  • In modern era Busan, newspaper articles about cherry blossom attractions from FuzanNippo and ChosenJiho have changed from places of landmark cherry trees to recreational activities under the cherry blossom. This means that the place characteristics of the cherry blossom attractions helped transform modern Busan. This study is to clarify the real image of the cherry blossom attractions where they were and when it was established in modern Busan. In order to discuss the location characteristics and the timing of identification as it changed from cherry-blossom viewing spots to picnic spots under the cherry blossom, current articles published in the FuzanNippo and ChosenJiho were collected. This study results are as follows: First of all, cherry blossom attractions are located in private gardens, gardens at hot spring inns, public lands such as schools, temples, reservoirs and malls such as Dongnae hot spring and the Midoricho red-light district. The location feature was that they were found at the edges of settlement environments, at the interface of city and natural spaces in modern Busan. Secondly, newspaper articles about cherry blossom attractions gradually changed from cherry blossom viewing spots to picnic spots under the cherry blossom, which became the peak of the cherry blossom attractions in modern Busan. The main focus of cherry blossom attractions changed from cherry-blossom viewing to picnicking under cherry blossoms around 1920. This means that the establishment of cherry blossom attractions can be seen around 1920. Articles of cherry-blossom viewing picked up sites not easy to access such as private gardens and reservoirs, articles about picnic spots under cherry blossoms noted public places that everyone could access. Cherry blossom attractions sites became spring resorts in modern Busan.

  • Crosstalk has been regarded as one of inherent problems in a factor disturbing optimal viewing experiences. For this reason, display developers address the crosstalk issues. However, due to various display characteristics and viewing environments it is hard to estimate the crosstalk generated in real space. This paper proposes an interactive multi-view display simulator based on augmented reality for developing mobile autostereoscopic displays. This display simulator can be used for the developers to estimate the crosstalk and find optimal viewing zone intuitively. Typical parameters for mobile phone use are applied for the estimation. The proposed simulator provides visualized crosstalk in real space for them to determine better viewing zone interactively. The proposed system is expected to help establish ergonomic guidelines for mobile multi-view autostereoscopic display developers, designers, and viewers.

  • As YouTube is rapidly growing as an information platform, we investigated practical impacts of YouTube knowledge content and creator characteristics on viewer satisfaction and purchase intention. In so doing, an empirical survey was conducted among the viewers of <Chekgrim>, one of representative book YouTube channels in Korea. A total of 641 valid samples were analyzed. This study aims to understand the impact of knowledge contents on YouTube, and creator characteristics on viewer satisfaction and purchase intention. Specifically, for the study, content characteristics were divided into three sub-factors: entertainment, information, and interactivity, and the creator characteristics were divided into two sub-factors: intimacy and professionalism. Viewing satisfaction and purchase intention were set as dependent variables. The results of various analyses confirm that creator characteristics have direct and indirect effects on viewers' purchase intentions, and in particular, intimacy has the greatest influence on purchase intentions. This is expected to be a meaningful empirical analysis for future influencer marketing strategies and effective communications between content creators and consumers.

  • We present an in-depth analysis on the factors that influence viewing satisfaction and behavior of visitors in the exhibition. The proposed method consists of two steps including, i) classification of factors into demographic and social, psychological, cultural through surveys and ii) analysis the impact of viewing satisfaction and behavior on the characteristics of visitors. The proposed method can find the characteristics of each factor from the general audience, and can be used in planning and the exhibition in the form of an organized database in the future.

  • This study focuses on the color characteristics of FFS (Fringe Field Switching). We use various methods to prove the high performance of color characteristics in the Fringe Field Switching mode. We have described a color performance of 15" XGA product by the viewing angle range using x, y parameters of CIE chromaticity diagram. And so we used the 2 dimensional analyzing to prove the color shift distribution by viewing angle.

  • In this study, we analyzed the old`s characteristics for depth perception in comparison with the young`s as a basic study for universal design in field of products or facilities. Twenty three of the old and twenty two of the young had participated and the depth perception apparatus was used in this experiment. Gender, viewing distance, and age were considered as factors and the differences of depth perception were analyzed for each experimental condition. In the result, a significant difference was not detected on gender, but significant differences were detected on age and viewing distance. That is, we can see that the old is remarkably worse than the young on depth perception task. Therefore, it means that these characteristics have to be absolutely considered in user interface design to improve the old`s accessibility for products or facilities.

  • Viewing angle characteristics of a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) using a in-plane driven (IPD) vertical alignment (VA) cell without a negative compensation film on a homeotropic alignment layer were studied. Good voltage-transmittance (V - T) curves were obtained using the rubbing aligned IPD- VA cell. However, instability and low transmittances of V - T characteristics in photo aligned IPD- VA cell was measured. The EO performance of a rubbingaligned IPD- VA cell without a negative compensation film was wider than that of photoaligned IPD- VA cell and conventional VA cell. Also, the fabrication processes using the rubbing aligned IPD- VA cell mode be carried out with only one-sided rubbing.

  • The fringe-field switching (FFS) mode was known to exhibit both a wide viewing angle and high transmittance, especially when using the liquid crystal (LC) with negative dielectric anisotropy. In the device, the LC director rotates almost in-plane. However, in the bright state the device shows bluish and yellowish color along parallel and perpendicular to the LC director at off-normal directions since the LC director rotates only in one direction. Such a problem was greatly improved using a wedge shape of only pixel electrodes. In this way two different field directions exist in a pixel, enabling the LC director to rotate in two opposite directions. Consequently, owing to dual domain effect when using the LC with negative dielectric anisotropy, the viewing angle characteristics are greatly improved.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of exhibition circulation through the movement pattern. It looks into the factoers under the influence with the visitor's movement. The method of analysis of investigation by following after visitors. The viewing behavioral of exhibition based on the time, speed, proportion of appreciation is classfied into three types of the profound, the general, the passing viewers. The characteristics of the viewing form of these patterns largely depend on the space elements which are the structure form. And particularly the position of exit, the width of exhibition space and the connection of exhibition space stand out the disparity of the factor of the spatial structure These three patterns bring about a lot of encounter in the exhibition space according to the difference of these routes consequently. So appropriate to the each pattern can offer visitors to more effective environment of exhibition.

  • We have studied 90$^{\circ}$ twisted nematic mode switching by fringe electric field(F-TN mode) using a liquid crystal (LC) with negative dielectric anisotropy. In the device, two polarizers are parallel each other, electrodes exist only on bottom substrate, and one of rubbing direction is coincident with polarizer axis. Therefore, the cell shows a black state before a voltage is applied. With a bias voltage generating fringe-electric field, the LC twists perpendicular to fringe electric field such that the LCs are almost homogeneously aligned except near the bottom surface since the negative type of the LC is used. Consequently, the new device exhibits much wider viewing angle than that of the conventional TN mode due to in-plane switching and relatively high transmittance since the LC director above whole electrode area aligns parallel to the polarizer axis.
