절전형 전자식 안전기용 LLCC형 공진형 인버터의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of LLCC Type Resonant Inverter for Power Saving Type of Electronic Ballast)

  • At present, high frequency electronic ballast are widely used to drive the fluorescent lamp at high frequency for improving light quality. The electronic ballast mainly consist of an inverter stage with a load resonant circuit. This paper derives a lamp model consist of a voltage equation and a current equation. The proposed model is useful for an engineer to determine circuits and to analyze the performance of electronic ballast with high frequency operation. Simulation with PSPICE and experimentator and the high power factor of the proposed topology.

Sliding Mode Current Controller Design for Power LEDs

  • High-brightness LED control is required for stable operation, thus the driver and control system must be designed to deliver a constant current to optimize reliability and ensure consistent luminous flux. In this paper, the sliding mode current controller is designed to adjust the illumination density of power LEDs. The controller design model of power LEDs, including its driving circuit, is proposed to realize the dimming control of power LEDs. A buck converter is introduced to drive the power LEDs and reduce the input voltage to a lower level. The sliding mode software controller is implemented to adjust the dimming of power LEDs. The proposed strategy for driving power LEDs is investigated and comparatively studied by experiments.

모바일용 White-LED Driver IC에 관한 연구 (A Study of White-LED Driver IC for Mobile Applications)

  • In this study, we proposed WLED(White-Light Emitting Diode) driver IC for mobile applications. This IC drove WLED for mobile applications with low input voltage and high efficiency by using boost converter. The device was designed by using boost converter applied current-mode control algorithm and provided PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) & analog dimming. Designed IC consisted of bias block, drive block, control block, protection block. We confirmed this device worked well through a application PCB (Printed Circuit Board) test.

  • A CRU (Customer Remote Unit) for KODAS(Korea Distribution Automatic System) is presented in the paper. This equipment works as a terminal unit for the Load Control and the AMR(Automatic Meter Reading). It is composed of control, drive, input, display, and communication parts. A CRU calculates and memorizes the active power, time-of-use, and demand by the pulse from watthour meter for AMR. It also transfers the data to Center Control System. It can measure current, voltage, and power factor by adding the simple circuit. For load control, It receives the necessary informations such as the load control periods, modes, and time intervals. It controls the load until the stopping commad comes. The system reliability has been proved using a prototype.

  • 현재의 고출력 LED (Light Emitting Diode)는 긴 수명시간, 적은 유지보수 비용, 그리고 고효율의 특징으로 차세대 조명 소자로 각광받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Two-stage LED 구동 회로에서 온도 변화에 따른 정전류 제어가 가능한 LED 구동 드라이브의 효율을 개선하기 위해 입력 전압을 기본 전압으로 하고 LED 출력전류를 통한 전압 변동분 만을 전력변환하여 보상 할 수 있는 LED 구동 드라이브 회로를 연구 하였다. 제안된 비절연 전압 변동분 보상회로는 기존 DC/DC 컨버터를 이용한 LED 구동 드라이브에 비해 효율이 개선 되었음을 실험을 통해 알 수 있었다.

반송용 SLIM의 추력제에에 의한 운전특성 (A Operating by the Direct Thrust Control of SLIM in Conveyor System)

  • In this paper, the thrust control of PWM Inverter-Fed SLIM(Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is achieved with Space Vector control and PI control. The trembling of air gap length which is occurred between the primary winding core and the secondary structure of the SLIM must be minimized in order to get quick response characteristics. First, the equivalent circuits and voltage equations of SLIM are shown on th suitable d-q axis which analyze characteristics of the thrust and the normal force. Also, modeling and analysis of the equivalent circuits transferred d-q axis are able to make robust transient torque from the current regulation in the equivalent circuit. These results exemplified the direct drive of SLIM with the reference speed and torque were verified by experiments.

  • In the paper, a four-phase 16/12 structure Switched Reluctance motor drive is presented. The construction of the stator and the rotor in the motor, the scheme of the rotor position detector and the main circuit of the power converter are described. The comparison of the four-phase 16/12 motor and the four-phase 8/6 motor and the comparison of the four-phase 16/12 motor and the three-phase 12/8 motor are made. In the controller, the PWM control variable-speed control, the commutation control, the four quadrants control, the overvoltage protection, the over current protection and the under voltage protection could be achieved. Tested results of the developed prototype are made.

  • Electrical equipment for railway is always experiencing wear and degradation by mechanical, electrical and environmental stress in service and the fault or the accident of high voltage main circuit directly causes operation interruption. Particularly propulsion drive of high speed switching inverter takes the form of specific degradation mechanism such as fast rising transient surge, reflective overvoltage and harmonic stress, and it is known that it threatens the long life and the reliability of electrical equipment. In this paper, statistics of fault and accident on main electrical equipment for railway are presented and also insulation degradation mechanism, which governs end life of electrical device, is analyzed. Finally the method of fault respondence and reliability improvement on the main electrical equipments will be reviewed in order to prevent operation interruption.

  • This paper proposes a detection method for mechanically stuck control rod drive mechanisms (CRDMs) in the nuclear reactor. From an electrical viewpoint, a coil of an electro-mechanical CRDM is modelled as an R-L circuit with time-varying inductance. The inductance of the coil is estimated from the measured voltage and current by using the least square method. Numerical experiments are carried out to illustrate the proposed method.

  • This paper describes a output power control of magnetron for microwave oven. Magnetron is used extensively in household microwave oven and industrial microwave heating devices it is operated by 3000[V]~5000[V] dc high voltage. Power supply for driving magnetron is consisted of a bridge rectifier. HB(half bridge) inverter, full wave rectifier and gate drive circuit. In proposed system. we confirm that line input power can be controlled extensively and linearly to 24.56[%] by change of duty ratio of inverter through a experiment.
