  • In this paper a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a french is carried out. The transmitted load into the ground which induces the ground vibration is computed through a study on the interaction between tilting car and the line. This load is applied into the numerical model which is one for a study on the reduction method of ground vibration by a trench. Then the numerical results is compared with the experimental results conducted in the previous study.

  • In this paper a study on the characteristics and the reduction method for the ground vibration due to traveling tilting car is carried out. The transmitted load which induces the ground vibration is computed through a study oil the interaction between tilting car and the line. Then, this lead is applied into the numerical model, which is not only designed considering the diverse ground conditions hut also verified by the ultrasonic experiment. Through the numerical analysis according to the conditions, the characteristics and the reduction method for the ground vibration by tilting car are studied.

  • Recently, demands for the reduction of noise generated by transformers have been increasing. Almost all the noise generated by a transformer is a result of magnetostrictive vibration in the core. The noise radiates into the atmosphere from the tank through the insulation oil. One method of reduction such a noise is to build a free-standing enclosure of concrete and steel plates around the transformer. However, this method has some disadvantages, for example, a large area is needed for equipment installation. In this paper, the vibration and noise effects which is transferred from reinforce channel to insulation panel generated by transformer have been identified for the several kinds of insulation panel shape and damping sheet experimentally.

  • Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has simple magnetic structure, and needs simple power electronic driving circuit. It is very useful for wide range adjustable speed drive system. But, SRM drive generates large vibration and acoustic noise because it is commutated individually by step pulse m.m.f of each phase. In the vibration and acoustic noise characteristics. the considerable vibration and noise is induced by radial deforming of stator, so the frequency of dominant vibration and noise is coincident with the frequency of natural frequency of mechanical structure. This radial vibration force is generated by abrupt change of radial magnetic force in the phase commutation region. This paper studied about simple electromagnetic structure of SRM using auxiliary compensating winding for the reduction of noise and vibration. This auxiliary winding is coupled with all phase windings electromagnetically and absorb and transfer magnetic energy variation from phase to other phase. By this interaction of phase windings and compensating winding can reduce abrupt radial force change and vibration and acoustic noise. In this paper the improvement effect is examined by the test of prototype machine.

  • In this paper, vibration reduction techniques of a voice coil motor (VCM) actuator are presented for AFM imaging system. The damping coefficient of the actuator driven by VCM with a flexure hinge is quite low and it cause the about 30dB peak amplitude response at the resonance frequency. To decrease this peak response, we design and apply elliptical band-stop filters to xy and z axis VCM actuator. Frequency response of each actuator with filter is measured to verify the effect of the filters. As a sensor, capacitive sensor is used. Vibration reduction rate of the xy actuator with the filter is also measured while real AFM scanning condition. As another method, closed loop control with the capacitive sensor is applied to the xy axis actuator to add an electrical damping effect and vibration reduction rate measured. These vibration reduction rates with each method are compared. In the case of z axis actuator, the frequency response of force (gap) control loop is measured. For comparison, the frequency response using a conventional PID controller is also obtained. Finally, the AFM image of a standard grid sample is measured with the designed controller to analyze the effect in the AFM imaging.

  • Currently most practical vibration and structural problems in automotive suspensions require the use of the finite element method to obtain their structural responses. When the finite element model has a very large number of degrees of freedom the harmonic and dynamic analyses are computationally too expensive to repeat within a feasible design process time. To alleviate the computational difficulty, this paper presents a moment-matching based model order reduction (MOR) which reduces the number of degrees of freedom of the original finite element model and speeds up the necessary simulations with the reduced-size models. The moment-matching model reduction via the Arnoldi process is performed directly to ANSYS finite element models by software mor4ansys. Among automotive suspension components, a knuckle is taken as an example to demonstrate the advantages of this approach for vibration simulation. The frequency and transient dynamic responses by the MOR are compared with those by the mode superposition method.

  • Because the noise and vibration regulations in domestic areas are being tightened more and more, a more environmentfriendly method than the current low-noise & low-vibration methods is needed. In this study, the characteristics of screw concrete piles for reduction of noise and vibration were explained, and during pilot tests the noise and vibration were measured. The measured vibration value is satisfied with the vibration regulations at 7.5m distance from the source. The measured noise value is exceeded over about 2dB(A) at the 15.0m distance from the source but these values are about 5~20dB(A) less than the measured values of the current low-noise & low-vibration method.

The Vibration Characteristic of Large Main Steam Pipelines in Power Plant (발전소의 대형 주증기배관의 진동 특성)

  • In recent years, the piping vibration in many Power Plants is being increased by the aged generating facilities due to a long time use. Generally, the pressure fluctuations associated with the flow-induced excitations in this case are broadband in nature. Mainly, the dominant sources of vibration are a vortex-shedding, plane waves and boundary layer turbulence. The peak level of the spectrum is proportional to the dynamic head. A severe disturbance in pipeline results in the generation of intense broadband internal sound waves which can propagate through the piping system. The characteristic frequencies of operating loads of 20%, 57%, 70%, 100% are 4 - 6 Hz and coincide with the results from impact hammering test and FEM analysis. We chose the wire energy absorbing rope restraint as a vibration reduction method after reviewing the various conditions such as site, installing space and economic cost etc. After installation, the vibration level was reduced about 54% in velocity.

Vibration Analysis of Spin Etcher (Spin Etcher의 진동 분석)

  • Spin etcher can process frontside and backside on the wafer, which is used for etching, stripping, cleaning and wafer reclamation. A new generation of spin etchers has been designed to meet 300mm wafer processing. The larger header and higher spin speed make vibration problem a severe problem in developing equipments. This study shows schematic process of solving practical vibration problems, where it is required to analyze the principal ca uses of vibration problem and find out the method of vibration reduction in spin etcher. The vibration under normal operation is measured in time domain and is analyzed in frequency domain. And modal parameters are obtained through modal test. Using the modal parameters from experiments, the model of finite element method is formulated. From diagnosis using many measurements and analyses, it can be shown that main cause of vibration is unbalance of head.

  • The longitudinal vibration of the tape in the tape transport system influences the performance of the nagnetic tape-recording system. Generally it is controlled by a passive method with impedance roller which is easy to implement and cost-effective. Therefore the effect of the impedance roller in reducing the tape vibration was analyzed in this paper. The practical tape transport system was modelled mathematically as a mass-spring system. Both simulation and experimental study were carried out in order to show the vibration reduction effect of the impedance roller.
