  • The purpose of this research was to develop healing food dishes for the vitalization of forest healing tourism in agricultural areas by enhancing satisfaction of food experiences by visitors to Mount Chungnyeong, Jangseong. Results from site visitation by three professors from food-related departments, association opinions, Jangseong-gun policies, and research materials relating to healing foods were applied for the preparatory experimental cooking, and the final dishes were selected through a food demonstration event. As a result of observation during the site visitation, the main dishes of the subject restaurant appeared to be limited to Samchae Bibimbap, Samchae Ddeokgabi, and Korean set menu items, revealing a limited selection for tourists and referencing a failure to induce customer attraction and long-term stay. Development of a menu conforming to the image of forest healing at Mount Chungnyeong is desperately needed. As a result of applying the results of the surveys from visitors to Mount Chungnyeong, the types of dishes preferred appeared to be Korean table d'hote and Bibimbap, and pork was preferred as the $entr{\acute{e}}e$. The characteristics of preferred dishes appeared to be based on tradition and regionality. Thus, Forest Healing Savory Dish, Yellow Health Dish, and Samchae Kalguksu applying the policy direction of the Yellow City, Jangseong-gun and the image of Jangseong-gun based on Confucianism were developed. Tourists may further enhance the effectiveness of forest healing through foods based on dishes by adding traditional taste using seasonal food ingredients and local specialties, which can contribute to the vitalization of forest healing tourism.

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the importance and performance degrees between Selection Attributes of American beef by IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) for university students in Seoul and Gyeonggi Area. A total of 590 questionnaires were distributed, and 481 questionnaires were used in the study (81.5% of response rate). According to the IPA results of 12 selection attributes for American beef, the selection attributes with relatively low satisfaction but high importance(II quadrant) were 'country of origin', 'safety', 'cleanliness and hygiene'. The factor to be improved relatively through to the results of IPA was consumer confidence factor ('country of origin', 'safety', 'cleanliness and hygiene') and it was confirmed that university students had a low satisfaction in large degrees compared to the significance of American beef. Therefore, recovery of consumer confidence of American beef is urgent as well as the need to increase satisfaction of consumers. From now on, based on these results, it is considered that many efforts are necessary to increase the trust of consumers by planting awareness that American beef is safe by setting institutional conditions to vitalize purchase of American beef. • The purpose of this study is to investigate industry-wise employment growth factors in rural areas. Regional economic vitalization is sensitive to internal and external interaction changes among various industrial and occupational sectors. Thus, rural regional economic vitalization requires a comprehensive approach in analyzing industry-dependent employment structures and growth factors in rural areas. However, research conducted thus far has mostly focused on agriculture and farmers. Considering the evidence that rural communities continue to be stagnant and 80% of the rural population is engaged in nonagricultural activities, it becomes necessary to review industry-specific employment change factors in rural areas. This study targeted 5 counties in Chungnam. The results revealed that agriculture, forestry, and fisheries occupied the foremost positions with regard to population employed and regional GRDP share. The influence of national growth on employment and business variation effects was as high as 98.1% and 78.6%, respectively, thus demonstrating the high likelihood of rural economy to be influenced by external factors. Growth in the public sector appeared to support employment structure. Moreover, wholesale and retail businesses, constituting 14.4% of employment in rural areas, showed a strong trend toward degeneration, to the extent that difficulties have been forecasted for the supply of goods and services essential for basic livelihood of the rural residents. The implications based on the above observations need to be considered for policy-making to ensure that industrial structure is modified on the basis of internal demand of the region, and support for small businesses is integrated in rural area development projects.

  • In digital age export expansion is the key fact of promoting Korea's economic growth. The policy that encourages exportation is being more emphasized to develop of the nation's economy. From the 90's, regionalism has been widespread throughout the world with globalization and internationalization led by WTO and FTA. The world is now becoming one economic bloc. It is necessary to understand how enterprises contribute to the exportation to establish and manage the policy that encourage and support the exportation. This study estimates SME's level of contribution on gross exports and understands the problem, while looking for better statistical alternatives and finding SME's export energizing policies. It is estimated that domestic SMEs contribute about 40-50% of gross exports. SME bureau and national statistical office should select optimal size of population of each industry, design and extract sample to conduct the export related survey extensively. SMEs should analyze the product and skills of the industry that is dominated by major companies to contribute to the exportation more efficiently. This effort will increase the level of contribution to gross exports in general.
