Partial Model Matching Control System Design by Considering Pole-Placements (극배치를 고려한 제분 Model Matching 제어계 설계)

  • Identification of the plants is not easy task especially in the fields of process control. From this point of view, Kitamori developed a method of control system design based on partial knowledge about controlled processes. However, it is difficult to control the oscillatory plant by kitamori's method. In this paper, we develope a method of partial model matching control system design, which have desirable pole-placements in order to improve the above defects. Design examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the method.

  • This work proposes a binomial method for pricing the cliquet options, which provide a guaranteed minimum annual return. The proposed binomial tree algorithm simplifies the standard binomial approach, which is problematic for cliquet options in the computational point of view, or other recent methods, which may be of intricate algorithm or require pre- or post-processing computations. Our method is simple, efficient and reliable in a Black-Scholes framework with constant interest rates and volatilities.

  • The equivalent load method has been widely used in the design and analysis of prestressed concrete structures. The purpose of this paper is to explore several important method of obtaining equivalent loads and to clarify the advantages and limitations of each method. The methods devised in this study include the use of curvature of tendon, characteristics of primary moment, self-equilibrium conditions, and linear segments approximation of tendon. It is shown that equivalent lading system is not uniquely determined in some cases and careful engineering judgement is required from the view point of accuracy and practical convenience.

  • The present automated manufacturing environment is very different when the classical statiscal process control method based on batch processing were used. Therefore these must be replaced by automated statiscal process control method. In this point of view , this study intends to develop the automated statiscal process control method which can be implemented in the proesent automated manufacturing environment . Specially this study suggested modified control limit line and developed the rule to identify the special cause of the manufacturing process in the aspect of the ppm manegement.

  • This paper discusses the methods of computing tool-paths for machining free-form surfaces on 3-axis CNC machines in die and mould making. In computational view this paper describes the characteristics and issues of the geometric information and the shape, which make computing tool-paths difficult. Important points that should be considered in devising a computing method are also discussed. A newly implemented method is explained and compared with an old method for a commercial CAM system. The implemented method is used in a commercial CAM system and the computing time for an example is presented.

  • In this paper, the SMV 3D display method using liquid crystal shutter glass(LCSG) and SPB has been proposed. The proposed SMV display can solve the resolution degradation problem of conventional multiview displays that using based time-multiplexing method. Also, observers fatigue due to the mismatch between accommodation and vergence problem of glass-type 3D displays and conventional multiview displays, can be improved using SMV 3D display method.

Hole-filling Based on Disparity Map for DIBR

  • Due to sharp depth transition, big holes may be found in the novel view that is synthesized by depth-image-based rendering (DIBR). A hole-filling method based on disparity map is proposed. One important aspect of the method is that the disparity map of destination image is used for hole-filling, instead of the depth image of reference image. Firstly, the big hole detection based on disparity map is conducted, and the start point and the end point of the hole are recorded. Then foreground pixels and background pixels are distinguished for hole-dilating according to disparity map, so that areas with matching errors can be determined and eliminated. In addition, parallaxes of pixels in the area with holes and matching errors are changed to new values. Finally, holes are filled with background pixels from reference image according to these new parallaxes. Experimental results show that the quality of the new view after hole-filling is quite well; and geometric distortions are avoided in destination image, in contrast to the virtual view generated by depth-smoothing methods and image inpainting methods. Moreover, this method is easy for hardware implementation.

3D View Controlling by Using Eye Gaze Tracking in First Person Shooting Game (1 인칭 슈팅 게임에서 눈동자 시선 추적에 의한 3차원 화면 조정)

  • In this paper, we propose the method of manipulating the gaze direction of 3D FPS game's character by using eye gaze detection from the successive images captured by USB camera, which is attached beneath HMD. The proposed method is composed of 3 parts. In the first fart, we detect user's pupil center by real-time image processing algorithm from the successive input images. In the second part of calibration, the geometric relationship is determined between the monitor gazing position and the detected eye position gazing at the monitor position. In the last fart, the final gaze position on the HMB monitor is tracked and the 3D view in game is control]ed by the gaze position based on the calibration information. Experimental results show that our method can be used for the handicapped game player who cannot use his (or her) hand. Also, it can increase the interest and immersion by synchronizing the gaze direction of game player and that of game character.

A New Intermediate View Reconstruction using Adaptive Disparity Estimation Scheme (적응적 변이추정 기법을 이용한 새로운 중간시점영상합성)

  • In this paper, a new intermediate view reconstruction technique by using a disparity estimation method based-on the adaptive matching window size is proposed. In the proposed method, once the feature values are extracted from the input stereo image, then the matching window size for the intermediate view reconstruction is adaptively selected in accordance with the magnitude of this feature values. That is, coarse matching is performed in the region having smaller feature values while accurate matching is carried out in the region having larger feature values by comparing with the predetermined threshold value. Accordingly, this new approach is not only able to reduce the mismatching probability of the disparity vector mostly happened in the accurate disparity estimation with a small matching window size, but is also able to reduce the blocking effect occurred in the disparity estimation with a large matching window size. Some experimental results on the 'Parts' and 'Piano' images show that the proposed method improves the PSNR about 2.32∼4.16dB and reduces the execution time to about 39.34∼65.58% than those of the conventional matching methods.

  • In this paper a Super Multi-view display method using a pinhole array with full parallax was proposed. The proposed method was simulated and its parameters analyzed. Also, the distribution and irradiance of light through each pinhole on the retina receiver, according to the change of crystalline lens focal length, were found by simulation. As a result, an image free of blurring was obtained while the crystalline lens focused on the depth plane of the three-dimensional image created by the imaging lens.
