  • Working condition is one of the most important factors in precision working. In this study, we optimized the vibration acceleration of working progress direction using RSM(response surface methodology) by table of orthogonal array. RSM was well adapted to make analytic model for minimizing vibration acceleration, created the objective function and saved a great deal of computational time. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed optimization procedure using RSM can be easily utilized to solve the optimization problem of working condition. The experimental results of the surface roughness and vibration acceleration showed the validity of the proposed working condition of side wall end-milling as it can be observed.

  • Various concretes are used for construction works depending on the types of structure, building element and method of construction. An internal vibration work is one of the important processes for adequately pouring various concrete into a certain form. This study was undertaken to find out the effects of internal vibration on flowability of fresh concrete by concrete flow test under eight conditions of vibration. Presumable equation models also were created to show all vibration effects without regard to kinds of concrete. As the results of this study, the degree of vibration effects were varied according to the properties of concrete. Acceleration amplitude of vibration that applied to fresh concrete was effective value of the properties of vibration in a viewpoint of flowability. Moreover, This research presents the presumed equation models including variables created by acceleration amplitude and measuring value of vibrated concrete flow test. These models are presumable methods of vibration effects regardless of kinds of concrete.

  • According to the fixation detailed drawing and lightweight anger tendency of the product the vibration control of precision equipments is essential and establishes under the equipments. so It is important to know vibration characteristics of vibration isolator. For this reason the accelerometer attaches in vibration isolator and measures an acceleration response. The acceleration response which is measured will lead double integral and will be able to predict a displacement of vibration isolator. However, in compliance with the effect of the accelerometer can not be accurately. From this paper, mass, damping ratio and natural frequency of the accelerometers by changing the vibration isolator to predict the acceleration response and the results were compared.

  • When Korean High Speed Train (KTX) runs over a high-speed railway bridge, the high-speed railway bridge gives quite large acceleration response. Local vibration at the large cross section, the impact from equally spaced sleepers, the vibration due to elastomeric bearings, and the vibration from the train itself are the causes of this acceleration response. Maximum peaks of the accelerations measured at the bridges are sometimes going over the limit value. Although it is smaller than 0.35G, the limit from the Korean Bridge Design Manual(BRDM), this acceleration response should be reduced for the safety of running trains with high speed. In this paper, to reduce the acceleration response by controlling excessive local vibration at the large cross section, vibration reduction method is studied. The result shows that the effect of elastomeric bearings on the vibration of the bridge is very large and that the vibration reduction device is effective against wing mode local vibration PSC box girder bridge for the high-speed railway, which usually has very large cross section, although it has little effect on global vibration modes such as flexural and twisting modes. The test of the vibration reduction device on the bridge in service has been performed in this study.

  • This paper presents the acceleration optimization of a high-speed LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) transfer system for the minimization of vibration. To reduce vibration is one of key requirements for the dynamic control of a high-speed LCD transfer system. In this paper, the concept of finite jerk (the first derivative of acceleration) has been introduced for realizing input acceleration. The profile of finite jerk has been optimized using a genetic algorithm so that vibration effect can be minimized. In order to incorporate a genetic algorithm, the dynamic model of a LCD transfer system which is realized by using the ADAMS software has been linked to the simulation system constructed by the MATLAB. The simulation results illustrated that the duration of finite jerk can be optimized so as to minimize the magnitude of vibration. It has been also shown that the acceleration optimization with finite jerk can make the high-speed motion of a LCD transfer system result in low vibration, compared with the conventional motion control with trapezoidal velocity profile.

  • 1. When the frame of the experimental apparatus was directly fixed on the platform, result from the spectrum density analysis showed that the generated vibration frequecy of the system was nearly-same as the system's own characteristic vibration frequency, 80Hz, in the case of the forcing vibration frequency was 7.5 to 22.5Hz. The reduction ratio of acceleration by balanced type model compare to non-balanced type one was 26.66 percent. 2. When the frame of experimental apparatus was fixed on the platform with putting a shock absorbing rubber between the frame and the platform, the generated vibration frequency of the system was same as forcing vibration frequency. When either frequency or the amplitude of the forcing vibration was increased, the acceleration ratio was increased too. The average reduction ratio was resulted 44.77 per cent. It was concluded that this method of acceleration measurement(the method using a shock absorbing rubber) was a reaonable method, because actual machine will work under such condition. As the vibration frequency and aptitude were increased, the absolute magnitude of acceleration was increased. 3. unbalanced rotating parts, and unbalanced moment of inertia of links were supposed to be causing factors of residual vibration in spite of using the balanced type oscillating mole drainer. This fact suggested that the attachment of the counter weight on the rotating parts which satisfy the condition mw$.$rw=m0e, was necessary. And also, it was expected that the shock absorbing effect could be improved by putting the shock absorbing materials between the moving parts and their supports.

  • Active vibration control is generally used to reduce vibration level by the actuators based on measured signal. Dynamic properties of a structure can be easily modified by the active vibration control, so that the vibration level may be effectively reduced to the magnitude below the allowable limit over a wide frequency rangs. In this paper, an instantaneous optimal control algorithm including acceleration feedback is presented for the active vibration control of large structures considering facts that the acceleration response can be easily measured, but the displacement and velocity response are obtained by numerically integrating the measured acceleration response with some errors. The adverse effect of the time delay is overcomed by taking into account the dynamic characteristics of an actuator and filters in the design of controller. Performance test is carried out using a hydraulic active mass driver on a test structure$(L{\times}W{\times}H;=;1200mm{\times}800mm{\times}1600mm, about;500kg)$ supported by four columns under base excitations. It is confirmed that the vibration level of the test structure are reduced to about 1/6 near resonance.

  • The urban railway sleeper floating track, the subject of this study, is an anti-vibration track to reduce vibration transmitted to the structure. currently, the replacement cycle of resilience pad for sleeper floating tracks is set and operated based on load. however, most previous studies were conducted on load-based structural safety aspects, such as fatigue life evaluation of sleeper anti-vibration pads and increase in track impact coefficient and track support stiffness due to increase in spring stiffness. therefore, in this study, we measure the vibration acceleration of the ballast for each analysis section and use the results of 7 million fatigue tests to calculate the spring stiffness of the resilience pad for each section. the spring stiffness of the resilience pad calculated for each section was set as the analysis data and the concrete vibration acceleration was derived analytically. the adequacy of analysis modeling was verified as the analyzed concrete bed vibration acceleration for each section was within the field-measured concrete bed vibration acceleration range. using the vibration acceleration curve according to the derived spring stiffness change, the spring stiffness of the resilience pad is estimated from the measured vibration acceleration. therefore, we would like to present a technique that can estimate the spring stiffness of resilience pad of a running track using the vibration acceleration of the measured concrete bed.

  • In this study, the serviceability of Waffle shaped(WAS) and Double-Tee(DT) precast concrete slabs was evaluated and compared based on the vertical acceleration magnitude induced by walking and heel drop loads. Tests were conducted for practical building structures (a shopping mall in Hanam) of which floor systems used WAS and DT slabs. Natural frequencies of the slabs were similar to those obtained by using analytical models. The measured acceleration level was evaluated by vertical floor acceleration criteria presented by ISO-2631, AIJ(1991, Japan), and a previous study regarding floor vibration limit. Test results showed that both WAS and DT slabs satisfied all the criteria and the maximum acceleration level of WAS slabs was lower than that of DT slabs.

  • The miniaturization of an electrostatic precipitator has become a key element in successfully constructing an efficient electrostatic precipitator because of the limited space allowed for installation in a subway tunnel. Therefore, the miniaturization of the rapping system of the electrostatic precipitator has also become important. This research proposes a resonant-type electromagnetic vibration exciter as a vibrating rapper for an electrostatic precipitator. The compact vibrating rapper removes collected dust from the collecting plates without direct impact on those collecting plates. To characterize the dynamic performance of the electromagnetic vibration exciter, finite element analysis was performed using a commercial electromagnetic analysis program, MAXEWLL. Moreover, we analyzed the resonant frequency of an electrostatic precipitator, to which the electromagnetic vibration exciter was applied, by ANSYS. Also, to measure the acceleration generated by the electromagnetic vibration exciter, we manufactured a prototype of the ESP and electromagnetic vibration exciter and measured its acceleration at the resonant frequency.
