In the village, the community consciousness of members appears as a landscape characteristic according to the passage of time. In addition, when the landscape of the village is stabilized, the relationship between members is strengthened. Urban villages change and become outdated depending on social conditions. So, it investigates and analyzes the landscape data of the village and the status of the community. The Jeonju Hanok village, which is the subject of the study, was restored from an slum urban village through urban regeneration projects. The village is a tourist attraction with more than 10 million tourists. However, as the commerce in the village was strengthened, the function of the village was weakening. Also, the existing village landscape was changing for commercial purposes. The current village is in a situation where the restored landscape can be changed again. Therefore, efforts are needed to maintain the landscape of the village and restore its function. Jeonju Hanok village needed a member's perspective, not a resident's perspective. Lastly, the relationship between members can be strengthened only when the village landscape is stable.
This is a case study on the counterplan for reducing agricultural environmental pollution in the SANHYUN Livestock Club through participatory research from March, 1993 to June, 1995. In the monthly meetings, the active discussion about agricultural environmental pollution gradually increased with the village people, Club members and other people because of a consciousness-raising created through discussion activities. In addition, the Club members have established a septic tank and accumulation store-house after active participation in such discussions about the environmental pollution. After two years, the number of septic tanks and accumulation store-houses has increased from two to 10. Gradually all village people are becoming more aware of village environmental pollution. Four non-member farmers have constructed a septic tanks and several member farmers have constructed the fermentation system of sawdust and hulls.
The primary purpose of this paper is to analyze the membership of fishing community. In order to become a member of fishing community, some conditions are needed both the member of local fisheries cooperatives and resident of fishing village. Generally, many fishing communities have additional conditions such as to be a member of fishing community that is a minimum term of residence, an entrance fee, fishing abilities. These additional conditions play a critical role in making a relationship, building trust and enhancing fairness. However, the setting of excessive additional conditions make it possible to obstruct growth of fishing community.
The purpose of this study was to examine theoretical underpinnings of housing adjustment as applied to residents of Korean folk housing. On random and voluntary base, 66 households of the Andong Haboe folk village were asked to participate in the present study for a self-administrated questionnaire survey as well as open-ended face-to-face interviews. Some valuable results were obtained as follows. In spite of the legal barrier to change in physical conditions of housing, first, a huge amount of adjustment actually took place in the rural folk village. Satisfying basic amenity or shelter needs turned out to be the basic role of adjustment. Second, the number of adjustment works previously done was not effective anyhow in predicting the level of housing satisfaction. Speare's (1974) satisfaction theory of housing adjustment was largely supported by the present study. Highly dissatisfied residents with their housing were more likely to expect adjustment works of their own. Additionally, age turned out to be the most powerful predictor of housing adjustment. Finally, housing satisfaction was positively correlated with community attachment (Kendall's $\tau$ =.35 ; p 〈 .001). Residents satisfied with their house were more likely to be proud of being a member of community. Overall, though, community attachment was not related anyhow to the willingness of housing adjustment.
The World Health Organization and its member states, in 1978, declared that primary health care is a key to attain the goal of Health for All by the goal of Health for All by the yeas 2000. As a member state of WHO, the Republic of Korea has participated in the declaration of ALMA-ATA and committed to put national efforts for devedoping and implementing primary health care approach with the spirit and content of this Declaration. Since 1978, to translate the spirit of the Declaration into realization, Korean goverment has developed a new category of health manpower such as Community Health Practitioners serving people living in remote rural areas and Village Health Workers serving voluntarily their own village, strengthened the function of Health Centers and Health Subcenters through their reorientation and improved the infrastructure by their new construction or renovation. While primary health care is viewed as an essential health care in Korea, there are some circles who follow a narrow definition in referring to the health care at the periphey of a health system, which is erroneous. Considering the PHC is accepted as the best alternative approach to health care to solve problems that modern health systems are facing, we propose the followings as desirable health policy directions that modern health systems are facing, we propose the followings as desirable health policy directions which might translate the persopective into action at the national level after reviewing past and current PHC approach in Korea : 1. To improve the equity through the reduction of gaps between those who have access to health care and those who have not. 2. To reinforce multisectoral approach and intersectoral coordination through the re- establishment of the National Health Council or establishment of equivalent organization at the central level. 3. To stengthen community participation through lacal people's empowerment by leadership training, changing planning process from the top-down approach to bottom-up and giving the priority to human resources rater than technology, 4. To reinforce the Ministries of Health and Social Affairs through upgrading its role and function to Coordinate Ministries which involve human welfare policies, and creating a Division which is in charge of PHC in the Ministry.
This study is focused on the geological structure of Igog-Jangam folded zone in the vicinity of Goesan town where Ogcheon group distributes. The geology is composed of Gyemyungsan formation, Daehyangsan quartzite, Munjuri formation and Hwanggangri formation of Ogcheon group unknown age in descending order, and porphyritic biotite granite and dyke rocks that intruded into the Ogcheon group. The study revealed that Igog-Jangam folded zone is a plunged synclinal fold based on the following evidences; 1) Some pebbles in Hwanggangri formation at Minaemi-gol (a name of village) consists of phyllite of Munjuri formation. 2) The pebble bearing phyllitic bed in this area, Hwanggangri formation was recognized as the uppermost member in Ogcheon group instead of the basal one of the group. 3) A crest of anticlinal fold has been appeared near the Goegang bridge as a structural counter-part of that of the present area. 4) The study of lineation of minor fold in Munjuri formation also suggests that Igog-Jangam folded zone manifests to be a synclinal structure.
This study was designed to analyse effects of Family Health Workers' activities on the performance of a child immunization program as part of the evaluative research in the community health demonstration project in Kang Wha. Frequent shortcomings of evaluative research are problems in setting evaluative indices, difficulties in interpreting influences of socioeconomic changes due to lack of control and failure of demonstrating association between activity input and program performance. Specific objectives of this study was to improve the frequent shortcoming of evaluative research by isolating the effects of Family Health Workers' activities on the performance of the program through controlling other variables which also influenced the program performance. The target population consisted of 1240 children who were born between Jan. 1971 and Dec. 1975 in Sunwon Myun, and Naega Myun in Kwang Wha Gun, Kyonggi Province. The data were collected in part through 20 Family Health Workers who interviewed the mothers of these children in their villages during Nov. 1977. Part of the data were obtained by summarizing Family Health Workers daily activity records. All data were grouped for each birth cohort according to the 20 villages. Dependent variable of the model is the measle immuinization rate of each village and the independent variables are characteristics of baby, mother, household, travel time to the health subcenter, to Kang Wha Town, and the mean member of visits to the household by Family Health Workers as well as their other related activities and the year of birth of children according to village. The model was analysed by stepwise multiple regression technique. The summarized results show that overall $R^2$ were 39.3% and mean number of Family Health Worker household visits, mean age of mother and mean economic status were significant variables in explaining the immunization rate. Therefore Family Health Workers' activities are one of the significant variables in influencing the increased immunization rate of children in villages of the project area.

This study aims to analyzes the Relationship Between Community Consciousness and Residents' Participation in Tourism Development. Starting in 2004, the Rural Tourism Development Project, which has been promoted in Korea, is taking a bottom-up approach that values the participation of residents. And Resident's Participation is also an important criterion for selecting business sites. As the farming community becomes more modern, the community consciousness is declining. But Community consciousness is an important factor for the sustainable maintenance of rural villages. And if community members share a sense of homogeneity, they can identify problems that communities have, and they can solve them with responsibility. Community consciousness can be called the basic infrastructure of residents' participation. Rural tourism feature different characteristics from other tourist areas in that the residential space of local residents is the destination of the tours. As a result, the influence on tourism development is directly affected, so the attitude of local residents is an important success factor unlike other tourism developments. The study analyzed the community consciousness and participation in Tourism Development, which is a significant success factor in rural areas. The survey which included 200 residents of the DMZ Peace Village Site, was concluded that the member's perception and ttachment among Community Consciousness affected the Residents' Participation, and that Economic Influence among tourist development attitudes affected the Residents' Participation. It based on the results in rural tourism development for the residents' participation should be considered with a plan to enhance the economic life satisfaction and promote the economic impact on the area.

South Korea had encouraged farmers to breed bear to increase farmer's income since 1981. Currently farmers breed over thousand number of bears, however but the policy measures for breeding bears is expected to conflict the main stream of bear conservation due to South Korea belong to the member of CITES, which categorizes and manages bears under Wild Fauna and Flora Protection Act. Government needs to establish a special law containg the win-win relief strategy not only for farmers of breeding bears, but international corresponding policy. So, we have reviewed the domestic status and international trends on breeding bears, and suggest the alternative strategies of the policy such as a bear park, a bear village, use of species recovery center, use of a preservation organization. This policy should be accompanied with more detailed fact analysis, management agency, well equipped welfare facility and financial preparation for proper management of breeding bears against changing international trends on wildlife conservation.
