Damage Value Calculation of Fuel Tank Considering Modal Characteristics (모달특성을 고려한 Fuel Tank의 손상도 계산)

  • The vehicle system is exposed to random source in service. Therefore, it is important to consider dynamic effect of the system. But, fatigue analysis is traditionally performed by using time signal of loading. To obtain dynamic effect of resonance, we carried out resonance durability analysis with frequency response and the dynamic load on frequency domain. The study shows that the damage considering resonant frequency of fuel tank system can be effectively estimated.

  • We have concentrated on the performance improvement of each part for durability, safety and cost of high pressure storage system for fuel cell vehicle so far. But for the mass production of fuel cell vehicle, it is necessary to evaluate durability and safety in system module. We built the standard to evaluate vibration and collision safety of high pressure storage system for fuel cell vehicle, and could verify reliability of high pressure storage system.

  • The automotive seat appropriately absorbs the vibrations or shocks transmitted through a vehicle when it is in operation so as to provide a comfortable ride for passengers. In this study, the structural strength and durability of each model were investigated using structural analysis. The natural and critical frequencies at the seat were analyzed through vibration analysis. Through the results of this study on automotive seat frame models, the durability against the load and vibration is shown to be dependent on the configuration of the model.

  • In this paper, the finite element analysis model of the mult-axial wheel durability test configuration is created using SAMCEF. Mooney-Rivlin 2nd model is applied to the tire model, and the variation of the air pressure inside the tire is considered. Vertical load, lateral load and camber angle are applied to the simulation model. The tire rotates because of the friction contact with a drum, and reaches its maximum speed of 60 km/h. The dynamics stress results of the simulation and experiment are compared, and the reliability of the simulation model is verified.

  • This is traffic noise reducing technology with higher porosity and durability by using small aggregate in upper layer and big aggregate in lower layer utilizing RSBS modifier. We can reduce average 9dB(A) of traffic noise compare to normal pavement by double layer structure with higher durability using small gap over bigger gap. Also, it increases a porosity more than 22% with more durability by RSBS modifier.

Durability of Corrugated Fiberboard Container for Fruit and Vegetables by Vibration Fatigue at Simulated Transportation Environment (모의 수송 환경에서의 청과물 골판지 상자의 진동 피로에 따른 내구성)

  • The compression strength of corrugated fiberboard container for packaging the agricultural products rapidly decreases because of various environmental conditions during distribution of unitized products. Among various environmental conditions, the main factors affecting the compression strength of corrugated fiberboard are absorption of moisture, long-term accumulative load, and fatigue caused by shock and vibration. An estimated rate of damage for fruit during distribution is about from 30 to 40 percent owing to the shock and vibration. This study was carried out to characterize the durability of corrugated fiberboard container for packaging the fruit and vegetables under simulated transportation environment. The vibration test system was constructed to simulate the land transportation using truck. After the package with corrugated fiberboard container was vibrated by vibration test system at various experimental conditions, the compression test for the package was performed. The compression strength of corrugated fiberboard container decreased with loading weight and vibrating time. The multiple nonlinear regression equation for predicting the decreasing rate of compression strength of corrugated fiberboard containers were developed using four independent variables such as input acceleration level, input frequency, loading weight and vibrating time. The influence of loading weight on the decreasing rate of corrugated fiberboard container was larger than other variables.

Structural Strength Analysis due to Rib Thickness of Lower Arm (로워암 리브 두께에 따른 구조 강도 해석)

  • This study investigates the structural strength analysis due to rib thickness of lower arm. At structural analysis, model 1 has the most deformation by comparing three models. As most equivalent stress is shown at the part connected with wheel knuckle, the strength becomes weaker in cases of three models. At fatigue analysis, model 1 becomes most unstabilized among three models. Model 3 has most fatigue life and the next model is model 2. The range of maximum harmonic response frequencies becomes 140 to 175Hz in cases of three models. Because the critical frequency at model 3 becomes highest among three models but the stress exceeds yield stress, model 3 becomes most unstabilized at vibration durability. As models 1 and 2 has less than yield stress, these models become stabilized. Model 2 becomes most favorable by comparing three models at structural, fatigue and vibration analyses. This study result can be effectively utilized with the design of lower arm by investigating prevention against damage and its strength durability.

Structural Analysis on Flange Coupling due to Change of Bolt Numbers (볼트 수 변경에 따른 플랜지 커플링에 대한 구조해석)

  • This study investigates structural and vibration analyses due to the change of bolt Numbers on models 1 and 2 of flange couplings connected with both sides of axis. As maximum equivalent stresses of models 1 and 2 are 122.05 and 102.3 MPa respectively by the basis of bolt, these stresses are within the allowable stress of this model and the safety of bolt design is verified. As maximum equivalent stresses of models 1 and 2 are 196.2 and 196.4 MPa respectively by the basis of body, these stresses are within the allowable stress of this model and the safety of body design is verified. Through natural frequency analysis, maximum displacements of model 1 and 2 are shown at the frequencies of 6565.1 and 6614.9 Hz respectively. Maximum displacements in cases of models 1 and 2 are shown at harmonic frequencies of 7760 and 7840 Hz at real loading conditions. By putting these study results together, the durability of vibration at model 2 with bolt numbers of 8 becomes better than model 1 with bolt numbers of 6. These study results can be effectively utilized with the design on flange coupling by anticipating and investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

An Empirical Study on the Quality Reliability of the Split Shape of Long Control Rod for the Rotorcraft (회전익 항공기 장축 조종로드 분할 형상의 품질 신뢰성에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • Purpose: In the A rotorcraft, the division of a long yaw control rod was studied to improve the heat treatment capability. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether division of yaw control rod affects quality reliability in the A rotorcraft and analyze whether it secured flight safety. Methods: The structural static test and the vibration durability test on the split shape of yaw control rod were carried out in order to examine and verify the existing structural analysis results. Results: Structural static test results showed that there were no cracks and vibration durability test results showed that there was no damage or breakage on the split yaw control rod. Conclusion: This study showed that the quality reliability was confirmed and thus the flight safety of the A rotorcraft was secured. And it is expected that the split technique of the yaw control rod will contribute to the development of the rotorcraft industry in the future.
