A back-electromotive force (back-EMF) estimator for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) uses the three-phase voltage references of a current controller to estimate rotor position. However, owing to voltage drops caused by the nonlinear characteristics of switches and passive components, the actual voltage in the motor and the three-phase voltage reference may not match. This study proposes a sensorless control method using a sine-wave output filter applied between the motor drive system and PMSM. The precise voltage in the motor can be measured with the sine-wave output filter and applied to the input of the estimator. Moreover, given that the voltage in the motor can be measured precisely at extremely low speeds, the stable operation range of the back-EMF estimator can be secured. Experimental results show that the proposed sensorless control method has stable operation at extremely low speeds compared with conventional sensorless control.

This paper presents a flux estimator for the sensorless vector control of induction motors. The proposed method utilize the combination of the voltage model based on stator equivalent model and the current model based on rotor equivalent model, which enables stable estimation of rotor flux in high speed region and in low speed region. The dynamic performance of proposed method is verified through the experiment. The experimental results show that motors ran easily start even under 150[%] load condition and operate continuously below 0.5[Hz].
A link voltage adjustment converter employing load power estimator for notebook computer adaptor is proposed. It is consisted of the boost converter as a power factor correction stage and the LLC resonant converter as a DC/DC conversion stage with a newly introduced link voltage adjustment method employing load power estimator, which helps to reduce the transformer size and peak of output voltage ripple, maintaining high efficiency over all the load condition. Experimental results with 85W converter are given to verify the validity of the proposed circuit.

This paper proposes a new compensation algorithm for stator resistance that is crucial for improving the direct vector control performance of an induction motor. This algorithm is based on the flux estimator that is derived from the stator voltage equation. Since a flux estimator is dependent on the stator resistance, a flux error originates from the variation of the stator resistance. This parameter mismatch in the estimator thereafter affects the flux and torque response. Accordingly, a new compensator has been designed to offset this degradation in the responses. The proposed compensator is very simple to implement and does not require any modifications to the motor model or any special interruptions of the controller. The value of the stator resistance is attained in real time through measuring the terminal voltage and current. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme has been confirmed through both simulation and experimentation.

This paper proposes an Intelligent Speed Estimator in order to realize the speed-sensorless vector control of an induction motor. Intelligent Speed Estimator used Model Reference Adaptive System which has Fuzzy-Neural adaptive mechanism as Speed Estimation method. The Intelligent Speed Estimator estimates the speed of an induction motor with a rotor flux of a reference model and adjustable model in MRAS. The Intelligent Speed Estimator reduces the error of the rotor flux between the voltage flux model and the current flux model using the error and the change of error as input of the Estimator. The computer simulation is executed to verify the propriety and the effectiveness of the proposed speed estimator.
In order to achieve the high quality output voltage of single-phase voltage source inverters, in this paper an Adaptive Complementary Sliding Mode Control (ACSMC) is proposed. Firstly, the dynamics model of the single-phase inverter with lumped uncertainty including parameter variations and external disturbances is derived. Then, the conventional Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and Complementary Sliding Mode Control (CSMC) are introduced separately. However, when system parameters vary or external disturbance occurs, the controlling performance such as tracking error, response speed et al. always could not satisfy the requirements based on the SMC and CSMC methods. Consequently, an ACSMC is developed. The ACSMC is composed of a CSMC term, a compensating control term and a filter parameters estimator. The compensating control term is applied to compensate for the system uncertainties, the filter parameters estimator is used for on-line LC parameter estimation by the proposed adaptive law. The adaptive law is derived using the Lyapunov theorem to guarantee the closed-loop stability. In order to decrease the control system cost, an inductor current estimator is developed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed controller is validated through Matlab/Simulink and experiments on a prototype single-phase inverter test bed with a TMS320LF28335 DSP. The simulation and experimental results show that compared to the conventional SMC and CSMC, the proposed ACSMC control strategy achieves more excellent performance such as fast transient response, small steady-state error, and low total harmonic distortion no matter under load step change, nonlinear load with inductor parameter variation or external disturbance.

In this abstract a novel control scheme of voltage-source PWM rectifiers using only dc-side sensors is proposed. The phase currents are reconstructed from switching states of the rectifier and the dc output current. For effective current control the currents are estimated by a predictive state observer. Also both the phase angle and the magnitude of th source voltage are estimated by phase estimator and magnitude estimator respectively. The validity of the proposed ac sensorless technique is verified by experimental results.
In this paper, a neural network estimator which estimates the output of the wide range oxygen sensor is proposed, The neural network estimator is constructed to give the output of the wide range oxygen sensor from rpm, fuel injection time, throttle position, and output voltage of the exhaust gas oxygen sensor. And, using this estimator, PI controller for air-fuel ratio control is designed. Experiment results show that the proposed method gives good results for SONATA engine under light load and constant rpms.

The rotor position of a PM synchronous motor is commonly estimated from the mathematical model for the sensorless control without rotor position sensors. For the magnet flux-based rotor position estimator in the stationary reference frame, the magnet flux estimator for estimating rotor position and speed includes the integrator. The integrator in the magnet flux estimator may accumulate the offset of the current sensors and the voltage drift. This continuous accumulation of the offset may cause the drift and overflow in the integrator, such that the estimated rotor position and speed may fail to track the real rotor position and speed. In this paper, the magnet flux estimator without integrator is proposed to avoid overflow in the integrator. The proposed rotor position and speed estimator based on magnet flux estimator are verified through simulation and experiment.
