  • We propose a system that allows three dimensional manipulation of face in video. The 3D face manipulation of the proposed system overlays the 3D face model with the user 's manipulation on the face region of the video frame, and it allows 3D manipulation of the video in real time unlike existing applications or methods. To achieve this feature, first, the 3D morphable face model is registered with the image. At the same time, user's manipulation is applied to the registered model. Finally, the frame image mapped to the model as texture, and the texture-mapped and deformed model is rendered. Since this process requires lots of operations, parallel processing is adopted for real-time processing; the system is divided into modules according to functionalities, and each module runs in parallel on each thread. Experimental results show that specific parts of the face in video can be manipulated in real time.

  • The type of crimes is diverse and the number of crimes is increasing as society changes. This phenomenon is showing a higher trend in places with higher population density. Accordingly, many organizations install CCTV to reduce crime and provide key evidence of crime. Nevertheless, it is still weak to deal with crimes such as video manipulation targeting CCTV. Although blockchain-based CCTV image integrity techniques are applied to prevent manipulation, they only guarantee the manipulation integrity of the entire video and can't explain how certain sections of the video has been manipulated. Therefore, in this research, we propose a system for supporting explainable CCTV video integrity based on a block chain.

  • This paper is concerned with realistic mainpulation of content in video sequences. Manipulation of content in video sequences is one of the content-based functionalities for MPEG-4 Visual standard. We present an approach to synthesizing video sequences by using the intermediate outputs of three-dimensional (3D) motion and depth analysis. For concreteness, we focus on video showing 3D motion of an observer relative to a scene containing planar runways (or roads). We first present a simple runway (or road) model. Then, we describe a method of identifying the runway (or road) boundary in the image using the Point of Heading Direction (PHD) which is defined as the image of, the ray along which a camera moves. The 3D motion of the camera is obtained from one of the existing 3D analysis methods. Then, a video sequence containing a runway is manipulated by (i) coloring the scene part above a vanishing line, say blue, to show sky, (ii) filling in the occluded scene parts, and (iii) overlaying the identified runway edges and placing yellow disks in them, simulating lights. Experimental results for a real video sequence are presented.

  • Palmprint has become a popular biometric modality; however, palmprint recognition has not been conducted in video media. Video palmprint recognition (VPR) has some advantages that are absent in image palmprint recognition. In VPR, the registration and recognition can be automatically implemented without users' manual manipulation. A good-quality image can be selected from the video frames or generated from the fusion of multiple video frames. VPR in contactless mode overcomes several problems caused by contact mode; however, contactless mode, especially mobile mode, encounters with several revere challenges. Double-line-single-point (DLSP) assisted placement technique can overcome the challenges as well as effectively reduce the localization error and computation complexity. This paper modifies DLSP technique to reduce the invalid area in the frames. In addition, the valid frames, in which users place their hands correctly, are selected according to finger gap judgement, and then some key frames, which have good quality, are selected from the valid frames as the gallery samples that are matched with the query samples for authentication decision. The VPR algorithm is conducted on the system designed and developed on mobile device.

  • In this paper, we investigate the effect of asynchronous haptic and video feedback on the performance of teleoperation. To analyze the effect, a tele-manipulation experiment is specially designed, which operator moves square objects from one place to another place by using master/slave telerobotic system. Task completion time and total number of falling of the object are used for evaluating the performance. Subjective study was conducted with 10 subjects in 16 different combinations of video and haptic feedback while participants didn't have any prior information about the amount of each delay. Initially we assume that synchronized haptic and video feedback would give best performance. However as a result, we found that the accuracy was increased when haptic and video feedback was synchronized, and the completion time was decreased when one of the feedback (either haptic or video) was decreased. Another interesting fact that we found in this experiment is that it showed even better accuracy when haptic information arrives little bit earlier than video information, than the case when those are synchronized.

  • In the N-Screen environment, HTML5 standard-based content development is inevitable. However, it is still passive the development of HTML5 manipulation type contents due to high development cost and insufficient infrastructure. Therefor we propose an efficient contents development model by convergence multimedia contents (such as video and audio) with HTML5 documents that can implement dynamic manipulation for user interaction. The proposed model is designed to divide the multimedia and iframe areas in the HTML5 layout page included the player for integrated contents control. Interactive HTML5 documents are divided into screen units and provided through iframe. The integrated control player composed based on the HTML5

  • Interoperability and inter-working in the various network and media environment with different technology background is very important to enlarge the opportunity of service access and to increase the competitive power of service. The ITU-T and advanced counties are planning ahead for provision of GII enabling user to access advanced global communication services supporting multimedia communication applications, embracing all modes of information. In this paper, we especially forced the heterogeneity of end user applications for multimedia networking. The heterogeneity has several technical aspects, like different medium access methods, heterogeneous coding algorithms for audio-visual data and so on. Among these elements, we have been itemized bit rate shaping algorithm on the compressed moving video. Previous manipulations of video has been done on the uncompressed signal domain. That is, compressed video should be converted to linear PCM signal. To do such a procedures, we should decode, manipulate and then encode the video to compressed signal once again. The traditional approach for processing the video signa1 has several critical weak points, requiring complexity to implement, degradation of image quality and large processing delay. The bit rate shaping algorithm proposed in this paper process the manipulation of moving video on the completely compressed domain to cope with above deficit. With this algorithms. we could realized efficient video bit rate shaping and the result of software simulation shows that this method has significant advantage than that of pixel oriented algorithms.

  • Recently, the intelligent video surveillance technology has become able to provide various services such as predictive surveillance that have not been provided previously. Securing the security of the intelligent video surveillance is essential, and malicious manipulation of the original CCTV video data can lead to serious social problems. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed an intelligent video surveillance environment based on blockchain. The proposed scheme guarantees the integrity of the CCTV image data and protects the ROI privacy through the edge blockchain, so there is no privacy exposure of the object. In addition, it is effective because it is possible to increase the transmission efficiency and reduce storage by enabling video deduplication.

  • In order to develop a cell based robot, we present a micro-mechanical force measurement system for the biological muscle actuators, which utilize glucose as a power source. The proposed measurement system is composed of a micro-manipulator, a force transducer with a glass probe, a signal processor, an inverted microscope and video recording system. Using this measurement system, the contractile force and frequency of the cardiac myocytes were measured in real time and the magnitudes of the contractile force of each cardiac myocyte under different conditions were compared. From the quantitative experimental results, we could estimate that the force of cardiac myocytes is about $20\sim40{\mu}N$, and show that there are differences between the control cells and the micro-patterned cells.

  • The method of manipulation by striking a part and letting it slide until it comes to rest, has been very little studied. However, the manipulation method is not uncommon in our daily lives. We analyze the dynamic behavior of a rigid polygonal part being striked and sliding on a horizontal surface under the action of fiction. There are two parts in this problem; one is the impact problem, and the other is the sliding problem. We characterize the impact and sliding dynamics with friction for polygonal parts, and present the possibility of reverse calculation for motion planning of striking operations. Using a high speed video camera, the computer simulation results are experimentally verified.
