  • In this paper, we propose a panorama-based object tracking scheme for wide-view surveillance systems that can detect and track moving objects with a pan-tilt camera. A dynamic mosaic of the background is progressively integrated in a single image using the camera motion information. For the camera motion estimation, we calculate affine motion parameters for each frame sequentially with respect to its previous frame. The camera motion is robustly estimated on the background by discriminating between background and foreground regions. The modified block-based motion estimation is used to separate the background region. Each moving object is segmented by image subtraction from the mosaic background. The proposed tracking system has demonstrated good performance for several test video sequences.

  • We present an autostereoscopic 3D display system using volume hologram. In this proposed system, the interference pattern of angular multiplexed plane reference and object beams are recorded into a volume hologram, which plays a role of guiding object beams of multi-view images into the desired perspective directions. For reconstruction, object beams containing the desired multi-view image information, which satisfy Bragg matching condition, are illuminated in the time-division multiplexed manner onto the crystal. Then multiple stereoscopic images are projected to the display plane for autostereoscopic 3D viewing. It is possible to make a high resolution multiview 3D display system independent upon the viewpoint.

  • A visual sensor consisted of polygonal mirror, laser, and CCD camera was proposed to measure the distance to the weld joint for recognizing the joint shape. To scan the laser beam of the sensor onto an object, 8-facet polygonal mirror was used as the rotating mirror. By locating the laser and the camera at axi-symmetrical positions around the mirror, the synchronized-scan condition could be satisfied even when the mirror was set to rotate through one direction continuously, which could remove the inertia effect of the conventional oscillating-mirror methods. The mathematical modelling of the proposed sensor with the optical triangulation method made it possible to derive the relation between the position of an image on the camera and the one of a laser light on the object. Through the geometrical simulation of the proposed sensor with the principal of reflection and virtual image, the optical path of a laser light could be predicted. The position and direction of the CCD camera were determined based on the Scheimpflug's condition to fit the focus of any image reflected from an object within the field of view. The results of modelling and simulation revealed that the proposed visual sensor could be used to recognize the weld joint and its vicinity located within the range of the field of view and the resolution. • In this paper, implementation of object-based multiview 3D display using object segmentation and adaptive disparity estimation is proposed and its performance is analyzed by comparison to that of the conventional disparity estimation algorithms. In the proposed algorithm, firstly we can get segmented objects by region growing from input stereoscopic image pair and then, in order to effectively synthesize the intermediate view the matching window size is selected according to the extracted feature value of the input stereo image pair. Also, the matching window size for the intermediate view reconstruction (IVR) is adaptively selected in accordance with the magnitude of the extracted feature value from the input stereo image pair. In addition, some experimental results on the IVR using the proposed algorithm is also discussed and compared with that of the conventional algorithms.

  • Focused on developing form of Western architecture, invisible elements covering actual human life has been dealt with separately and the time was turned away and disparaged. But now the phenomenology, arranging such a meeting of space and time, gives opportunity to look at the actual life in architecture. Recently, Guille Deleuze and Merleau-Ponty tried to recover the sense of touch segregated in skin from body keeping eyes for distance. And the activity can be happened by being connected to the body rather than to eye in the space. From the phase of recognition where the human body tries to identify the object in the space considering a time, it will be changed for the subject to the phase of space-time structure. If the tactility is to erase the distance different from the visuality in dichotomy, it will be occurred to having a tension and makes new relationship to work trying to move the subjective point of view in object. Like this evidence in analysis of architecture, it can be found these in the Korean traditional architecture rather than Western architecture in terms of emphasizing the time and space. And this study will be intensive to the side of the Phenomenology how it is being connected to the movement in the space and time for the subject and object.

  • Electrical tree is studied widely by manufacture state of insulating material fare and blazing fire diagnosis system of use in phenomenon of part discharge that happen for main cause of dielectric breakdown of equipment for electric power. Use process that draw tree pattern here measuring above zero to study special quality of this electricity tree, real-time processing by image processing is proposed because reproduction of tree blazing fire process drops and pattern of tree is difficult correct quantification of tree growth by existent visual observation by involution. This research presents general process that need in image processing of tree blazing fire, and that remove various noises that happen in above zero by measuring electrical tree dividing background and complete view in measured above zero taking advantage of specially proposed complete view object abstraction techniques effectively and quantification of tree becomes easy naturally, can apply to dielectric breakdown estimate because can chase growth process of tree.

  • Recently, as business problems become more complicated and require more precise quantitative results, large-scale model management systems are increasingly in demand for supporting the decision-making activities. In addition, as distributed computing over networks gains popularity, departmental computing systems are gradually adopted in an organization to facilitate collaboration of geographically dispersed multiple departments. In departmental collaborative model management systems, multiple departments share common models but approach them with different user-views depending on their departmental needs. Moreover, the shared models become evolved as their structures and the corresponding data sets change due to the dynamic nature of the operating environment and the inherent uncertainty associated with the problems. In such capacity, providing the multiple departmental users with synchronized and consistent views of the models is important to improve the overall productivity. In this paper, we propose a collaborative model management framework for coordinating model change and automatic user-view update in a departmental computing environment. To do so, we describes changes in the model and their effects occurred in departmental model management environments and identifies the constructs and processes for maintaining the consistency between a shared model and its departmental user-views. Especially, in this framework, generic model concept was adopted for accommodating diverse mathematical models in a uniform way in a modelbase and object-oriented database management systems(ODBMS) for combining the model management constructs and automatic user-view update mechanisms in a single formalism. A prototype object-oriented modeling environment was developed using an ODBMS called ObjectStore and $C^{++}$ programming language on Windows NT.

  • Computer Supported Cooperative Work(CSCW) systems for cooperaton in distributed computing environment are used in many fields such as on-line approval, co-authoring, co-decision making, and so on. There have been many researches on co-drawing tools of the CSCW system, because they can be used in communication, co-design, and education. However, the existing tools are not flexible in system architecture and concurrency control. In this paper, we present "autonomous object," which includes concurrency control policy and information about its view. And we developed a new CSCW system with flexible system architecture.

  • This paper proposes a robust object tracking algorithm using object features and on-line learning based particle filter for mobile robots. Mobile robots with a side-view camera have problems as camera jitter, illumination change, object shape variation and occlusion in variety environments. In order to overcome these problems, color histogram and HOG descriptor are fused for efficient representation of an object. Particle filter is used for robust object tracking with on-line learning method IPCA in non-linear environment. The validity of the proposed algorithm is revealed via experiments with DBs acquired in variety environment. The experiments show that the accuracy performance of particle filter using combined color and shape information associated with online learning (92.4 %) is more robust than that of particle filter using only color information (71.1 %) or particle filter using shape and color information without on-line learning (90.3 %).
