  • In spite of the rapid development of the public network, the variety of network-based developments currently raises numerous risks factors regarding copyright violation, the prohibition and distribution of digital media utilization, safe communication, and network security. Among these problems, multimedia data tend to increase in the distributed network environment. Hence, most image information has been transmitted in the form of digitalization. Therefore, the need for multimedia contents protection must be addressed. This paper is focused on possible solutions for multimedia contents security in the public network in order to prevent data modification by non-owners and to ensure safe communication in the distributed network environment. Accordingly, the Orthogonal Forward Wavelet Transform-based Scalable Digital Watermarking technique is proposed in this paper.

  • This paper deals with shunt compensation to eliminate voltage violation and enhance transfer capability, which is motivated towards implementation in the Korean power system. The optimal shunt compensation algorithm has demonstrated its effectiveness in terms of voltage accuracy and reducing the number of actions of reactive power compensating devices. The main shunt compensation devices are capacitor and reactor. Effects of control devices are evaluated by cost computations. The control objective at present is to keep the voltage profile of a key bus within constraints with minimum switching cost. A robust control strategy is proposed to make the control feasible and optimal for a set of power-flow cases that may occurs important event from system. Case studies with metropolitan area of the Korean power system are presented to illustrate the method.

  • Block stacking, which involves the storage of unit loads in stacks within storage rows, is typically used in traditional warehouses to achieve a high space utilization at a low investment cost. In this paper, assuming that the demand size from a customer is an i.i.d. random variable, we develop a probabilistic block stacking storage model and its algorithm for a singles product, which minimizes the time-overage floor space requirement under an (s, S) inventory policy and the violation of the FIFO lot rotation rule only in a single partially-occupied row.

  • As computer vision algorithms are developed on a continuous basis, the visual information from vision sensors has been widely used in the context of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), called visual SLAM, which utilizes relative motion information between images. This research addresses a visual SLAM framework for online localization and mapping in an unstructured seabed environment that can be applied to a low-cost unmanned underwater vehicle equipped with a single monocular camera as a major measurement sensor. Typically, an image motion model with a predefined dimensionality can be corrupted by errors due to the violation of the model assumptions, which may lead to performance degradation of the visual SLAM estimation. To deal with the erroneous image motion model, this study employs a local bundle optimization (LBO) scheme when a closed loop is detected. The results of comparison between visual SLAM estimation with LBO and the other case are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology.

  • With data of historical spill from vessels occurred in korean coastal waters, the author analyze the causes of spill and evaluate response technique adopted during spill. It is found that the majority of spill caused by operational failure, bad weather, violation of navigation rule and hull defect. As a result of evaluation of response measures, it is suggested that responsible agency establishes criteria for various response options and standards of tier response time and capability according to the size of spill.

  • In KwangYang steel works power system operation, the ON-LINE application of power system diagnosis technology is indispensable to not only power quality, but also stable operation and economical generation. In cases of stability constraint violation. stable power system operation is obstructed. Steel works power system is consist of 154kV transmission lines, and 345, 154, 22, and 6.6[KV] distributed lines, 5 numbers of substation, 17 units of generators. For this power system operation. loadflow program is developed. Database is tied with Windows GUI application, is designed, and is interfaced with this program. This program put up with loadflow solution of assembled MMI power system, and planed to diagnose of overloads or to imitate entrance, and isolation of equipment.

  • This paper discusses sensitivity analysis for determining adequate locations of series-type FACTS devices. The main objective of FACTS reinforcement is to alleviate line over-loadings against violation of thermal limits after disturbances. This paper, to obtain the information concerning series-type FACTS locations, proposes a formulation for the sensitivity of the PI (Performance Index) with respect to the variation of the branch parameters, and applies to 5-bus test system to show the effectiveness of the sensitivity.

  • For the purpose of speed-up of conventional lines with many curves, the introduction and operation of tilting train is under process. Those are Joong-Ang, Jang-Hang and Ho-nam lines etc. Tilting trains can run a curve section faster than existing trains without a significant violation of passenger's comfort and enable to reduce operating time in the lines with many curves. In this study, the trains speeds are evaluated, based on the alignment of conventional line, criteria for passenger's comfort and investigated field conditions of the sections where the curves exist. Decision on whether the alignment(transition line) needs to be modified or not is also made. Relative efficiency on curve sections of tilting train to existing trains is approximately $50\%$ in average.

  • In this study, we consider various methods to estimate the weights of a pairwise comparison matrix in the Analytic Hierarchy Process widely applied in various decision-making fields. This paper uses a data dependent simulation to evaluate the statistical accuracy, minimum violation and minimum norm of the obtaining weight methods from a reciprocal symmetric matrix. No method dominates others in all criteria. Least squares methods perform best in point of mean squared errors; however, the eigenvectors method has an advantage in the minimum norm.
