  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the necessity and activation plan of trial work to increase the re-employment of injured industrial workers. This study applied an internet and paper questionnaire method to 1,058 employers listed in the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Services. The employers were asked about their experiences with trial work and their preferences for supports. From September 2018, the survey was conducted for 6 weeks and a total of 201 questionnaires were analyzed. Descriptive analysis and t-tests were applied. The results of the study showed that the trial work system satisfied the employers who participated in it. In order for this system to operate smoothly for injured workers, it is necessary to simplify the system's procedures, increase the amount of the trial work subsidy, and improve the amount of support after the workers convert to full time employment. In order for employers to use the new system, $750 per month will be provided for 8 months when hiring one injured worker. Eighty percent of employers stated that they would hire injured workers if the subsidy and application period are accepted. Future study and suggestions for applying the trial work system for injured industrial workers are also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the statistical usefulness of using atypical text data collected from media that are easy to collect to overcoming limits of the existing data related to economic activities of disabled people. In addition, by performing semantic network analysis, major issues by period that could not be grasped by statistical analysis were also identified. As a result, semantic network analysis revealed that the initiative of the public sector, such as the central and local government bodies, was strongly shown. On the other hand, in the private purchase sector, it was also possible to confirm the consumption revitalization trend and changes in production activities in the recent issue of Covid-19. While the term "priority purchase" had a statistically significant relation with the other two terms "vocational rehabilitation" and "employment for the disabled". For the regression results, while the term "priority purchase" had a statistically significant association with the other two terms "vocational rehabilitation" and "employment for the disabled". Further, some statistical analyses reveal that keyword data taken from media channels can serve as an alternative indicator. • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of emotion and EEG of people with mental illness by vocational rehabilitation program based on horticultural therapy. The subjects of the study were three people with mental illness who were training in a vocational rehabilitation team at a health center located in G city, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The result of this study, positive affect increased and negative affect decreased. The result of EEG inspection was increased 17.27% on pre test to 21.39% on post test for Theta wave and 39.66% on pre test to 49.02% on post test for Alpha wave in case of subject A. Also Beta wave was decreased 27.53% on pre test to 17.54% on post test. Subject B increased Alpha wave 29.70% on pre to 31.82% on post. Subject C increased Alpha wave 26.30% on pre to 49.42% on post. Beta wave decreased 29.85% on pre to 16.13% on post. Theta wave, when creatively idea or thought occurs, alpha wave when safety and focusing was increased and beta wave when stress, tension and anxiety was decreased. As a result of profits analysis, subject A spent cost a total of 101,700 won for material and achieve profits of 203,400 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 101,700 won of net revenue. Subject B spent cost a total of 81,000 won for material and achieve profits of 162,000 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 81,000 won of net revenue. Subject C spent cost a total of 56,200 won for material and achieve profits of 112,400 won by setting a sales price. Therefore, gain the 56,200 won of net revenue.

  • Currently, polymer matrix nanocomposites (PMCs) are a prominent area of research due to their outstanding mechanical, thermal, and durability properties. The increase in recent studies justifies the possibility of using PMCs in structural retrofitting and reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and serving as new structural material. Using nanotechnology, nanocomposite panels in flooring combine concrete and steel, providing a very high level of performance. In sports flooring, high-performance concrete has become a challenge for reducing sports injuries and refinement in rehabilitation. As a composite material, this type of resistant concrete is one of the most durable and complex multi-phase materials. This article uses polyvinyl alcohol polymer (PVC) and multi-walled carbon nanotubes as concrete matrix fillers. Solution methods have been used for dispersing PVC and carbon nanotubes in concrete. The water-cement ratio, carbon nanotube weight ratio, and heat treatment parameters influenced the concrete nanocomposite's tensile and compressive strength. The dispersion of carbon nanotubes in cement paste and the observation of nano-microcracks in concrete was evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM).

  • This study examined the factors associated with exit from and reentry into the rehabilitation center among homeless persons with mental illness. Shelter use of a total of 203 study population was monitored between 2004 and 2008. Cox's proportional hazard model was employed to analyze the factors influencing the rate of the first exit from and the first reentry into the rehabilitation center. Also, competing risk analysis was conducted to examine the factors differently associated with the type of the first exit from the rehabilitation center: a positive exit and a negative exit. This study found that homeless persons with mental illness were less likely to experience the negative exit while their resident registration status not being abolished on the first entry into the rehabilitation center, having more frequent hospitalizations during the rehabilitation center stay, being connected to the family members, having more participations into the basic rehabilitation, mental rehabilitation, and vocational rehabilitation programs during the rehabilitation center stay. Age, the number of hospitalization and of the participations into the mental rehabilitation programs during the rehabilitation center stay were associated with the rate of the first reentry into the rehabilitation center.
