The Effectiveness of Streaming Video with Web Based Text in Online Course: Comparative Study on Three Types of Online Instruction for Korean College Students

  • This study is to identify whether three types of online instruction (text-based, video-based, and video-based instruction without text) and age category have a different influence on students' comprehension and motivation. Online students were randomly assigned to one of six groups, and they attended two-week online lectures via Course Management System. The comprehension test and the short form of IMMS were implemented when 114 participants accomplished two-week online lectures. The results revealed that using instructional video in online instruction is more effective instructional medium than text only in order to promote learner's motivation. Besides, older adults aged 41-60 are significantly different from younger adults (21-40 years old) in terms of students' comprehension. Furthermore, three types of online instructions are likely to be influenced by age category.

Study of Teachers' Language of Instruction Based on a Video of the Algebra Classroom - such as Two Cases of "The Multiplication and Division of the Fractions"

  • By using the recording and quantitative analysis of two videos about "The multiplication and division of the Fractions" and the "Flanders Interaction Analysis System," we classified the teachers' language of instruction in algebra classroom and also analysis the language of instruction in the different teaching process. The results after the analysis as follows: (1) The proportion of time was taken in teachers' language of instruction is high and vary in types, most of the teachers' language is teachers' question; (2) In the different teaching process, the proportion of time was taken in teachers' language of instruction is different; (3) Teachers attached importance to explain the example and had the similar teaching strategy, but the teachers' language is different; (4) In the practice process, teachers placed importance on exploring the tough question and its teaching strategies are different. The teachers' questions are the main teachers' language of instruction.

수학 교과에서의 교과 역량을 반영한 수업비평문 개발 연구 (The Development of the Items on Class Critiques Involving the Mathematical Competencies)

  • This study is to establish the items on class critiques based on the mathematical competencies according to the mathematics curriculum revised in 2015. Namely, this study deals with the items on how pre-service or in-service teachers understand and comment on mathematics instruction on their own instruction or peers' instruction. To accomplish this, first of all the draft items on instructional reviews was developed by researchers of this study on the basis of the previous study(Hwang, 2018). In order to revise and develop the draft items, the experimental study was executed. The experimental study was done by the subject of 11 groups who are undergraduate students in the educational college of C University. The subject was supposed to watch an in-service middle school mathematics teacher's excellent instruction(study) video and to comment the instruction video on the draft items on class critiques. While analyzing the comments of the subject, the revised items on the class critiques were to be develop. Based on this study, from now on, the final and ideal items on the class critiques would be establish to reflect and comment teachers' instruction.

Design of Vector Register Architecture in DSP Processor for Efficient Multimedia Processing

  • In this paper, we present an efficient instruction set architecture using vector register file hardware to accelerate operation of general matrix-vector operations in DSP microprocessor. The technique enables in-situ row-access as well as column access to the register files. It can reduce the number of memory access significantly. The technique is especially useful for block-based video signal processing kernels such as FFT/IFFT, DCT/IDCT, and two-dimensional filtering. We have applied the new instruction set architecture to in-loop deblocking filter processing in H.264 decoder. Performance comparisons show that the required load/store operations for the in-loop deblocking filter can be reduced about 42%. The architecture would improve the processing speed, and code density in DSP microprocessor especially for video signal processing substantially.

  • 본 논문의 주요 목표는 고성능 SVP(Stack-based Video Processor)를 설계하는 것이다. SVP는 과거에 제안된 스택 머신과 영상 프로세서의 최적의 측면만을 선택함으로써 더 좋은 구조를 갖도록 하는 포괄적인 구조이다. 본 구조는 객체 지향형 프로그램의 소규모의 많은 서브루틴을 가지고 있기 때문에 스택 버퍼를 갖는 준범용 S-RISC(Stack-based Reduced Instruction Set Comuter)를 이용하여 객체 지향형 영상 데이터를 처리한다. 그리고 MPEG-4의 반화소 단위 처리와 고급 모드 움직임 보상, 움직임 예측, SA-DCT(Shape Adaptive-Discrete Cosine Transform)가 가능하며, 절대값기, 반감기를 가지고 있어서 부호화하기로 확장할 수 있도록 하였다. SVP는 0.6㎛ 3-메탈 계층 CMOS 표준 셀 기준을 이용하여 설계되었으며, 110K 로직 게이트와 12Kbit SRAM 내부 버퍼로 이루어지고 50 MHz의 동작 속도를 가진다 . MPEG-4의 VLBL(Very Low Bitrate Video) 최대 전송율인 QCIF 15fps(frame per second)로 영상 재생 알고리즘을 수행한다.

  • 웹기반 교육은 학습자 중심의 학습과 협동학습을 촉진시킬 수 있는 새로운 수업도구로서 기존의 획일화된 교수-학습 방식에서 탈피하여 새로운 교수모형에 대한 연구로 발전되고 있다. 강력한 웹 저작도구중 하나인 플래시를 사용하면 컴퓨터 그래픽, 애니메이션과 사운드 그리고 동영상 등의 활용으로 학습의 효과를 극대화 시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 플래시를 사용한 교육 자료의 개발 및 배포와 효율적인 웹기반 수업에 대하여 고찰하고자 한다.

현장 우수 수업 사례에 대한 Flanders 언어상호작용 분석 연구 (A Case Study on Analysis of Field Excellent Class through Flanders Interaction System)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve teachers' instruction and to identify the characteristics of interaction between teachers and children. Field excellent class instructions, which were known as the best lectures from the competition of an instruction contest in Busan, were video recorded and openly released on the internet. A teacher who won a prize for his excellent teaching at the contest demonstrated a Korean subject class on sixth grade elementary school curriculum. His instruction was analyzed by two coders based on the frame of Flanders' language interaction system. Inter-coder reliability was .967 from Scott's coefficient. From the results of the Flanders index, the major and minor instruction sequences were 4-8-2-5 and 6-0-5-4, and the teacher tended to interact with students by accepting feeling and ideas. These results could provide effective cues and information on how to to improve instruction.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze of how the elementary school teachers lead their classes of a science laboratory instruction and an engineering laboratory instruction in a science subject class. For this study, science laboratory and engineering laboratory lessons were selected and for each science and engineering laboratory lesson, five elementary school teachers were video-recorded of their lessons. The science and engineering laboratory lessons were analyzed by utilizing processes of the science model and the engineering model based on Schauble et al. (1991). The results of these studies are as follows: In science laboratory instruction, some participants didn't distinguish the difference between the science laboratory goal and the engineering laboratory goal. All of participants used search and end strategy of engineering laboratory for science laboratory lesson. In engineering laboratory instruction, all of participants guided to students engineering laboratory goal and used inferences and search strategy of engineering laboratory. However they didn't use the trial and error strategy or redesign which can be an essential element in engineering and design process. Educational implications are discussed.

NCS Course Design and Result Analysis of Class Application

  • In this paper, I had studied to focus on the NCS(National Competency Standard) course in the development process of NCS-based curriculum and designed and developed 'Digital Color Correction' course. 'Digital Color Correction' course was come up with in process of development of NCS-based curriculum in a department of university that aims to educate video-broadcasting experts who lead the advanced digital age. The course developed in this paper follows criteria of NCS and is designed to step in course-profile, instruction and evaluation. Also I made an analysis of learning effects after applying to class. And I compared and analyzed NCS-class and non NCS-class. As a result of comparison, NCS-class is better than non NCS-class in student attitude for learning and evaluation method.

과학 수업 비디오에 기초한 반성 활동을 통한 초등 예비교사의 전문적 시각의 변화 (Change of Pre-Service Elementary Teachers' Professional Visions through Video-Based Reflection on Science Classroom)

  • 이 연구에서는 초등 예비교사 8명을 대상으로 과학 수업 비디오에 기초한 개인적, 협동적 반성 활동이 예비교사의 전문적 시각을 어떻게 변화시키는지 그 과정을 탐색하였다. 본 연구의 데이터로는 예비교사와의 개별 면담 녹음 자료, 예비교사의 과학 수업 지도안, 과학수업 비디오, 연구자가 수업 참관 시 작성한 현장 노트, 연구 일지, 예비교사가 작성한 이벤트 맵 등이 활용되었다. 예비교사의 전문적 시각은 '선택적 주목'과 '교육적 추론'의 두 가지 범주로 분석하였다. 선택적 주목은 1) 수업 운영과 통제, 2) 교사의 지도, 3) 학생의 사고와 학습 4) 내용 지식 5) 평가의 다섯 측면으로 구분하였고 교육적 추론수준은 증거의 수, 증거의 영역, 유형에 따라 6 수준으로 구분하였다. 연구 결과 수업 비디오에 기초한 개인적 반성은 '수업 운영과 통제'에 대한 주목을 줄이고 '교사의 지도'에 대해 좀 더 주목하도록 하는 효과가 있었다. '학생의 사고나 학습'에 대한 주목을 증진시키기 위해서는 수업 비디오에 대한 개인적 반성 활동만으로는 그 효과가 충분하지 않고 협동적 반성 활동이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 교육적 추론수준은 개인적 반성과 협동적 반성을 거치며 점진적으로 증가하였다. 학생의 사고나 학습에 대한 주장에서 하나의 증거보다는 여러 증거를 사용하게 되었고 증거의 영역과 유형도 좀 더 다양해졌다. 그러나 증거 형태는 직접적인 관찰에 의한 것이 대부분이었고, 교육이론에 기초한 증거는 거의 나타나지 않았다. 교사교육 과정에서 수업 비디오의 활용에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.
