유사성(類似性) 판단(判斷)과 검사수행도(檢査遂行度)에 관한 연구 (An Effect of Similarity Judgement on Human Performance in Inspection Tasks)

  • An inspection task largely can be seen as a job divided up into a series of visual search and classification subtasks. In these subtasks, an Inspector must performs to compare the standard references proposed in visual environments and recalled in his memory with the visual stimuli to be inspected. It means that the judgement of similarity should be demanded on inspection tasks. Therefore, the inspector's ability for the judgement of similarity and the difference similarity between inspection materials are important factors to effect on performances in inspection tasks. In this paper, to analysis the effect of these factors on inspection time, an inspection task is designed and suggested by means of computer simulator. Especially, the skin conductance responses(SCR) of subjects are measured to evaluate the complexity of tasks due to the difference of similarity between materials. In the results of experiment, the more similar or different the difference of similarity between materials is, the shorter the inspection time is because of the reduction of task complexity. And, When the inspector's cognition for similarity between materials is consistanct, the inpsection time is improved. Concludingly, the consistency of reponses for similarity judgement becomes a measurement to present the performance levels. And the information of inspection time that due to the difference of similarity between materials must be considered in planning and scheduling inspection tasks.

저 복잡도 비디오 복호화기를 위한 디블록킹 필터 (Deblocking Filter for Low-complexity Video Decoder)

  • 본 논문은 저 복잡도 비디오 복호화기를 위한 디블록킹 필터를 제안한다. 휴대전화와 같은 모바일 장치에서 많이 사용되는 H.264/AVC Baseline 프로파일은 MPEG-4 Visual 보다 압축 성능은 두 배 이상 높지만, 1/4-픽셀 보간 필터, 적응적 엔트로피 모델 및 디블록킹 필터를 사용함에 따라 복호화기의 복잡도가 높다는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 H.264/AVC의 부호화 성능은 유지하면서 복호화기의 복잡도를 감소시키기 위하여 저 복잡도 디블록킹 필터를 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 저 복잡도 디블록킹 필터는 BS (Boundary Strength)값에 대해 CBP (Coded Block Pattern)값을 이용하여 계산함으로써, 기존의 방법보다 분기문의 수를 49% 감소시켰다. 또한, 인트라 매크로블록 경계에서 적용되는 강한 필터링 (Strong Filtering)에 대해 필터링의 적용 범위를 두 픽셀로 제한하였다. 실험 결과, 제안하는 저 복잡도 디블록킹 필터는 H.264/AVC Baseline 프로파일에 비해 BDBitrate를 -0.02% 감소 시켰고, 디블록킹 필터의 복잡도는 42%, 복호화기 전체의 복잡도는 8.96% 감소 시켰다.

  • Recently several methods have been developed for the virtual space construction. Generally, most of the methods are geometric-based rendering technic, but they are difficult to construct real-time rendering because of large data. In this paper, we present a three dimension image-based rendering method that enable a constant speed of real-time rendering regardless of object complexity in virtual space. The Proposed method shows good performance for the virtual space construction with high complexity.

Distortion Variation Minimization in low-bit-rate Video Communication

  • A real-time frame-layer rate control algorithm with a token bucket traffic shaper is proposed for distortion variation minimization. The proposed rate control method uses a non-iterative optimization method for low computational complexity, and performs bit allocation at the frame level to minimize the average distortion over an entire sequence as well as variations in distortion between frames. The proposed algorithm does not produce time delay from encoding, and is suitable for real-time low-complexity video encoder. Experimental results indicate that the proposed control method provides better visual and PSNR performances than the existing rate control method.

Visual Servoing of a Mobile Manipulator Based on Stereo Vision

  • In this study, stereo vision system is applied to a mobile manipulator for effective tasks. The robot can recognize a target and compute the position of the target using a stereo vision system. While a monocular vision system needs properties such as geometric shape of a target, a stereo vision system enables the robot to find the position of a target without additional information. Many algorithms have been studied and developed for an object recognition. However, most of these approaches have a disadvantage of the complexity of computations and they are inadequate for real-time visual servoing. However, color information is useful for simple recognition in real-time visual servoing. In this paper, we refer to about object recognition using colors, stereo matching method, recovery of 3D space and the visual servoing.

  • Visual perception is a complex process engaging many different aspects of brain functioning. Like other cognitive functions, the extensive cortical distribution and complexity of visual perceptional activites make them hihgly vulnerable to brain injury. Dectection and characterization of perceptual disorders require a careful clinical assessment as well as the application of selected neuropsychological tests. In this article we reviewed neuropsychological assessment of visual perception and constructional abilities. And the principal visuospatial disorders are discussed, the associated neuropsychiatric disorders are presented.

깊이맵 변환을 이용한 3D 입체감 개선 방법 (Improvement of 3D Stereoscopic Perception Using Depth Map Transformation)

  • 3D 영화 콘텐츠처럼 고해상도로 만들어진 입체영상은 저해상도 영상에서는 동일한 3D 깊이감을 느낄 수가 없다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 공간적 복잡도을 이용하여 깊이맵을 변환하여 입체감을 개선할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법에서는 깊이맵의 히스토그램을 분석한 후에, 깊이맵을 다수의 깊이평면으로 분할한 다음에 깊이 평면을 변환한다. 마지막으로 변환된 깊이평면을 통합하여 최종 깊이맵을 생성한다. 주관적 평가 실험에서는 입체감 개선 및 이에 따라 발생하는 시각적 피로도를 검증하였다. 실험에서는 입체감의 개선이 증명되었으며, 영상 해상도가 낮아져도, 입체감은 유지되는 것을 보여주었다. 또한 얻어진 입체영상의 시각적 피로도 검증을 통해서 생성된 입체영상은 피로도가 증가하지 않는 것을 보여주었다.

지각적-인지적 판단과 감정적 판단에 따른 복잡성과 선호도의 관계 - 상업공간의 실내디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationships between Complex and Preference by Perceptual-cognitive and Affective Judgement - Focused on the Commercial Interior Design -)

  • Design is inseparably related to aesthetics. In spite of that, it is difficult to explain the precise aesthetic variables that affect the aesthetic value of space or environment. Therefore, this study intended to find the relationships between aesthetic variables by perceptual and affective judgement for space design with focus on complexity and preference variables. The research found low level of 'arousing' as well as high levels of affective dimension variables 'pleasant' and 'relaxing' evoked high preference. High preference also appeared in space design cases with high unity, order, and clarity with low contrast and complexity, which are variables of perceptual dimension. Complexity, one variables of preference by Kaplan, is in an inverse proportion to space preference. Thus, space design with high complexity has high level of 'exciting' and 'arousing' affective responses and relatively low level of 'relaxing' response. Additionally, it was confirmed that the most importantly influential factor on complexity was diverse components rather than visual richness and ornamentation.

신장의 개인차로 인한 서로 다른 눈높이에서 경험된 시각장면의 감각적 특성 (Sensory Properties of Visual Scenes Experienced from Different Eye-Heights Arising from Individual Differences in Body-Heights)

  • 개인의 신장 차이로 인한 눈높이 차이는 동일 시각장면에 대한 상이한 감각적 경험을 초래해, 장기적으로는 심리사회적, 발달적 개인차로 이어질 가능성이 있다. 이러한 가능성을 토대로 본 연구는, 동일 피사체를 대상으로 서로 다른 두 높이의 카메라 즉 상이한 눈높이에서 촬영된 두 정지 영상의 감각적 특성을 서로 비교하였다. 분석 대상이 된 두 영상은 보행자의 신체 부위 서로 다른 높이에 부착된 두 액션 카메라를 통해 병렬 촬영된 정지화면 사진이었다. 두 카메라 높이조건에서 추출된 사진들을 분석한 결과, 전반적 현출성과 시각적 복잡성 수준 모두가 높이가 낮은 조건보다 높은 조건의 사진들에서 상대적으로 높았다. 이 결과는 서로 다른 눈높이에서 경험된 시각장면에 감각적 특성 차이가 있을 가능성과 함께, 신장이 큰 개인의 경우 작은 개인에 비해 상대적으로 풍부하고 다양한 시각 단서들을 경험할 가능성을 시사한다.
