Platelet adhesion onto elastic polymeric biomaterials was tested in vitro by perfusing human whole blood at a shear rate of 100 sec$\^$-1/ for possible verification of mechanisms of initial platelet adhesion perfusion of blood on the polymeric substrates was performed after treatments either with or without pre-adsorption of 1% blood plasma, and either with or without residence of the protein-preadsorbed substrate in phosphate buffered solution. The surfaces employed were elastic polymers such as poly(ether urethane urea), poly(ether urethane), silicone urethane copolymer, silicone rubber and poly(ether urethane) with the anti-calcifying agent hydroxyethane bisphosphate. Each polymer surface treated was exposed in vitro to the dynamic, heparinized whole blood perfused for upto 6 min and the surface area of platelets initially adhered was measured by employing in situ epifluorescence video microscopy. The blood perfusion was performed on the surfaces treated at the following three different conditions: directly on the bare surfaces, after protein pre-adsorption and after residence in buffer for 3 days of the surfaces protein pre-adsorbed for 2 h. The effects of blood plasma pre-adsorption on the initial platelet adhesion was surface-dependent. The amount of the adsorbed fibrinogen and the surface coverage area of the adhered platelets were dependent on the surface conditions whether substrates were bare surfaces or protein pre-adsorbed ones. To test an effect of possible morphological (re)orientations of the adsorbed proteins on the initial platelet adhesion, the polymeric substrate pre-adsorbed with 1% blood plasma was immersed in phosphate buffered solution for 3 days and then exposed to physiological blood perfusion. The surface area of the platelets adhered on these surfaces was significantly different from that of the surfaces treated with protein pre-adsorption only. These results indicated that platelet adhesion was dependent on the surface property itself and pre-treatment conditions such as blood perfusion without any pre-adsorption of proteins, and blood perfusion either after protein pre-adsorption or after subsequent substrate residence in buffer of the substrate pre-adsorbed with proteins. Understanding of these results may guide for better designs of blood-contacting materials based on protein behaviors.

Internet-based social and interactive video applications have become major constituents of the envisaged applications for next-generation multimedia networks. However, inherently dynamic network conditions, together with varying user expectations, pose many challenges for resource allocation mechanisms for such applications. Yet, in addition to addressing these challenges, service providers must also consider how to mitigate their operational costs (e.g., energy costs, equipment costs) while satisfying the end-user quality of service (QoS) expectations. This paper proposes a heuristic solution to the problem, where the energy incurred by the applications, and the monetary costs associated with the service infrastructure, are minimized while simultaneously maximizing the average end-user QoS. We evaluate the performance of the proposed solution in terms of serving probability, i.e., the likelihood of being able to allocate resources to groups of users, the computation time of the resource allocation process, and the adaptability and sensitivity to dynamic network conditions. The proposed method demonstrates improvements in serving probability of up to 27%, in comparison with greedy resource allocation schemes, and a several-orders-of-magnitude reduction in computation time, compared to the linear programming approach, which significantly reduces the service-interrupted user percentage when operating under variable network conditions.
A study was carried out to observe the 1% aqueous safranine solution flow speed in longitudinal and radial directions of softwood Metasequoia glyptostroboides, diffuse-porous wood Anthocephalus cadamba and ring-porouswood Fraxinus rhynchophylla. In radial direction, ray cells and in longitudinal direction, tracheids, vessel and wood fiber were considered for the measurement of liquid penetration speed at less than 12% moisture contents (MC). The length, lumen diameter, pit diameter, end wall pit diameter and the numbers of end wall pits determined for the flow rate. The liquid flow in the those cells was captured via video and the capillary flow rate in the ones were measured. Vessel in hardwood species and tracheids in softwood was found to facilitate prime role in longitudinal penetration. Anatomical features like the length and diameter, end-wall pit numbers of ray parenchyma were found also responsible fluid flow differences. On the other hand, vessel and fiber structure affected the longitudinal flow of liquids. Therefore, the average liquid penetration depth in longitudinal tracheids of Metasequoia glyptostroboides was found the highest among all cells considered in Anthocephalus cadamba and Fraxinus rhynchophylla In radial direction, ray parenchyma of Metasequoia glyptostroboides was found the highest depth and the one of Fraxinus rhynchophylla was the lowest. The solution was penetrated lowest depth in the wood fiber of Fraxinus rhynchophylla. The large vessel of Fraxinus rhynchophylla was found the lowest depth among the vessels. The solutin was penetrated to the wood fiber of Anthocephalus cadamba higher than the one of Fraxinus rhynchophylla.

We believe that existing wire solutions such as HomePNA2.0 using phone lines and HomePlug using power line and wireless solution such as HomeRF are the most promising solutions, because of its cost-effectiveness. However, MAC protocols of these solutions provide only Class of Service(CoS) using priority mechanism like HomePNA and HomePlug or consider only voice among real-time traffics like HomeRF. For these reasons, we perceive the needs of the new MAC protocol which is no new wire solution and provides guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS) for not only voice but also video and audio. In light of this, we present the design and software implementation of a new MAC protocol for Home Networks. Our evaluation results of software implementation verify that proposed MAC protocol can provide low delay, low loss, and low jitter to real-time traffic by reserving bandwidth.
The release of iPhone by Apple in 2009 has changed the life pattern of an individual tremendously. That is, with the emergence of a smart phone, various services including voice/video call, camera, receiving and sending of e-mail, and web browsing have been realized. However, the broader the scope of the use of a smart phone has become, the greater the need for companies to introduce an MDM solution for protecting important documents has become. However the MDM solution may have a problem in that all data such as contacts, pictures, and memos saved in the smart phone can be accessed unlimitedly. For this reason, there is a risk that unwanted violation of privacy may happen to smart phone users. This paper proposed a plan to protect a personal privacy file of smart phone users, which disables access by others except for related smart phone users by enabling a person in charge of security or an MDM manager in a company to have access only to the file which was allowed by smart phone users to be disclosed and by saving non-disclosed files in a virtual disk.

Used optimization techniques as solution for mobile network have been implemented as a reference systems for various applications against fading and signals perturbation, in addition each transition to 5th generation telecommunication standards require a deep studies in order to park an applied instantaneous process. The paper describes a preliminary planning and a careful preparation to update both subscriber radio access network as well as data transmission network this approach conducts to make network resource updates invisible for customers and with minimal costs for mobile operators basically in terms of delay. In addition, network operators transit to mobile networks, multimedia services efficient delivery are considered the challenging application and the most promising for mobile network operators today, this work conduct to optimize video consumption of mobile users which are exponentially increasing. The interference is a complex phenomenon in mobile radio telecommunication system, and a mobile phone can be a source of interference to another one. Actual advances in technology necessitate the need for the complicated software solution that can take several unexpected phenomena in consideration to rise to a level higher than ever. The capability needs today require the use of Drive test which is used to take the performance of network in the field by using a special software called TEMS investigation, it have been implemented as standalone systems for various applications. The paper focuses on considering as the best technical for optimization of mobile networks, analysis and processing of signal, a Drive Test is the method used to take the performance of network in the field by using a special software called TEMS investigation. Most used in the world, this software is reputed to detect and analyze many problems of mobile network between the mobile phone and the transmitter: BTS in case of GSM and Node B for UMTS. An example of that is interference in radio communication. It exists permanently and it degrades considerably the quality of received signal when it exceeds certain levels.

The digital content was supplied quickly with advancement of video compressive technique and the network. Simultaneously illegal copy and diffuse via Internet, it was caused to necessitate the intellectual property right protection of the digital content. With this background, Various standardization groups and content provision enterprises developed the solution for a digital content protection. But the problem which lack interoperability is appeared, cause of independent development among other equipment. To find solution about this, MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) has progressed standardization against IPMP (Intellectual Property Management and Protection) techniques which are possible interoperability. In spite of it, with reason why insufficient function, DMP(Digital Media Project) standard was presented with the alternative against this. In this paper, we analyze MPEG IPMP standards and DMP ToolPack concepts to compare between them, and through these, designed and implemented digital content protection system which possible interoperability.

Recently, collaborative works are increased more and more over the distributed heterogeneous computing environments. The availability of high-speed wide-area networks has also enabled collaborative multimedia applications such as video conferencing, distributed interactive simulation and collaborative visualization. Distributed high performance computing and collaborative multimedia applications, it is extremely important to efficiently perform group communication over a heterogeneous network. Typical group communication patterns are broadcast and Multicast. Heuristic algorithms such as FEF, ECEF, look-ahead make up the message transmission tree for the broadcast and multicast over the distributed heterogeneous systems. But, there are some shortcomings because these select the optimal solution at each step, it may not be reached to the global optimum In this paper, we propose a new heuristic algerian that constructs tree for efficiently collective communication over the previous heterogeneous communication model which has heterogenity in both node and network. The previous heuristic algorithms my result in a locally optimal solution, so we present more reasonable and available criterion for choosing edge. Through the performance evaluation over the various communication cost, improved heuristic algorithm we proposed have less completion time than previous algorithms have, especially less time complexity than look-ahead approach.
A study was carried out to observe the 1% aqueous safranine solution flow speed in longitudinal and radial directions of softwood Thuja orientalis L., diffuse-porous wood Gmelina arborea Roxb., and ring-porous wood Phellodendron amurense Rupr., Longitudinal flow was considered from bottom to top while the radial flow was considered from bark to pith directions. In radial direction, ray cells and in longitudinal direction tracheids, vessel and wood fiber were considered for the measurement of liquid penetration speed at less than 12% moisture contents(MC). The variation of penetration speed for different species was observed and the reasons behind for this variation were explored. The highest radial penetration depth was found in ray parenchyma of T. orientalis but the lowest one was found in ray parenchyma of P. amurense. The average liquid penetration depth in longitudinal trachied of T. orientalis was found the highest among all the other cells. The penetration depth in fiber of G. arborea was found the lowest among the other longitudinal cells. It was found that cell dimension and also meniscus angle of safranine solution with cell walls were the prime factors for the variation of liquid flow speed in wood. Vessel was found to facilitate prime role in longitudinal penetration for hardwood species. The penetration depth in vessel of G. arborea was found highest among all vessels. Anatomical features like ray parenchyma cell length and diameter, end-wall pits number were found also responsible fluid flow differences. Initially liquid penetration speed was high and the nit gradually decreased in an uneven rate. Liquid flow was captured via video and the penetration depths in those cells were measured. It was found that even in presence of abundant rays in hardwood species, penetration depth of liquid in radial direction of softwood species was found high. Herein the ray length, lumen area, end wall pit diameter determined the radial permeability. On the other hand, vessel and fiber structure affected the longitudinal flow of liquids. Following a go-stop-go cycle, the penetration speed of a liquid decreased over time.
