탈수직축 회전자극을 이용한 자세조절기능의 평가 (Evaluation of Postural Control by Off-vertical Axis Rotation)

  • Off-vertical axis rotator was developed to differentiate each function of the canal and otolith in the vestibular system and evaluate subjective symptoms during postural change. Eye movement induced by various types of rotation was measured in normal subjects. Nystagmus with fast component corresponding to direction of rotation was occurred by sinusoidal earth vertical axis rotation, and the gain of eye movement in vestibuloocular reflex (VOR) was lower than in visual vestibuloocular reflex (VVOR) and higher than in visual fixed vestibuloocular reflex (VFX). Degree of dizziness was proportioned to degree of gain. off-vertical axis rotation was produced severe dizziness than earth vertical axis rotation. These results suggest stimulation of the otolith should be minimized to make a stable and pleasant condition in work and travel.

수직축 풍력터빈 블레이드의 공기역학적 특성 (Aerodynamic characteristics of a vertical axis wind turbine blade)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of a vertical axis wind turbine blade as the basic study of a design of a vertical axis wind turbine. The lift and drag coefficients of the various shape of the vortical axis wind turbine blades are analyzed and compared using the CFD code Fluent. To validate the numerical analysis, the predicted results of the Fluent are compared with those of the Xfoil code and the experimental results. We conclude that the program Fluent can be used to predict the aerodynamics of the wind turbine blade. By comparing the predicted results of the aerodynamic characteristics of the different shape of the blades, an appropriate shape of the blade is suggested to design the vortical axis wind turbine blade.

복합형 수직축 풍력발전기의 유동소음특성에 관한 수치적 고찰 (Numerical Investigation on the Flow Noise Characteristics of the Hybrid Vertical-axis Wind Turbine)

  • 본 논문에서는 복합형 수직축 풍력발전기의 유동소음특성에 관한 연구를 수행하였다. 복합형 수직축 풍력발전기는 Savonius형과 Darrieus형을 동시에 사용하여 두 풍력발전기의 장점을 극대화하여 단점을 상쇄시키는 새로운 개념의 수직축 풍력발전기이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 특성을 갖는 복합형 수직축 풍력발전기에 대하여, 복합 전산공력음향학 기법을 이용하여 풍력발전기에서 발생하는 유동소음을 예측하였다. 먼저, 전산유체역학 기법을 이용하여 터빈 주위의 비정상유동장을 예측하였다. 다음으로, 예측한 비정상유동장에 음향상사법을 적용하여 터빈으로부터 방사하는 유동소음을 예측하였다. 해석결과를 바탕으로 복합형 수직축 풍력발전기의 유동소음특성을 분석하였고, 이를 Savonius형 및 Darrieus형의 유동소음특성과 비교하였다.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the difference of chin morphology and mandibular form in relation to different mandibular growth direction. The subject was divided into three group i.e., control group, vertical group, and horizontal group, according to the criteria of $Bj{\ddot{o}}rk$ sum, and each group was composed of 15 females and 15 males. Medial axis analysis in addition to the routine cephalometric analysis using P.I.A.S. (personal image analysing system) was carried out to find out the differences of mandibular morphology on each group. The results were as follows: 1. The area of symphysis was larger in horizontal growth group than that of vertical growth group. 2. Protruding chin area was also larger in horizontal growth group than that of vertical growth group. 3. There was a close correlationship between protruding chin area and other form of mandible. 4. Antegonial notch depth and ramus posterior contour depth was deeper in vertical growth group than in horizontal growth group, and antegonial notch depth was more influenced by anterior part of notch than posterior part of notch. 5. Mental medial axis and incisal medial axis length, in relation to corpus medial axis length was larger in vertical growth group than in horizontal growth group.

  • This study aimed to investigate the performance characteristics of vertical axis turbine of tidal energy convertor. Three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equation with shear stress transport turbulence model has been solved to analyze the fluid flow of the vertical axis turbine. The hexahedral grids have been used to construct the computational domain and the grid dependency test has been performed to find the optimum grid system. Four steps have been carried out to design the vertical axis turbine of the 100 kW class tidal energy convertor.

종축형 교회와 중앙 집중형 교회의 공간구성과 빛 (The Spatial Organization and Light Effect in Church Architecture: Comparison of Plans to be Designed with Vertical Axis and Centralized Plan)

  • Purpose: The early churches such as tabernacle, temple and synagogue had played a important role to form space concepts of western churches. Tabernacle and temple were designed with vertical axis which consisted of sanctuary, sanctum, outdoor yard. Synagogue was designed pew of congregation around pulpit to give a sermon. The aim of this paper is to analyze spatial principles of churches designed with vertical axis and centralized plan. Method: The concept of vertical axis plan succeeded to Basilica, Romanesque and Gothic churches, and the concept of centralized plan succeeded to Byzantine and Renaissance churches. Therefore, this paper analyzed spatial characteristics and role of light in churches according to epoch, and was progressed by examining the existing researches and case studies. Result: The churches designed with vertical axis plan realized spatial composition to show the concept of domus dei, and worship space was illuminated with mysterious light. The churches designed with centralized plan realized spatial composition to show the concept of domus ecclesiae, and light created dramatic holiness in worship space.

  • 선형 서보 응용분야에 사용되는 속도제어기를 정밀하게 조정하기 위해서는 부하를 포함한 가동부 전체의 정밀한 질량이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 수직축 선형 영구자석 동기전동기의 가동부 질량을 추정하기 위한 방법으로 축차 최소자승 추정 알고리즘을 적용한 질량 추정방법을 제안한다. 먼저 수직축 선형 영구자석 동기 전동기의 기계적인 동적 시스템에 대한 DARMA(deterministic autoregressive moving average)모델을 유도하고, 유도된 DARMA모델에 축차 최소자승 추정 방법을 적용한 질량 추정방법을 제안하며, Matlab/Simulink를 이용한 시뮬레이션 및 실험 결과를 제시하여 제안한 방법으로 수직축 질량을 무부하 및 부하 시 모두 정밀하게 추정할 수 있음을 보였다.

Unsteady flow around a two-imensional section of a vertical axis turbine for tidal stream energy conversion

  • The two-dimensional unsteady flow around a vertical axis turbine for tidal stream energy conversion was investigated using a computational fluid dynamics tool solving the Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The geometry of the turbine blade section was NACA653-018 aiifoil. The computational analysis was done at several different angles of attack and the results were compared with the corresponding experimental data for validation and calibration. Simulations were then carried out for the two-dimensional cross section of a vertical axis turbine. The simulation results demonstrated the usefulness of the method for the typical unsteady flows around vertical axis turbines. The optimum turbine efficiency was achieved for carefully selected combinations of the number of blades and tip speed ratios.

Hinge Axis Point에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Hinge Axis Point)

  • The notion that the axis of the shaft of the articulator must coincide the patient's mandibular transverse axis tells us the importance of locating the axis precisely. When using kinematic axis to transfer a cast to an articulator, the anatomic asymmetry of the contralateral points will result in certain distortion when the axis transferred to an articulator where the mechanical axis produces symmetry. In this study, after locating the true hinge axis point with Denar hinge axis locator, the discrepancies between true hinge axis point and arbitrary hinge axis point that was 13mm anterior from the posterior margin of center of trangus to the outer canthus of eye were measured. And the discrepancies between left and right true hinge axis point in the superoinferior and anteroposterior directions were measured. For this study, 20 dental students who have no missing teeth and no difficulties of mandibular movement were selected. Upper and lower cast of subjects were mounted on Denar Mark II articulator uisng Denar Slidematic face-bow and centric relation record for the measurement of discrepancies between left and right true hinge axis points. The results obtained as follows. 1. The mean distance from the arbitrary hinge axis point to the true hinge axis point was as follows. Right: horizontal distance; 1.99mm, vertical distance; 2.12mm, linear distance; 3.36 mm. Left: horizontal distance; 1.39mm, vertical distance; 2.06mm, linear distance; 2.09mm. Total: horizontal distance; 1.69mm, vertical distance; 2.09mm linear distance; 3.06 mm. 2. The 87.5% of true hinge axis points were within 5mm of the arbitrary hinge axis point. 3. The mean discrepancies between the right and left hinge axis point were 2.92mm in superoinferior direction and 4.74mm in anteroposterior direction. 4. When transferring the axis to the articulator, anatomic asymmetry between right: and left axis point produces in dislocation of cast on the articulator, and undesirable shift in esthetic tooth position will be resulted.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of a small vertical axis wind turbine with dual blade type. The Wind turbine with dual blade has various angle of attack. so this turbine improve starting characteristics. The various arrangement of the vertical axis wind turbine with dual blade is designed. Among them, it shows superior quality that is arranged in three rows. Among arrangement in three rows, we use general computational fluid dynamics program CFX to find out the optimal arrangement. By comparing the predicted results of the aerodynamic characteristics of the different arrangement of the blades, an appropriate arrangement of the blade is suggested to design the small wind turbine blade.
