시효처리와 thermal cycling이 치관전장용 복합레진의 2축굽힘강도에 미치는 영향 (EFFECTS OF AGING AND THERMAL CYCLING ON THE BIAXIAL FLEXURE STRENGTH OF VENEERING RESIN COMPOSITES FOR CROWN)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the effect of aging and thermal cycling on the biaxial flexure strength of low commercially available veneering resin composites for crown(Dentacolor : DC, Artglass : AG, Esternia : ET and Targis : TG). Disc specimens were fabricated in a teflon mold giving 12mm in diameter and 1mm in thickness. All samples were divided into 4 groups. Group 1 was dried in a dessicator at $25^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. Group 2 was immersed in distilled water at $37^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. Group 3 was immersed in distilled water at $65^{\circ}C$ for 30 days. Group 4 was subjected to 10,000 thermal cycles between $5^{\circ}C\;and\;55^{\circ}C$, and the immersion time in each bath was 15 seconds per cycle. Biaxial flexure test was conducted using the ball-on-three-ball method at the cross head speed of 0.5mm/min and fracture surfaces were observed with scanning electoron microscope. The results obtained were summarized as follows; 1. Weibull modulus values, except for the AG group, decreased after thermal cycling treatment. 2. Biaxial flexure strength values of aging group at $37^{\circ}C$ were the lowest in all sample groups. Except for the DC group, strength values were significantly decreased for the drying group. 3. After thermal cycling test, the highest value of biaxial flexure strength of 188.8 MPa was observed in the ET group and the lowest value of 73.2 MPa was observed in the DC group. The strength values showed the significant differences in each group (p<0.05). 4. Observation of surfaces after thermal cycling test revealed the ditching in the part of surrounding large fillers.

Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK)과 다양한 의치상용 전장 레진 간의 인장결합강도에 관한 연구 (A study of the tensile bond strength between Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) and various veneered denture base resin)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 의치상용 레진의 전장방법이 polyetherketoneketone (PEKK)과의 인장결합강도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 재료 및 방법: 총 80개의 PEKK 시편을 T자 형태로 절삭 가공하고, airborne-particle abrasion 처리 후 전처리제(Visio.link)를 도포하였다. 전장 방법에 따라 4개의 군(n = 20)으로 나누어, 충전형 광중합형 복합레진(SR Adoro), 유동형 광중합형 복합레진(Crea.lign), 열중합형 의치상용 레진(Vertex RS), 자가중합형 의치상용 레진(ProBase Cold)으로 전장하였다. 각 군은 인공시효처리 여부에 따라 2가지 하위 군(n = 10)으로 나누었다. 만능시험기를 이용해 인장결합강도 측정하고 현미경으로 파절단면을 관찰하였다. 통계적 검증을 위해 이원 분산분석 및 Tukey's HSD 사후 검정을 시행하였다(α = .05). 결과: 인공시효처리와 레진 전장방법은 인장결합강도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 주었다(P < .001). 인공시효처리 전과 후 모두 유동형 광중합형 복합레진 군에서 가장 높은 값을 보였고, 열중합형 레진 군에서 가장 낮은 값을 보였다(P < .05). 파절 단면은 군에 따라 혼합 파절과 계면 파절이 혼재되어 나타났다. 결론: 레진의 전장 방식은 PEKK과의 인장결합강도에 영향을 줄 수 있으며, 인공시효처리는 인장결합강도를 감소시킨다.

치과용 비귀금속 합금과 전장용 강화형 복합레진의 인장결합강도 (TENSILE BOND STRENGTH BETWEEN NON-PRECIOUS DENTAL ALLOY AND VENEERING REINFORCED COMPOSITE RESINS)

  • Recently the 2nd generation laboratory composite resins were introduced. Although the mechanical properties of these composite resins have been improved, there were some disadvantages such as discoloration, low abrasion resistance and debonding between metal and resin. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the tensile bond strength between non-pecious dental alloy(verabond) and four veneering reinforced composite resins ; Targis(Ivoclar Co., U.S.A.), Artglass(Kulzer CO., Germany), Sculpture(Jeneric Pentron Co., U.S.A.), and Estonia(Kurary Co., Japan). All test metal specimens were polished with #1,000 SiC paper, and sandblasted with $250{\mu}m$ aluminum oxide. After then. according to manufacturer's instructions metal adhesive primer and veneering resins were applied. All test specimens were divided into two groups. One group was dried in a desiccator at $25^{\circ}C$ for 3 days, the other group was subjected to thermal cycling($2,000{\times}$) in water($5/55^{\circ}C$). Tensile bond strength was measured using Instron Universal Testing machine and the fractured surface was examined under the naked eyes and scanning electron microscope. Within the limitations imposed in this study, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1. In no-thermal cycling groups, there were no significant differences between Estenia and VMK68 but there were significant differences between Targis, Artglass, Sculpture and VMK68(p<0.05). 2. In no-thermal cycling resin groups, the highest tensile bond strength was observed in Estenia and there were significant differences between Estenia and the other resins(p<0.05). 3. Before and after thermal cycling, there were significant differences in tensile bond strength of Targis and Artglass(p<0.05). The tensile bond strength of Artglass was decreased and that of Targis was increased. 4. In no-thermal cycling groups, Artglass showed mixed fracture modes(95%), but after thermal cycling, Artglass showed adhesive fracture modes(75%).

지르코니아의 표면처리 방법에 따른 압축강화형 복합레진 ($TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL)전장의 결합강도 (Shear Bond Strength of Composite Resin ($TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL) Veneering on Zirconia Surface with Various Surface Treatments)

  • 압축강화형 복합레진($TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL)을 지르코니아 framework에 효과적으로 전장하기 위하여, 표면처리 방법을 여러 가지로 달리한 지르코니아 표면에 압축강화형 복합레진을 전장하여 전단결합강도를 실험적으로 비교하였다. 지르코니아의 표면적 증가를 도모하기 위해 최종소결 전 지름 1.1mm round bur를 사용하여 지르코니아 표면에 pockmark (honey-comb concept)를 형성하였고, 화학적으로는 Primer (Zr-plus primer, Bisco, Inc., Shaumurg, USA)를 도포하여 결합강도 증가를 도모하였다. 지르코니아에 porcelain을 적층하여 대조군으로 삼고 각 군을 5도와 55도 사이에서 10,000회 thermocycling시켜 simulated aging 결과 또한 비교하였다. 전단결합강도를 측정하였고 주사전자현미경을 통해 파절단면을 관찰하였다. Pockmark를 형성한 실험군에 압축강화형 복합레진($TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL) 전장 시 도재 전장과 유사한 전단결합 강도를 발휘하였으며,(p>0.05) 동일 시편을 24시간 수중 보관했을 때에 비해 thermocycling 했을 때의 전단결합강도가 약간 감소하였으나 유의차는 보이지 않았다.(p>0.05) 지르코니아 표면에의 Primer의 도포가 압축강화형 복합레진 ($TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL)과의 결합강도를 증가시키지는 못하였다. 지르코니아 소결 전 표면에 pockmark를 주어 표면적을 증가시키고 요철의 효과를 주는 것은 $TESCERA^{TM}$ ATL과의 결합강도를 증가시켰으며, 이는 임상적으로 지르코니아-포세린의 결합강도에 필적하는 강하고 내구성 있는 결합강도를 가져온다고 판단되었다.

  • 고기능성 폴리머 중 하나인 Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK)는 좋은 생체적합성과 우수한 물성을 가져 치과 영역을 포함한 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있다. 이러한 PEKK를 프레임워크로 하는 임플란트 지지 고정성 보철물에 관한 성공적인 증례들이 많이 보고되어 왔으나, 보고된 증례에 대한 장기간의 관찰과 합병증에 관한 고찰은 부족한 상태이다. 이에 본 증례보고에서는 PEKK 프레임워크를 composite resin, lithium disilicate crown, high-impact polymethyl methacrylate PMMA로 각각 veneering하여 임플란트 지지 고정성 보철 수복을 한 세 가지 증례와 각각의 6년간의 경과관찰 결과를 소개하고 이를 고찰해 보고하고자 한다.

In vitro wear behavior between enamel cusp and three aesthetic restorative materials: Zirconia, porcelain, and composite resin

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to identify the effects of three aesthetic restorative materials on the wear between tooth and restoration by a pin-on-disk manner. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Six aesthetic restorative materials were used to prepare disk specimens for wear test, which were Lava Zirconia as zirconia group, Vintage MP and Cerabien ZR as veneering porcelain group, Gradia Direct microhybrid composite containing prepolymerized fillers, Filtek Z250 microhybrid composite containing zirconia glass and colloidal silica particles, and Filtek Z350 nanocomposite as composite resin group. Vertical loss of the worn cusp, change of the surface roughness of the restoration materials, and the surface topography were investigated after wear test under 9.8-N contact load. RESULTS. The porcelain groups (Vintage MP and Cerabien ZR) caused the largest vertical loss of teeth when compared with those of the composite resin and zirconia groups, and Filtek Z250 microhybrid composite results in the second-largest vertical loss of teeth. The surface of Filtek Z350 nanocomposite was deeply worn out, but visible wear on the surface of the zirconia and Gradia Direct microhybrid composite was not observed. When the zirconia surface was roughened by sand-blasting, vertical loss of teeth considerably increased when compared with that in the case of fine polished zirconia. CONCLUSION. It was identified that microhybrid composite resin containing a prepolymerized filler and zirconia with reduced surface roughness by polishing were the most desirable restorative materials among the tested materials to prevent the two-body wear between aesthetic restorative material and tooth.

Effect of metal primers and tarnish treatment on bonding between dental alloys and veneer resin

  • PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of metal primers on the bonding of dental alloys and veneer resin. Polyvinylpyrrolidone solution's tarnish effect on bonding strength was also investigated. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Disk-shape metal specimens (diameter 8 mm, thickness 1.5 mm) were made from 3 kinds of alloy (Co-Cr, Ti and Au-Ag-Pd alloy) and divided into 4 groups per each alloy. Half specimens (n=12 per group) in tarnished group were immersed into polyvinylpyrrolidone solution for 24 hours. In Co-Cr and Ti-alloy, Alloy Primer (MDP + VBATDT) and MAC-Bond II (MAC-10) were applied, while Alloy Primer and V-Primer (VBATDT) were applied to Au-Ag-Pd alloys. After surface treatment, veneering composite resin were applied and shear bond strength test were conducted. RESULTS. Alloy Primer showed higher shear bond strength than MAC-Bond II in Co-Cr alloys and Au-Ag-Pd alloy (P<.05). However, in Ti alloy, there was no significant difference between Alloy Primer and MAC-Bond II. Tarnished Co-Cr and Au-Ag-Pd alloy surfaces presented significantly decreased shear bond strength. CONCLUSION. Combined use of MDP and VBATDT were effective in bonding of the resin to Co-Cr and Au-Ag-Pd alloy. Tarnish using polyvinylpyrrolidone solution negatively affected on the bonding of veneer resin to Co-Cr and Au-Ag-Pd alloys.

섬유강화형 복합레진브릿지의 파절강도 및 변연적합도에 관한 연구 (A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE FRACTURE STRENGTH AND MARGINAL FITNESS OF FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE BRIDGE)

  • Fiber-reinforced composite(FRC) was developed as a structural component for dental appliances such as prosthodontic framework. FRC provides the potential for fabrication of a metal-free, excellent esthetic prostheses. It has demonstrated success as a result of its simple fabrication, natural colour, and marginal integrity, and fracture resistance of veneering composite resin and the FRC material. Although it has lots of merits, clinical and objective data are insufficient. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fracture strength and the marginal fitness of fiber reinforced composite bridge in the posterior region for clinical application. Sixteen bridges of each group. $Targis/Vectris^{(R)}$, $Sculpture-Fibrekor^{(R)}$, and In-Ceram, were fabricated. All specimens were cemented with Panavia 21 to the master dies. Strength evaluation was accomplished by a universal testing machine (Instron). The marginal fitness was measured by using the stereoscope (${\times}50$). The results were as follows. : 1. The fracture strength according to the materials was significantly decreased in order In-Ceram($238.81{\pm}82$), Targis Vectris($176.25{\pm}18.93$), Sculpture-Fibrekor($120.35{\pm}20.08$) bridges. 2. FRC resin bridges were not completely fractured, while In-Ceram bridges were completely fractured in the pontic joint. 3. The marginal accuracy was significantly decreased in order Targis/Vectris ($60.71{\mu}m$), Sculpture-Fibrekor($73.10{\mu}m$) In-ceram Bridge ($83.81{\mu}m$). 4. The fitness of occlusal sites had a lower value than the marginal sites(P<0.001), and the marginal gaps of inner site of the pontic were greater than that of outer sites of the pontic. Fiber reinforced composite bridges are new, esthetic prosthesis and can be clinically used in anterior regions and short span bridges. However, caution must be exercised when extrapolating laboratory data to the clinical situation because there are no long term clinical data regarding the overall success of the FRC.

치과 캐드캠 시스템에서 사용되는 고분자 수복재료들의 표면특성과 접착양상 (Surface characteristics and bonding performance of polymer restorative materials for dental CAD/CAM systems)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mechanical properties of polymer prosthetic and restorative materials for dental CAD/CAM using two test method; surface characteristics and shear bond strength. Methods: Commercialized CAD/CAM polymer blanks were investigated; One kinds of PMMA, and one PEKK blanks. A total of 20 PMMA and PEKK specimens were prepared, and each group was divided into 10 specimens. Average surface roughness was observed under surface profilometer. The contact angle was measured with a surface electrooptics. The bond strength was evaluated by a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 5mm/min. The data were statistically analyzed using independent t-test and Fisher's exact test(P<0.05). Results: The PMMA and PEKK group showed a significant difference in the shear bond strength with the composite resin(P<0.05). The surface roughness of the PEKK group was higher than that of the PMMA group. The fracture mode were observed in PEKK groups with 50% showing adhesive remnant index score. Conclusion: PEEK is used as substructure material and composite veneering material is applied. PEKK resins will contribute to the development of successful products that will provide structural and aesthetic satisfaction.

PEKK(Polyetherketoneketone) 표면처리가 치과용 베니어 레진의 전단결합강도에 미치는 영향 (PEKK(Polyetherketoneketone) Surface Treatment Effects on Shear Bond Strength to Dental Veneering Resin)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 PEKK(Polyetherketoneketone)와 치과용 복합수지인 Sinfony(3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany)사이의 결합강도를 알아보고자 하는 것으로 대표적인 표면처리방식 세가지를 제시하여 두 재료간 결합강도에 영향을 미치는지에 대하여 평가하고자 하였다. 총 30개의 PEKK ($Pekkton^{(R)}$ Ivory, $Cendres+M{\acute{e}}taux$, Bienne, Switzerland)시편을 준비한 후 아크릴릭 레진에 포매한 후 표면 연마(P 1200 grid)하고 각 그룹을 10개의 시편으로 나누어 Air abrasion을 실시한 군(PN), Air abrasion을 실시한 후 Single Bond Universal(3M ESPE)을 적용한 군(PB), Air abrasion을 실시한 후 OPAQUE(3M ESPE)를 적용한 군(PO)의 표면처리 방식에 의해 3그룹으로 분류하였다(n=10). 이후 Sinfony(3M ESPE, Seefeld, Germany)를 이용하여 Veneering을 실시하였다. 완성된 모든 시편은 24시간동안 $37^{\circ}C$의 수조에 휴지시켰다. 각 그룹의 전단결합강도를 측정하고 파절양상을 분류하였다. 집단에 따른 전단결합강도 차이를 살펴보기 위하여 일원배치분산분석(one-way ANOVA)을 실시하였으며(p<.05), 사후분석으로는 Scheffe test를 실시하여 검증하였다(p<.05). 통계처리는 SPSSWIN 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 일원배치분산분석(one-way ANOVA)을 실시한 결과, PB그룹의 평균값은 $27.67{\pm}4,18MPa$로 가장 높은 결합강도를 나타냈으며, PN과 PO는 각각 $20.43{\pm}1.70$$19.8{\pm}4.77MPa$로 상대적으로 낮은 결합강도를 보였고(F=18.4, P<.001), 사후검증(scheffe test)을 살펴본 결과 PB>PO, PB>PN으로 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<.001). 본 연구를 통해 PEKK와 복합수지 사이의 결합력을 증진시키기 위하여 Air abrasion 실시 후 Single Bond Universal(3M ESPE)을 이용하여 표면처리할 것을 권장할 수 있으며 타 연구와 비교하여 볼 때 Air abrasion의 적용 시간의 증가가 전단결합강도의 증가에 영향을 미치는 것으로 유추되므로 추가적인 연구의 진행이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
