  • We can define the procedure of Authoring that it makes area cord and the reproduction prevent menu programmed into MPEG II video stream , Audio which is AC-3 audio stream and subtitle under its own category. And it makes process an attribute, an order and an operation, gives the last disk image, Which is DVD(digital versatile disc). There are various process of Authoring tools in the market so that authoring tools can enable, encourage, and assist users ('authors') in the selection of tools that produce simple title, video production and editing suites. In this paper, we will compare and analyze authoring process in which image and sound are authorized into DVD with IEEE 1394port between Window system using generally with Desktop PC and the Macintosh that is based on OSX.

A Mobile-aware Adaptive Rate Control Scheme for Improving the User Perceived QoS of Multimedia Streaming Services in Wireless Broadband Networks

  • Recently, due to the prevalence of various mobile devices and wireless broadband networks, there has been a significant increase in interest and demand for multimedia streaming services such as the mobile IPTV. In such a wireless broadband network, transmitting a continuous stream of multimedia data is difficult to achieve due to mobile stations (MSs) movement. Providing Quality of Service (QoS) for multimedia video streaming applications requires the server and/or client to be network-aware and adaptive. Therefore, in order to deploy a mobile IPTV service in wireless broadband networks, offering users efficient wireless resource utilization and seamlessly offering user perceived QoS are important issues. In this paper, we propose a new adaptive streaming scheme, called MARC (Mobile-aware Adaptive Rate Control), which adjusts the quality of bit-stream and transmission rate of video streaming based on the wireless channel status and network status. The proposed scheme can control the rate of multimedia streaming to be suitable for the wireless channel status by using awareness information of the wireless channel quality and the mobile station location. The proposed scheme can provide a seamless multimedia playback service in wireless broadband networks in addition to improving the QoS of multimedia streaming services. The proposed MARC scheme alleviates the discontinuity of multimedia playback and allocates a suitable client buffer to the wireless broadband network. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed scheme.

  • 다시점 비디오는 사용자들에게 자유로운 시점 선택 및 넓은 시점에서의 입체감을 제공하지만, 시점의 증가에 따른 데이터 량의 증가가 불가피하다. 이에 따라 최근 MPEG 에서는 재생되는 시점 수 보다 적은 수의 다시점 비디오와 그에 대응하는 깊이 영상 및 관련 파라미터를 메타데이터 형태로 제공하는 다시점 및 깊이 영상 부호화(MVD: Multiview plus Depth)에 대한 표준화를 진행하고 있다. 본 논문은 MVD 가 방송망에서 서비스되는 시나리오를 가정하여 다시점 비디오와 그에 대응하는 깊이 영상을 MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream)로 전송하기 위한 기법을 제시한다. 제안한 기법은 기존의 단일 영상 및 깊이 영상을 전송하기 위한 부가비디오스트림 서술자(Auxiliary Video Stream Descriptor) 및 MPEG-C Part 3 표준을 확장하여 다시점 비디오와 그에 대응하는 깊이 영상간의 매핑 정보 및 각 시점의 깊이 파라미터를 제공할 수 있다.

  • Real-time communication and diversification of multimedia application services using high-capacity data over the Internet demand high speed connection, and real-time and high-speed access internet service such as multimedia make Internet traffic increase rapidly. Meanwhile, QoS (Quality of Service) of internet service is not satisfied. In this situation, ISP (Internet Service Provider) has been required to improve service quality and extend network according to the user's needs. This request includes issue of extending network focused on increasing router and the number of routing table as well as simply extending bandwidth.

  • A network neutrality is the concept that ISP assures users non-discrimination, interconnection, accessibility for ensuring users without control or interference of equal services in the network. But today a network traffic is growing rapidly in sensitive buffering services as P2P service diffusion and mass video stream service. To manage this problem, ISP violates a net neutrality by control, change and interfere with service. And then the debate about net neutrality is happening. Therefore in this paper, we compare and analyze net neutrality principles, concepts, and legislative policy in the native and foreign. Based on this, we suggested the issues and improvement plan of net neutrality guard line.

  • The article discusses the dead reckoning of the traveled path based on the analysis of the video data stream coming from the optoelectronic surveillance devices; the use of relief data makes it possible to partially compensate for the shortcomings of the first method. Using the overlap of the photo-video data stream, the terrain is restored. Comparison with a digital terrain model allows the location of the aircraft to be determined; the use of digital images of the terrain also allows you to determine the coordinates of the location and orientation by comparing the current view information. This method provides high accuracy in determining the absolute coordinates even in the absence of relief. It also allows you to find the absolute position of the camera, even when its approximate coordinates are not known at all.

Design of Object-based Video CODEC for the Mobile Video Telephony Using Hybrid Transform (모바일 영상통화 환경에 적합한 하이브리드 변환을 이용한 객체 기반 비디오 코덱 설계)

  • Recently, many people can easily contact video telephony service through the mobile terminal owing to the commercialization of 3G communication technology. However, the quality of the serviced video telephony has been not good yet by the actual mobile restrictions. For solving quality problems, this paper presents the design of the object-based video CODEC using hybrid transform in mobile video telephony. The proposed design firstly segment each frame into a significant object and an insignificant object. The proposed design is to improve the quality of a significant object by limiting the bit rate of a insignificant object. Thus, we compress a significant object with high quality and low compression ratio and compress an insignificant object with low quality and high compression ratio. Furthermore, we control the bit rate of the video stream in the limited bandwidth by adjusting the compression ratio of each object. From experimental results, we confirmed that our method has more higher quality than methods in the conventional CODECs at the significant region on the same bit rate.

  • The objective of this paper lies in the design and implementation of a home gateway supporting live video streaming which flows from the Non-SIP video camera in home to the mobile SIP device outside. We developed the home gateway on the OSGi framework and employed the RTC technology which embeds an SIP stack so that the multimedia session can be established from the home device to the mobile user outside. And also we developed an RTC bundle to manage the session and a virtual capture device driver to read the video stream from the Non-SIP video camera in the home network, and installed them on the home gateway. Finally, we constructed the experimental environment that has the windows messenger as the SIP mobile device and an AXIS 2100 UPnP video camera as a video source, and then tested if the session establishment to the mobile user from the camera and live video streaming work well between them.

  • In this paper, a method of MPEG-2 Transport Stream (TS) multiplexing for Ultra HDTV (UHDTV) and its design and implementation as a SW tool is described. In practice, UHD video may be divided into several HD videos and each video is encoded in parallel. Therefore, it is necessary to synchronize and multiplex multiple bitstreams encoding each HD video for transmitting and storing UHD video. In this paper, it is assumed that 4 HD videos partitioning a UHD spatially are encoded as H.264/AVC and two 5.0 channel audios are encoded by AC-3. Therefore, 4 H.264/AVC elementary streams (ESs) and 2 AC-3 ESs is mainly considered in the TS multiplexing of UHD. For the carriage of H.264/AVC and AC-3 over MPEG-2 TS, PES packetization and TS multiplexing are designed and implemented based on the extended specification of the MPEG-2 Systems and ATSC (Digital audio compressed standard), respectively. The implemented UHD TS multiplexing tool emulates real time HW operation in the time unit corresponding to the duration of one TS packet transmission in a given TS rate. In particular, in order to satisfy the timing model, the buffers defined in the TS System Target Decoder (T-STD) are monitored and their statuses are considered in the scheduling of TS multiplexing. For UHD multiplexing, two kinds of multiplexing structures, which are UHD re-multiplexing and UHD program multiplexing, are implemented and their strength and weakness are investigated. The developed UHD TS multiplexing tool is tested and verified in terms of the syntax and semantics conformance and functionalities by using a commercial analyzer and real-time presentation tools.

  • In this paper, we defined necessary operations and functional blocks of a multiplexer for 3-D video systems and present our multiplexer design. We adopted the ITU-T's recommendation(H.222.0) to define the operations and functions of the multiplexer and explained the data structures and details of the design for multiview image processing. The data structure of TS(Transport Stream) and PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) in ITU-T Recommendation H.222.0 does not fit our multiview image processing system, because this recommendation is fur wide scope of transmission of non-telephone signals. Therefore, we modified these TS and PES stream structures. The TS is modified to DSS(3D System Stream) and PES is modified to SPDU(DSS Program Data Unit). We constructed the multiplexer through these modified DSS and SPDU. The number of multiview image channels is nine, and the image class employed is MPEG-2 SD(Standard Definition) level which requires a bandwidth of 2∼6 Mbps. The required clock speed should be faster than 54(= 6 ${\times}$ 9)㎒ which is the outer interface clock speed. The inside part of the multiplexer requires a clock speed of only 1/8 of 54㎒, since the inside part of the multiplexer operates by the unit of byte. we used ALTERA Quartus II and the FPGA verification for the simulation.
