. From the wear test results, induction hardening and nitration were definitely superior to the others. On the whole, nitration was estimated for high strength material to wear resistance.

  • A lubricated state of an automobile transmission can not be inspected directly with eyes. Thus, it needs to develop a more general method. Wear debris can be collected from the lubricants of operating transmission of an automobile and its morphology is directly related to the fiction condition of the interacting materials from which the wear particles originated in lubricated transmission. In this paper, to identify the friction condition for transmission gear by neural network, the wear test of ball-on-disk type and the analysis of friction state were carried out for carburized SCM420 and nitrocarburized NT100 under different experimental conditions. The four shape parameters($50\%$ volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) of wear debris were calculated by the image processing system. They were used as input values to identify the moving condition of transmission gear by the neural network.

In an oil hydraulic piston pump, the clearance between the valve block and piston plays an important role for volumetric and overall efficiency. In this study, the wear property of the SACM645 material with DLC coating used for a hydraulic piston pump was determined by experimentation with variable heat treatment. To investigate the effect according to the piston surface condition, five different types of specimens were prepared. The maximum tensile strengths of the QT and QT Nitration specimens had similar values of about 800 MPa, but the strains indicated a big difference. In a wear test, the wear characteristic of the DLC coating specimen was shown to be excellent. The QT, QT + IH, QT + Nitration, and matirx specimen showed similar wear characteristics. In the case of a dry condition without oil, the DLC coating specimen had good wear resistance, with no wear shown.
