분산 컴퓨팅 기술의 발전과 네트워크의 고성능화는 대용량의 멀티미디어 데이터를 송.수신하여 처리할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 실시간 및 이기종간의 데이터 전송에는 네트워크 전송지연과 프로그램 구현의 어려움 등과 같이 극복해야 하는 문제점들이 많이 있다. 이 문제들을 해결하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 객체지향형 분산처리 환경 하에서 OMG가 제시한 멀티미디어 서비스 설계를 확장하는 방안을 제시한다. 이를 위해서 CORBA와 JMF lava Media API 기반으로 Smart Explorer라고 불리는 효율적인 실시간 오디오/비디오 멀티미디어 소프트웨어 기반 구조를 제시하고 있다. 제어 데이터와 미디어 데이터의 전송 경로를 분리하고 효율적인 실시간 오디오/비디오 전송을 위해서 RTP/RTCP 프로토콜을 사용한다. 또한 제안하는 소프트웨어 기반 구조를 이용하여 오디오/비디오 스트림 시스템을 분산 객체 환경에 맞게 구현한 결과도 제시한다. 향후 이 시스템은 방송, 원격 교육, 화상회의 등 실시간 통신 소프트웨어에 응용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A medical teleconferencing and medical image transmision system has been developed for diagnosis of the medical images between the medical doctors who are far away. The medical teleconferencing system transmits the voice and image of the doctors using the video and audio capture boards. The medical image transmission system software uses the medical image standard DICOM 3.0 for the future expansibility and the open system interconectivity. The medical images usually use CR images.

The increasing ubiquity of wireless networks and decreasing cost of hardware is fueling a proliferation of mobile devices. These devices are enabling a new revolution in mobile technology, not only running locally on them, but running on cloud as a service as well. From web browsing, email, or video conferencing, presentations to movie and music entertainment or games, multimedia applications, mobile cloud enables providing such diverse applications. Many technologies have been designed to address the limited hardware and performance in thin client PC. However, with the assorted network and graphic condition, those proposed technologies is obligated to alter aim to adapt mobile cloud. In this paper, we provide a survey of client technology on a Server that can be sufficed the requirements of Mobile Cloud. We also analyze each technology and classify with its individual difficulties and challenges.

지난 수십 년간 인터넷망은 세계 도처를 연결하면서 인터넷 사용자의 수를 기하급수적으로 늘렸으며, 웹에서부터 P2P에 이르는 다양한 응용들을 지원하는 글로벌 인프라로 자리 메김 하였다. 기존 인터넷의 철학은 응용 서비스간의 품질 구분이 없이 공정히 사용하자는 철학에 근거해 인터넷 서비스 제공자의 접속료만 지불하고 사용하여 왔으며 인터넷에 초보 사용자에서부터 고급 사용자에 이르기까지 사용자의 능력에 맞게 다양한 정보를 제공하는 장이 되어왔었다. 이는 기존 인터넷 기반 서비스들이 품질에 차등적으로 요금이 지불되는 형태가 아니었기 때문에 가능했으나 최근 몇 년간은 다수의 서비스 제공자들이 인터넷 인프라의 고도화를 통해 IPTV, VoIP, Video Conferencing과 같은 통신, 방송 및 유선 무선 통합 서비스를 품질 차등적으로 제공하는 비즈니스 환경으로 변화를 시도 중에 있다. 이러한 큰 변화의 중심에는 해결해야 되는 다양한 기술적인 문제들이 남아 있으며, 이중 QoS 이슈는 문제의 핵심이다. QoS는 트랙픽 관리, 제어 및 모니터링 분야로 대별되는 본고에서는 이에 대한 해결책으로 제안 되고 있는 다양한 기술 및 표준에 대한 동향을 소개한다.

In this study, remote articulation training system which connects the hearing disabled trainee and the speech therapist via B-ISDN is introduced. The hearing disabled does not have the hearing feedback of his own pronuciation, and the chance of watching his speech organs movement trajectory will offer him the self-training of articulation. So the system has two purposes of self articulation training and trainer's on-line checking in remote place. We estimate the vocal tract articultory movements from the speech signal using inverse modelling and display the movement trajectoy on the sideview of human face graphically. The trajectories of trainees articulation is displayed along with the reference trajectories, so the trainee can control his articulating to make the two trajectories overlapped. For on-line communication and ckecking training record the system has the function of video conferencing and tranferring articulatory data.

그룹 통신은 인터넷을 통해 급속도로 발전 중이며, 그룹통신으로는 화상회의, 인스턴트 메시지, 데스크 탑 공유, 다양한 e-커머스등과 같은 응용프로그램들이 있다. 안전한 그룹통신을 위해서 그룹 키를 생성하여 통신 메시지를 암호화하여 교환함으로써 그룹통신의 기밀성을 보장할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 그룹 키를 보다 안전하면서 효율적으로 생성하여 안전한 그룹통신에 기여하는데 그 목적이 있다.

최근 들어 인터넷은 화상회의, 인터넷방송, 네트워크게임 등과 같은 광대역, 멀티미디어 서비스가 요구되는 멀티캐스트 서비스로 발전되고 있다. 이러한 광대역의 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 많은 대역폭이 요구되므로 현재 망의 대안으로 WDM 방송망이 대두되고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서 WDM 방송망 구조에서 멀티캐스트 서비스를 제공하기 위한 스케줄링 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 기존의 스케줄링 알고리즘에 비해 적은 수의 서브 그룹수와 짧은 지연시간을 보임을 확인하였다.

A remote maintenance system, which enables an engineer to check and treat machines installed at remote site with the help of data communication, has been developed. The maintenance of machines with the traveling of engineers is much costly in time and economically. With the developed system, the engineer at the remote site can diagnose malfunctioning machines. The remote maintenance system is composed of video conferencing system, camera control system and signal aquisition system. The developed system has been tested on the 100Mbps ATM network to evaluate its ability to diagnose remote machines.

One of the benefits of the internet-assisted instruction is that it can improve L2 Learners' motivation to express themselves in English. The purpose of this paper is to investigate an effective approach to British-American fiction learning in Korean universities, which can emphasize communicative strategies drawing on video-conferencing system, a chat system(CUSeeMe), and an e-mail system. Students are passive participants who cannot assert their creativity in the traditional teaching method of British-American fiction, which mainly relies upon reading and translation far from literature lessons. In CCDL(Cross-cultural distance learning) class, students can play active roles in asserting their own ideas and assuming considerable responsibility for making a presentation in English. A professor can play a role as a coordinator in supporting the students' activities and in winding up the class. The main significance of this article lies in providing a paradigm for CCDL class beyond the limitation of the traditional teaching method of British-American fiction in Korea and futhermore in exploring the eclectic integration of the traditional one and CCDL.

본 논문에서는 언제 어디서나 대학의 인적 물적 지적 정보를 효율적으로 접근할 수 있고, 인터넷폰(VoIP), 이메일, 통합메세징, 인스턴트메시징, 웹컨퍼런싱, 화상회의 등의 다양한 커뮤니케이션 도구를 통해 통신 협업할 수 있는 대학의 유비쿼터스 종합정보시스템(u-종합정보시스템)을 최소한의 비용으로 효과적으로 구축하기 위한 시스템의 개발방법과 설계에 관해 연구하였다.
