  • The precent, many outdoor advertisements in the media has such experience. Looking at the trend of outdoor advertising media, visual stimuli, causing extreme curiosity, stimulate emotion, expression, such as illogical to consumers using a variety of unexpectedness "surprising expression" attempt to give a strong impression on consumers appears to can. In this study, outdoor advertising media, outdoor advertising is now through the case study to evaluate the characteristics of the media in the unexpectedness, in the process based on components derived extraordinariness configure Tetrad Map and extraordinariness factors of outdoor advertising media Analysis of the key elements to configure the user experience factor that has the purpose of identifying the characteristics extraordinariness. As a result of analysis of outdoor advertising media element to configure the Visual / Installation / Technology / Story of the most important factors acting Visual elements were found to be leveraging. Components, as well as factors was higher than the interest factor involved. So now with the development of outdoor advertising media, the unexpectedness expression appears in the flow, limited to the visual aspect of extraordinariness factors that could be seen being used. Characteristics of outdoor advertising media in the past did not deviate more as consumers look to stimulate the technical attributes of a visual form that could be seen to be extended.

  • The aim of this thesis is to develop a SMT-components placement inspection system equipped with a visual sensor. The visual sensor, which consists of a camera and 2-layer LED illuminator, developed to inspect the component placement state such as missing, shift, flipping, polarity and tomb-stone. on PCB in the reflow-process. In practical applications, however, it is too hard to classify component from images mixed pad on PCB, cream solder paste and component. To overcome the problem, this thesis proposes the 2-layer illumination method and the heuristic image processing algorithms according to inspection type. To show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, a series of experiments on the inspection were conducted. The results show that the proposed method is robust to visual noise and variations in component conditions.

  • AVI (Automatic Vision Inspection) systems automatically detect defect features and measure their sizes via camera vision. Defect detection is not an easy process because of noises from various sources and optical distortion. In this paper the acquired images from a TFT panel are enhanced with the adoption of an HVS (Human Visual System). A human visual system is more sensitive on the defect area than the illumination components because it has greater sensitivity to variations of intensity. In this paper we modified an MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) in the Wavelet domain and utilized the characteristics of an HVS. The proposed algorithm flattens the inner illumination components while preserving the defect information intact.

  • High-temperature components of gas turbine operated for certain period of time can be reused by being repaired or rejuvenated. In case of the gas turbine combustion liners, the biggest and the most important one in the high-temperature components, come in a repair shop after operated for 8,000 or 12,000 hours according to the model and go through the repair and rejuvenation in order to be reused. A stated combustion liner is the first channel which has the combustion gas reached a nozzle from a fuel nozzle. Materials and coating properties of old and new model combustion liners were investigated. To repair these components after the visual inspection, the coatings of combustion liners were removed and then FPI(Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection), a kind of the NDI(Non-Destructive Inspection), was conducted. Damage patterns and the number of the damaged components were classified and analyzed based on data provided from the visual inspection over a long period of time. Focusing on the difference between old model and new model combustion liners, we analyzed the damage distribution and changes and consequently concluded that new model combustion liner would increase repair rate.

  • We develop the signal processing method for implementing the human perceptual variant on frequency and space. The human visual perceptual sensitivity varies as frequency components and the human perceivable resolution diminishes as the distances further from the eye-focused point. For realizing the frequency sensitivity, we developed the signal direction adaptive multiband energy scaling method to weight the frequency components. The low-pass filtering is designed on the developed energy scaling method for diminishing perceivable resolutions as the deviated distance from the eye-focused point. The developed method not only enhances the frequency components of image signals at the eye-focused region but also smoothes non-perceivable detailed image signals at non-focused regions. The proposed method is verified by the subjective and objective evaluations that it can improve human perceptual visual quality.

  • The amount of damage suffered from the red tide occurring at the near shore is increasing rapidly. The Windows visual system discussed in this paper is developed in order to help minimize the damage. The system is focused on the monitoring the coastal environment. and forecasting the red tide occurrence. Although several similar systems are now existing. most of them are based on the web application. which cause the large response time. limited presentation ability of data. and inability of data storing at client side. The Windows visual system described in this paper operates on the Internet to get the ubiquitous access. One of three components of the Windows visual system. client system is developed as a Windows application in order to overcome the weak points of the previous systems. The gathering. analysis, and monitoring of data can be done at real time using the Windows visual system.

  • Several metrics have been reported in the literature to assess stereo image quality, mostly based on visual attention or human visual sensitivity based distortion prediction with the help of disparity information, which do not consider the combined aspects of human visual processing. In this paper, visual attention and depth assisted stereo image quality assessment model (VAD-SIQAM) is devised that consists of three main components, i.e., stereo attention predictor (SAP), depth variation (DV), and stereo distortion predictor (SDP). Visual attention is modeled based on entropy and inverse contrast to detect regions or objects of interest/attention. Depth variation is fused into the attention probability to account for the amount of changed depth in distorted stereo images. Finally, the stereo distortion predictor is designed by integrating distortion probability, which is based on low-level human visual system (HVS), responses into actual attention probabilities. The results show that regions of attention are detected among the visually significant distortions in the stereo image pair. Drawbacks of human visual sensitivity based picture quality metrics are alleviated by integrating visual attention and depth information. We also show that positive correlation with ground-truth attention and depth maps are increased by up to 0.949 and 0.936 in terms of the Pearson and the Spearman correlation coefficients, respectively.

  • X-ray can be applied to obtain a projection image of an object. It is not easy to obtain an high quality image for the object composed of low and high density materials. For the object with large difference in density, it is possible to realize high contrast image using images of low and high tube voltages and image processing. The plastic and metalic parts of the electronic components can be imaged by the dual energy technique which use low and high tube voltages and by processing pixel-by-pixel using visual C++. The contrast-enhanced image can be used to detect and observe defects within the electronic components.
