가상환경기반 원격작업자 시각지원시스템 개발 및 시험 (Development and Test of the Remote Operator Visual Support System Based on Virtual Environment)

  • With a remote operated manipulator system, the situation at a remote site can be rendered through remote visualized image to the operator. Then the operator can quickly realize situations and control the slave manipulator by operating a master input device based on the information of the virtual image. In this study, the remote operator visual support system (ROVSS) was developed for viewing support of a remote operator to perform the remote task effectively. A visual support model based on virtual environment was also inserted and used to fulfill the need of this study. The framework for the system was created by Windows API based on PC and the library of 3D graphic simulation tool such as ENVISION. To realize this system, an operation test environment for a limited operating site was constructed by using experimental robot operation. A 3D virtual environment was designed to provide accurate information about the rotation of robot manipulator, the location and distance of operation tool through the real time synchronization. In order to show the efficiency of the visual support, we conducted the experiments by four methods such as the direct view, the camera view, the virtual view and camera view plus virtual view. The experimental results show that the method of camera view plus virtual view has about 30% more efficiency than the method of camera view.

실가공형 CAM 시스템의 구현을 위한 가공면 예측 및 실험검증 (Machined Surface Prediction and Experimental Verification for Virtual Machining CAM System)

  • With the contemporary CAD/CAM system, where the tool path is generated and verified purely based on the geometric operation, geometric accuracy of the machined surface cannot be guaranteed dut to the cutting mechanics, meaning that the cutting mechanics should be incorporated in some fashion. In this paper, we incorporate the instantaneous cutting force and the tool deflection phenomena in predicting the machined surface for the finish-cut and milling operation. For the given NC dat including cutting conditions, the developed algorithm computes cutting force and deflection amount along the tool trajectory, and outputs the 3D graphic model of the machined surface together with error analysis. The validity and accuracy of the presented method has been tested by the actual cutting experiments. Experimental results and accuracy enhancement method together with implementing architecture of the VMCS (Virtual Machining CAM System) are discussed in the paper.

가상조작 도구를 활용한 RME기반 수학학습이 초등학생의 공간감각 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Mathematics Study based RME Theory with Virtual Operation Tools on Spatial Sense and Mathematical Attitudes in Elementary School)

  • 본 연구에서는 2009 개정 수학과 교육과정에 따른 6학년 수학교과서의 도형 영역을 분석하여 RME에 기반한 가상조작도구 콘텐츠를 개발하고, 이를 초등학교 6학년 학생들을 대상으로 적용하여 공간감각 및 수학적 태도에 미치는 효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 6학년 도형 영역에서 가상조작도구를 활용한 RME기반 수학 학습이 일반적인 수학 학습보다 공간감각 향상에 유의미한 효과를 보였다. 이는 평면적인 학습 환경에서 벗어나 RME 기반 3차원 가상조작 콘텐츠를 활용한 수업이 교육적으로 의미가 있으며 학생들의 공간감각을 기르는데 효과적인 방안임을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 초등학교 6학년 도형 영역에서 가상조작도구를 활용한 RME기반 수학 학습을 적용한 실험집단이 비교집단보다 학생들의 수학적 태도에서 유의미한 효과를 보였다. 특히 수학적 태도의 3가지 하위 요소인 수학교과에 대한 자아개념과 교과에 대한 태도, 교과에 대한 학습습관에서 모두 실험집단이 비교집단에 비해 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이는 가상조작도구를 활용한 RME기반 수학학습이 자기주도적인 학습 습관을 길러주고 수업에 임하는 학습 태도 개선에 효과가 있는 것으로 판단되며 모둠 내에서 서로 협력하고 의사소통하는 모습도 발견할 수 있었다.

A Process Planning System for Machining of Dies for Auto-Body Production-Operation Planning and NC Code Post-Processing

  • This paper presents a process and operation planning system and an NC code post-processor for effective machining of press dies for production of cars. Based on the machining feature, major parts of press dies are categorized into 15 groups and a standard process plan is defined for each group. The standard process plan consists of a series of processes where a process is defined as a group of operations that can be done with one setup. Details such as cutting tools, cutting conditions, and tool paths are decided at the operation planning stage. At the final stage of process and operation planning, the NC code post-processor adjusts feedrates along the tool path to reduce machining time while maintaining the quality. The adjustment rule is selected based on the machining load estimated by virtual machining.

  • Virtual manufacturing system is integrated computer model that represents the precise and whole structure of manufacturing system and simulates its physical and logical behavior in operation.[1] A virtual machine is computer model that represents a CNC machine tool and one of core elements of virtual manufacturing system. In this paper, it is emphasized that a virtual machine must be web-based system for serving information to all attendants in a real machine tool without the restriction of time or location, and then in the fault diagnosis, one of important modules of a virtual machine, the methods of both using the controller signal and web-based expert system are proposed.

  • This paper resents a virtual forming system to simulate deep drawing process for stress-strain information by utilizing virtual system designed using Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) and computer aided analysis (CAE) tool. The CAE tool to calculate stress, strain, and deformation is designed using Finite Element Method. Stress distributions and deformation profiles as well as the operation of forming machine can be simulated and visualized in the web. The developed system consists of three modules, input module, virtual forming machine module, and output module. The input nodule was designed using HTML and ASP. The input data for FEM calculation is directed to the forming machine module for calculation. The results from the forming machine module can be visualized through output module as well as the forming process simulation.

  • Virtual manufacturing systems that perform production activities ahead of real production in virtual world can reduce time and cost to develop, design, plan, and manage new products. In this paper, a virtual manufacturing system is constructed as a tool to support decision making by using VRML and Java. The basic structure of the virtual manufacturing system and the operation models are also presented. The developed system helps any related persons to share design and manufacturing information, and to perform their tasks collaboratively through Internet. The other function of the system is to monitor operation status in real time.

  • To develop an effective virtual prototyping methodology for the PLC(Programmable Logic Controller) based real-time systems, a conversion algorithm from RLL(Relay Ladder Logic) to statechart is presented in this paper. The RLL is the main programming language to represent the operation of the PLC, and the statechart is the most widely used tool in the field of virtual prototyping in order to represent the behaviour of real-time systems. A virtual prototyping for an example case is implemened to evaluate the benefit of the proposed algorithm.

고능률 선삭 가공을 위한 가상 가공 기반의 이송량 최적화 (Feed Optimization Based on Virtual Manufacturing for High-Efficiency Turning)

  • High-efficient machining, which means to machine a part in the least amount of time, is the most effective tool to improve productivity. In this study, a new feed optimization method based on virtual manufacturing was proposed to realize the high-efficient machining in turning process through the cutting power regulation. The cutting area was evaluated by using the Boolean intersection operation between the cutting tool and workpiece. And the cutting force and power were predicted from the cutting parameters such as feed, depth of cut, spindle speed, specific cutting force, and so on. Especially, the reliability of the proposed optimization method was validated by comparing the predicted and measured cutting forces. The simulation results showed that the proposed optimization method could effectively enhance the productivity in turning process.
