In order to actively apply horticultural therapy to vocational education base schools, this study applied the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism to improve the vocational skills of high school students with intellectual disabilities. The horticultural therapy program was carried out in total 12 sessions with three groups composed of 20 students each: 20 in the control group, 20 in the experimental group with a normal horticultural program, and 20 in the experimental group with a horticultural therapy program which applied the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. The results were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 using the Interpersonal Negotiation Strategies evaluation tool. The study found that in terms of interpersonal relationship, there was no significant difference between the pre and post tests within each group. However, in the post tests among the three groups, there was no significant difference between control group and experimental group with normal horticultural program (p=.82), but there was a significant difference between the control group and experimental group with the horticultural therapy program applying the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism (p=.03). This proved that the horticultural therapy program applying the learning theories based on behaviorism, cognitivism is effective for improving interpersonal relationship. Ultimately the program is expected to be continuously, and systematically improved and applied as a learning method contributing to developing the basic vocational skills of persons with intellectual disabilities.
The purpose of this study was to develop an effective horticultural activity program for the vocational rehabilitation of people with mental disabilities. The subjects of this study were seven persons with mental disabilities in the vocational rehabilitation team of a public health center located in G city, Gyeongsangbuk-do. A total of 10 horticultural programs were held from October 10 to December 11, 2018. Five programs were selected among those that were easy for the persons with mental illness to handle and their preference was high. In each session, the same task was repeated 10 times and finally changes in hand functions and working speed were measured. As a result, the assembly task of the Purdue Pegboard test was 23.6 (SD = 10.5) before the program, 26.6 (SD = 11.5) after planting, 27.7 (SD = 12.2) after wrapping pots, and 28.0 (SD = 13.9) after making mini flower baskets, 26.9 (SD = 12.0) after wrapping a single flower, and 29.1 (SD = 11.9) after making corsages. There was a significant difference between the five programs (p = .016). As a result of measuring the time taken to produce the same 10 products, the average planting time was 9.9 (SD = 4.0) minutes in the first class and 6.0 (SD = 2.3) minutes in the second class (p = .018), and making mini flower baskets was reduced from 35.2 (SD = 10.1) minutes to 21.0 (SD = 7.7) minutes (p = .018), wrapping a single flower from 23.3 (SD = 7.9) minutes to 16.2 (SD = 7.3) minutes (p = .043), and making corsages from 53.6 (SD = 15.9) to 40.8 (SD = 16.8) minutes (p = .043). The working time was significantly shortened in the second class compared to the first class. The class for wrapping pots was shortened from 52.7 (SD = 11.7) to 49.6 (SD = 17.8) minutes, but there was no significant difference (p = .398).
This study aimed to investigate structural relationships of social support between job satisfactions and educare teacher's vocational calling. This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 270 educare teachers in Chungcheong area (Daejeon and Chungnam). The survey was conducted from July 1, 2017 to August 14, 2017. And it used 257 responses(95.1%) for analysis data except 14 responses due to their unfaithful or unreliable replies. Research results of analysis were as below. First, direct effect of vocational calling on social support was statistically significant. Second, it showed that both vocational calling and social support had positive effect. Third, it was found that vocational calling had significant influence on job satisfaction through social support. In conclusion, it was known that job satisfaction became higher if vocational calling of educare teachers received social support. It is required to systematically establish social and psychological support system raising vocational calling of educare teachers.
This study was conducted to investigate the job-performance of manual wheelchair post-management and to find out the relationship between job-performance and vocational ability of people with developmental disabilities. In this study, situational evaluation and vocational evaluation were conducted for 9 subjects participated in the vocational training program about manual wheelchair post-management. The data was analyzed by non-parametric statistical processing. As a result, the job-performance was an average of 80.87%. The job-performance had a positive correlations with visual closure, kinesthetic integration, and basic concepts(p<.05). The relationship between job-performance and vocational abilities can be used as basic data for vocational training program and job assignment. It is expected to be useful of spreading the post-management job for assistive technology devices in the local community activated through the convergence of assistive technology and vocational rehabilitation.

In this study, a digital textbook was developed for effective career and vocational education of students with disabilities. The contents of developed digital textbook consisted of 'lesson 15: Sale(1)' of middle school career and vocational education of basic curriculum. It progresses six periods and each topic activities are composed of open learning, learning activity 1, learning activity 2, and organized learning in order. NamoPubTreeEditor Program was used to develop the text book in the study, digital textbooks were designed to be compatible with various devices including smartphone of android operating system, Tablet PC, the iOS system, iphone, ipad, etc. In addition, it was designed to offer a variety of learning materials such as sale multimedia materials, glossary, evaluation questions, and linked data related to sale, supported self-motivated learning. allowed students to evaluate their study for the learning of students with disabilities.
This study is to explore experience on the inter-organizational linkages for vocational rehabilitation of people with psychiatric disabilities and to find out predictors affecting the linkages. This study used triangulation a way as to combine the advantages of both the qualitative and the quantitative approach. The qualitative approach is based on grounded theory by Strauss & Cobin. The quantitative research used the samples of 122 organizations, and was analyzed by multiple regression & logistic regression. The results are as follows. First, as results of in-depth interview, interviewees perceived linkage experience as 'turning the eyes on the other organization in community', namely 'the pursue of collaboration'. This concept is classified four types: initiative, cooperative, authoritative and passive type. Second, according to Tobin(1986)'s five phase of the closeness of inter-organizational linkages, our linkages were found to be in third phase, "coordination". Finally, predictors of the attempt of having linkages & linkage strengthening were analyzed by logistic regression & multiple regression. 'The experience of professional training on people with psychiatric disabilities' and 'the resource dependency' have statistically significant relation with the attempt to have linkages. 'The length of current service', 'the experience of professional training on people with psychiatric disabilities', and 'recognition about other organizational activities' are significantly related to strengthening linkage. Based on the results of this study, alternatives for promoting inter-organization linkages for vocational rehabilitation of people with psychiatric disabilities were proposed.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the employment policy for persons with disabilities on their employment rates. The subjects were 10 OECD counties of which policies are based on quotas or the prohibition of discrimination. The time-series data for the analysis were collected for 12 years from 2000 to 2011. A Panel-Corrected Standard Error(PCSE) analysis was conducted for the time-series cross-sectional data of this study. As a result, unemployment rates, proportions of persons with disabilities, and public expenditures on disability and sickness benefits(in % GDP) were statistically significant among control variables, while the coverages of discrimination prohibition and the types of delivery systems of vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities among the employment policy variables. The wider the coverages of discrimination prohibition are, the higher the employment rates of the disabled are. In addition, the employment rates of the disabled are higher in countries with specialized delivery systems for vocational rehabilitation than in countries with general delivery systems for vocational rehabilitation.
This study evaluated the community-based rehabilitation services provided by the Wonju Public Health Center from Jan. 2000 to Dec. 2002. Ninety-four persons with disabilities dwelling in the community participated and the surveys were completed in an interview during home visits. The respondents' demographic, socio-economic, and medical characteristics, rehabilitation service received, willingness to receive home-visit rehabilitation services, and satisfaction with the rehabilitation services were analyzed by frequency and percentage. A Likert scoring system consisting of five agreement-disagreement categories was applied to each item, consisting of Very Satisfied, Satisfied, So-So, Poorly Satisfied, and Very Poorly Satisfied. The major findings were as follows: 1) The rehabilitation services used included medical rehabilitation (26.9%), followed by social assistance (23.5%), diagnosis by a physician at home (17.3%), medical examination (12.3%), housekeeping services (6.2%), and vocational and educational rehabilitation (3.5%). 2) Of the medical services, the respondents desired physical therapy at home and free rental of rehabilitation equipment, such as wheelchairs, canes, walkers, the most, followed by home visit occupational therapy, nursing services, and oriental medicine service in descending order. 3) Some of the respondents expressed so-so satisfaction (50.0%) or dissatisfaction (16.9%) with the rehabilitation services provided by the Wonju Public Health Center. These findings should prove useful when planning or extending community-based rehabilitation programs for the homebound disabled in the community.
The purpose of this study is to analyze that change of social environment, disability perspective and rehabilitation paradigm of Korea rehabilitation for the past 60 years and to propose future direction for rehabilitation of Korea. The major results of this study are summarized as follow : First of all, there is a disparity of 30 years between persons with disabilities and persons without disabilities for the perspective of social inclusion in Korea. Second, social environment is one of the most important effective variable on rehabilitation for persons with disabilities in Korea, it has been rapidly changed from agrarian society, going through industrial society and intellectual society, to convergence society. Third, disability perspective has been changing to universalist model with change of the social environment and also paradigm of the rehabilitation has been changing from the target of treat, education and training to the member of society that can empower and support persons with disabilities. Forth, rehabilitation policies have been changing from the welfare policies to the empowerment policies in company with change of paradigm. On the basis of the results, the following suggestions can be made : First, universalist model have to be permeated in the society at large. Second, rehabilitation paradigm should change to emphasize the holistic and universalist perspective. Third, the main purpose of rehabilitation policies are equality, mean and target of the policies are to emphasize universal services.

It is necessary for inmates released from prison to recover their career capital in order to function normally in society. Failure to adapt to the society may not only make them unhappy but could also aggravate social safety nets. Therefore, it is critical to examine the recovery of career capital. For this study, we conducted in-depth interviews of 10 rehabilitation recipients who were supported by Korea Rehabilitation Agency. For qualitative analysis, several career topics were analyzed, such as obstacles in recovering career capital, efforts in overcoming these obstacles, what is helpful for them to overcome the obstacles and what is required for them to adapt to the career life and others. Analysis results found that the rehabilitation beneficiaries suffered loses to their career capital due to their incarceration, suffered from the loss of pride and became despondent in the process of recovery of career capital due to the negative social perception toward their social self, fear of social stigma and devaluation of themselves. In addition, the fear of possible negative evaluation was a critical factor in making their social activities more challenging. Conversely, it was found that social support in the recovery process of career capital has a positive effect. In particular, emotional support from spouses, employers, family members and friends are the most positive factors. Concerning efforts at adapting to careers, it was found that an active, leading and positive attitude toward the career were critical, showing that positive evaluation and recognition in family and social relations and the experience of success in the career were positive elements in enhancing a sense of pride. In summary, it was found that in the recovery process of career capital, dysfunctional beliefs had a negative effect, while social support had a positive effect, on the recovery of career capital.
